Working on the Sabbath Day?

That's your argument? So you actually believe that God's redeemed people will keep the sabbath day holy under the law throughout eternity in the new heavens and new earth? What about the new moon which is also mentioned in that verse? So why would there still be need for the sun and moon in the new heavens and new earth and why would only the city, new Jerusalem be exempt? Again, the Isaiah passage simply means that God’s people will perpetually worship Him in contrast to keeping the weekly sabbath day under the law.

Did you realize that the word "Sabbath" first appears in Exodus 16:23 - Then he said to them, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Tomorrow is a Sabbath rest, a holy Sabbath to the Lord. Bake what you will bake today, and boil what you will boil; and lay up for yourselves all that remains, to be kept until morning.

Sabbath keeping with all it's rules and regulations, was part of a covenant with Israel (Exodus 16:23, 29; 31:12-18; 35:1-3; Leviticus 19:30; 23:2-3,32; Numbers 15:32-36; 28:1-10; 29:39-40; I Chronicles. 23:30-31; II Chronicles 31:2-4; Isaiah 1:13; Amos 8:5; Nehemiah 10:31) that is not binding on Christians in the New Testament. (Colossians 2:16-17)

The Word of God makes it clear that Sabbath observance was a sign between God and Israel. “The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested.” (Exodus 31:16-17) Are you an Israelite under the law?

In Deuteronomy 5, Moses restates the Ten Commandments to the next generation of Israelites. Here, after commanding Sabbath observance in verses 12–14, Moses gives the reason the Sabbath was given to the nation Israel: “Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.” (Deuteronomy 5:15)

I was watching 'Noah-The Last Days' series on Amazon and am worried about my working on the Sabbath day. After watching part 2
which talks about the covenant God made with Noah, his people entered into the Arc which is symbolized as the covenant. Part of the covenant was to keep the Sabbath holy, or sanctify, that day with rest and not to work. I work nights Sundays through Wednesdays and am worried after
watching this video. It stresses not working on Sundays.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!

If this is correct, then Jesus rose on the 8th day nullifying the requirements of the Sabbath. Those who have died with Christ and have risen with Christ are new creations who have received the promise of the "8th day". Those in Christ are no longer to dwell in the 7th day, but to live as new creations made in the 8th day. Thus we are bound to the Sabbath no more.

This is so true. But honoring the Sabbath as the Lord tells us to do is something apart from honoring Christ and the Lord every day of the week.

Christ and the Father are one, you cannot say anything of one is not true of the other. If we honor what the Father tells us, then we honor that the Father gave a special blessing to one day of the week, and asked us to treat that day in a special way. I am not interjecting my opinion to remove and revoke God's Words.

Ceremonial law as shadows use parables to reason by. They give us the understanding of faith. The understanding is hid from the faithless.

The Deuteronomy account differs as to beginnings (Creation) with the same ending of the Exodus (exit from Egypt).. Moral laws do not have reasoning done through parables. It was not accidental but as in most cases he uses two witnesses to represent the one witness of God.

Deuteronomy 5: 15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

Exodus 29: 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Why do you think he spoke that law as a parable two different ways ? As a shadow what was it pointing to?
