The warnings contained in James letter to the twelve tribes scattered among the nations are every bit as relevant to the behaviour of Christians today as they were in 49 AD:

James 1:18-26 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first-fruits of all he created

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it - not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it - they will be blessed in what they do.

Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.

Religion is basically an attempt to please God by secular reasoning and means.

Have you forgotten that James speaks of "pure religion"? You are speaking about impure religion.

I think James is the book some will use to teach a works based salvation on the church age . This followed by hebrews . This is done at the neglect of the components of salvation with the clear texts on What it means to be Justified, sanctified and future Glorification. For those that believe in a works based salvation are missing the point when it comes to the Gosepl .

Atheism is religion "a belief system ".They believe there is no God. God calls them fools. Having faith in there own self . It is the foundation of Paganism . Out of sight out of mind.

Cain is shown as a atheist. No God in his heart not believing in the unseen things of God . He was the first murder moved by the spirit of lies the god of this world murdered Abel the first prophet, apostle and first recorded martyr . Took Abel out in the field and plowed him under. His blood cries out today to be clothed with the incorruptible.

Pure religion ( the caring for of His bride the church) is a work that he can work in us to both will and do his good pleasure is as the Holy Spirit informs us in a "parable" found in James .

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Christians previously without a heavenly father as widows (not married) as the bride of Christ.

It can be applied to the literal as the world as well . But it is not the context in James But is especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Galatians 6: 9-10 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Sadly, your comments demonstrate little understanding of these matters. Despite my efforts to inform you of the truth, you hold fast to your errors.

Atheism is the belief that there is no god. Cain was not an atheist. The absence of saving faith does not make someone an atheist.

Paganism is the umbrella term for a wide variety of beliefs generally sharing the idea that entities other than the God of the Bible are gods worthy of attention. It is distinct from atheism.

Thanks (Sparks flying ) "touché"

Discouragingly, my efforts to inform you of the truth, and you offer nothing from the scriptures to help support your work .

Atheism is the religion of "no faith". . "no power" to believe coming from God "not seen". The foundation of Paganism/Atheism . The temporal thing seen as gods to themselves . The god of the mountain, another the god of the valley. Another the unseen unknowable god, the god of the flesh, the god of self pride. The tree gods, the rain god e.t.c.

Out of sight out of mind. "No faith" Cain who refused to believe the gospel of rest took Abel the first recorded martyr out into the field plowed him under. Out of sight out of mind.

Deuteronomy 32:20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

Not little faith. . . .none.

Since you are unteachable and you make up your own definitions, you have no truth of which to inform me. The word "atheist" doesn't appear in the Scriptures, so there is no Scripture to define it.

Atheism is the religion of "no faith". . "no power" to believe coming from God "not seen". The foundation of Paganism/Atheism .
Here are the dictionary definitions:

Atheist: a person who does not believe in the existence of a god or any gods : one who subscribes to or advocates atheism.

Pagan:
1 : a follower of a polytheistic religion (as in ancient Rome)
(source: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/atheist)

2 : one who has little or no religion and who delights in sensual pleasures and material goods : an irreligious or hedonistic person

We compare the word of God to the same word .He defines the words and parables . Not Merriam Webster or the Pope. .
Here is the definition of a atheist. Fool.

Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

The foundation of a fool .No God in sight the. God of the bible does not exist. They become their own god and place him before our living God. violating the first commanded Even fools are no foolish enough to make doubt go away. God who created them has written something in the heart of superstitious man.

Christian are the temple of God. We do not serve our own conscience as god. Jailhouse full of them

One day their conscience excuses them five minutes later it accuses .It is simply not knowable.

Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. (atheistic fools )

atheistic, adjective (1) ..disbelieving or lacking belief in the existence of God.

For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, To The Unknown God. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;Acts 17: 22-26

You quoted Psalm 14 and still you don't see your error. It says nothing about people who don't have faith! It agrees exactly with the definition I provided.

It's time to stop arguing, Garee. You're wrong on this matter.

Allow scripture to define the twelve tribes which is James’ audience.

If it were not for the clear theological conflict with Pauline justification by faith, such verses as James 2:14 would simply be read as an exhortation to add works to one’s faith as a means of gaining salvation and not as a by-product of it. We must be aware of the danger of implying that faith is everything when referring to those of an imperfect faith.

James 2: 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the [imperfect] demons believe that—and shudder. A simplistic reading of the epistle fails to uncover the fact that a genuine Christian faith will, by its very nature, produce ongoing good works.

When quoting Paul in Romans 6:1 we must always include his final exhortation regarding sin: What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin that grace may increase. Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer?…

Not to help those in need is sin.

The "Golden Rule" of Leviticus 19:18 was quoted by Jesus of Nazareth (Matthew 7:12; see also Luke 6:31) and described by Him as the second great commandment. The common English phrasing is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you".

In 1 John 3:17 we also read:

But whoso hath this world’s goods and see his brother have need, and shuts up the compassion of his heart from him, how then does the love of God dwell in him?

A real salvational Christian faith cannot see need and withhold assistance.

The book of James was the 1st NT book ever to be written. People put the time of that writing after the events in Acts 8, where the Jews were scattered abroad from Jerusalem.

There was no indication that James was even aware of Paul's conversion, nor the Jerusalem council event in Acts 15, in his letter.

Before the revelation of the mystery given to Paul, how does a Jew show his faith in God?

Are you not implying that in order to recieve Jesus we have to do good deeds ? If not could you explain please ? I believe to receive Jesus ( and the Atonement, eternal life , Be predestined to the Adoption, rom 8.23 , be baptised by the Holy Spirit into the body of christ , ) is through faith .

Of course I'm not implying that, What I am implying is that once Christ is genuinely in our lives then good deed flow from us like warmth from the sun.

Jesus died for each and every member of humankind, to defeat death that we in turn might have eternal life with Him..
Do you agree that He died for the sins of the entire world ?
