We are saved at the judgement. Everyone is saved at once when their names are called in the book of life. We don’t get saved twice. We go to the grave and then resurrected and saved to new life when we hear our names called in the book of life.
Save in the sense go to paradise before heaven like the thief on the cross.

Splitting hairs now. I'm speaking of what the First Post says, and it's Title. The fact that some of what Jesus taught was "directed" at the Jews at that time, in no way justifies saying it is not beneficial to the Church today. Even then, what the Original Post says and what the Title says is simply not true.

Teachings "directed" at the Jews are still beneficial for gentiles and the Church today in that said teachings educate us, and give us a deeper understanding of Scripture.

But I won't just split hairs, I have to say that the Title of this Thread is wrong.

Without the teachings of Jesus, what would the Church today have? The Apostles simply taught what Jesus taught them, and told them to teach us. Given that he "directed" them to teach us whatsoever he taught them, then how are his teachings not for us?

Thank you for the discussion.
The title is a question.

So you believe people that die before the cross, like abraham, Moses, John the Baptist, king David were save, am I correct?

Yes, Christ the Holy Spirit of God worked to purify their hard hearts as a work of his faith or called a labor of love. Just like us today or Abel the first martyr of the faith. . Same mutual faith worked in them that does work in us .. . . Not of us. . . but works in us to both will and perform his good pleasure .He gives us the understanding of His faith and the power to work with us to perform it.

Acts 15:8-10 King James Version (KJV) And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

Also no one dies and goes up to heaven. We are resurrected to eternal life on a restored earth as the new Jerusalem ( heaven) comes down to earth.

Make no different, after cross or before cross, believer or non believer they go to paradise?
Yes. They all go to paradise and await to have their name called in the book of life and then we are saved. We don’t get saved twice.

what I was saying though was that the thief died as a forgiven jew under the old covenants and not as a Christian. It was a few days more until Christ conquered death and rose again instating the new covenant.

I agree his teachings are for us, all the bible is written for us.

But I guess you don't really distinguish between "for" us and "to" us?

So that samarithan woman not save, John the Baptist not save?
Acts 3:19-21, 1 Peter 1:3-9 and 1 Peter 4:17-18 teaches us how Israel saw the timing of their salvation.

To them, salvation is something to receive at the end of their lives, after they proven themselves worthy.

Come to think of it, that is how you think also right, that is why you insist it is faith and works that save?

Yep, you will find Hebrews to Revelations supporting that view.

Do you still want to address my question to you about Matthew 10:5? Was Jesus joking there?

5 These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6

This doesn't mean jesus don't want to preach to samarithan, Jesus Himself preach to samarithan

John 4
13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

There are so many possibility reason why Jesus don't want these disciple not to preach to samarithan. It may the disciple not ready or other reason, but not because gospel only to Jews

If so why Jesus Himself preach to samarithan?

Valid for study? Yes. Valid to directly for us to do? Nope. Directions have changed throughout the course of human history....the doctrine of Progressive Revelation.
You are Pauline only

You minimize the other books of the bible.
And what basis? ..You say they tell the reader to do things which are n/a.

Yet paul shaved his head and took a vow.

Under your methodology paul is not for us Christian's today.

Do you cast out devils, heal the sick and raise people from the dead?

Have you sold all that you have to follow Him?
You just minimized the normal christian life.

It’s called rightly dividing the word of truth.

Paul’s letters are for the Church age. Doctrine for the body of Christ has no time limits, except the rapture.

By grace through faith in what? The d,b,r for sins was a mystery until after the resurrection. What have you placed your faith in for salvation? 1 Corinthians 15:3-4? I hope so.
It was not a mystery to Jesus.

Jesus spoke in the gospels. He was not without revelation.

The word of God is written for all, Jesus died on the cross for the sins of all mankind, not just a select few.
