Ok My apologies. I really didn’t understand your post. Please can you explain what you meant.
Because they want to read Romans to Philemon into every time period which the Bible deals with, including Genesis and Revelations.
They here refers to dcon, 11, EG et al.

So such discussions will never converge until you give up your perspective and embrace theirs.

The benefit of the latter is they will start liking your posts, as I can see that one recent participant, jackrosie, is enjoying. ;)

Thanks, really appreciate this. When one understands the thinking of others, it helps one understand more fully why people behave as they do. As a man thinks so is he.

John 15:5. “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
6. “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.

5. Christians who abide in Christ bear much fruit.
6. Christians who do NOT abide in Christ are thrown away!

No! This passage is about abiding in Christ.

He abides in us and we in him.

I got that wrong...

I misread....

We should bear fruit......I find quite a few don’t....why do you think that is?

Some..I would never have known they were Christian by their fruit.

Some have been Christian for yrs and yrs...and still I see no fruit.

I really don’t understand that...can someone explain why some don’t bear fruit?

And I agree Christian who abide in Christ bear much fruit.

It is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. <- Scripture, not opinion.
The workings of God are pretty clear and we are to recognize them. They are not there because we take a Bible verse and claim that describes us. The fruit is evidence of Him working. It is seen in the character of a man. This is most clearly demonstrated in how a man treats those who oppose him.

Jesus said there would those who actually kill others thinking God in working through them in order to fulfill his good purpose.

Claiming his is doing this doesn’t mean he is doing this. If we think He does it by changing our will, we are gravely mistaken. The will must be surrendered, that itself an act of the will.

This is what I don’t understand...some Christian I see no fruit....absolutely none...why do you think that is?

Maybe the Lord needs to work in their heart more...but after yrs and yrs of walking with him...there is no evidence from what I can see of any fruit.

Surely we are to see ourselves in Scripture.

CONTINUED:

I clicked send that post before I concluded by accident. SORRY.

Revelation 13:8 (HCSB)
8 All those who live on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name was not written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slaughtered.

THAT means, EVERYONE who IS SAVED, already have their NAMES IN THE BOOK OF LIFE, before the world was made.

That means HE KNOWS EVERY DECISION WE WOULD MAKE BEFORE World was FORMED.

How small you must think GOD IS, that YOUR decisions can fool HIM ? ? ?

HE IS INFINITELY MORE ALL KNOWING, than you can imagine. How small do you think the ALL KNOWING GOD OF THE UNIVERSE IS ? ? ?
You THINK HE does not even know every single thought that you will have in your lifetime ? ? ?

WOW, YOU DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT GOD!

Ephesians 4:30 (NKJV)
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God,
by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

{There is a major OSAS VERSE!}
The lambs book of life was there from the foundation of the world without names same as the lamb was slain from the foundation of the world doesn’t mean Jesus was slain before he was born. The book was there, not the names in it. That is actually that verse. The translator changed it to reflect their personal theology.

The Holy Spirit is a person and there are consequences to grieving or quenching him. I think after a time he leaves. What do you think happens if we grieve or quench the Holy Spirit?

Perfect!! Jesus himself could have said those words!

That has always baffled me..many a time a time I have said to the Lord

Lord I see no fruit I don’t understand....but in others I see much fruit....in other words the Lord shines out of them.

Another thing I don’t understand....as a non believer I was in darkness/sin......which I didn’t even know until I became born again....I inherited my sin from Adam and Eve.

It wasn’t until I became born again that I realised that....because it was God who shone his light into my dead soul.....that is when I came alive in the spirit...my sins had been forgiven I am in Christ.....
I find it hard that some don’t understand that?
My testimony is that I saw the dirtiness of my heart and deeds and wept asking for forgiveness. I never saw Adams sin but my own. I was forgiven at that moment my own sin. Adam had to ask forgive for his own. My sins were forgiven at the moment I repented, not before. I ask forgiveness still as necessary. Why do you think we don’t understand that?

My dear sister, I don’t know if you’ve been taught future sins are forgiven so no need to ask forgiveness but that is false. Pride likes that theology but if you want grace in your life, you need to ask forgiveness as necessary. Don’t know if they told you that (to relieve one of the humbling required) but “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

My dear, that was Jesus in you asking that question! And I am not flattering you. The HS within me recognizes his voice in your words.

All sin dealt with at cross.....past, present and future....this blatantly false.
