That may be, but it need not affect a sound relationship. You would simply need to ask your spouse-to-be -- "Where do you stand on divorce?" And if a clear-cut rejection of divorce is not forthcoming, then "It's been nice knowing you" should suffice. Christian women who are committed to the Lord will not dream of divorce.
You seem to have missed the point i was making.
50% of marriages end in divorce, even 60% to 70% someone was saying. This includes many so called Christian women.
So the point i was making was that the chances of a successful marriage are much lower than they used to be...

And anyhow, a person can easily change their mind.
They might tell u their committed for ever, be holy, and religious in Christ and still call for a divorce for the littlest things...

I told you seoulsearch. How many times have I told you? If you use an example in the thread title they will go straight for the example and totally ignore what you meant to be the real thread topic. Every. Single. Time.

It's alright. You said once that I'm always derailing my own threads as it is :), so as long as the discussions are hopefully interesting, considerate, and maybe even entertaining, I can't see a reason to mess with the method.

There's always such a fine line to walk when writing a thread.

If you give too much of an example, I know that the example itself will get the most attention (rather than the question behind the example.) I get caught up in that sometimes as well.

But I've also seen very good thread ideas fall between the cracks simply because a question was simply asked, and there was little to no additional information. This too usually leads posters into answering everything but what is really being asked.

These days, I figure I've kind of found a thread-writing "formula" that I've become familiar with and generally stick to.

If nothing else, I always tell myself that it doesn't hurt to try, so I just see how it goes and take what I learn from each thread to build upon when writing the next. I always have the hope that at the very least generate, it will help people get to know each other and generate some positive conversation. :)

I don’t know about the numbers, but I thought I was gonna stay married forever, but alas, my long time marriage failed and I reckon I’m a part of that statistic.
I'm so sorry to hear this, Jenny. (hugs)

itz Her thread And OP🙂
Sorry for going MIA... Let me try to think of a good excuse.

Hmm.

Can I go with, I was abducted by aliens? :alien:

I'd like to say that a team of the best of the best hostage negotiators from around the world bargained for my release, but the truth is, it didn't take long for the aliens to change their minds -- and send me right back (fortunately, completely intact and unscathed.)

"Sure, I COULD learn to not put the illustration in my thread topic. But it's easier to..." :p

You can go with the "abducted by aliens" excuse, on condition that you provide a suitably descriptive account of your (mis)adventures.

As much as I've love to say I have a big, juicy story that I can sell to the National Enquirer for a hefty price and then retire somewhere well beyond Area 51, I have to confess that there's just not much to tell.

The poor creatures beamed me onto their ship (where they very helpfully have a large monitor on one side of their ship with a screen of "Humans to Avoid At ALL Costs.")

Once they realized that my picture is among the Top Ten Most Unwanted (or in Harry Potter language, "Undesirables #1-#10,) they understandably took one look -- and immediately sent me right back.

Alas.

Usually my antics get me INTO trouble.

This just might be the first time that they actually helped me AVOID it... And on an intergalactic level at that! :geek::alien::cool:

I grew up in a household in which cookies were never baked and very seldom bought, if ever. As an adult, I am now grateful.

However, I have also adopted a policy of never meeting a cookie that I'm not willing to at least try. :D

But if I'm going to take the splurge, the cookie has to be worth it. I don't like cookies that just taste like a big gulp of flour. They have to have some kind of taste and flavor payoff. I also tend to like chewy, not crispy cookies (it's the same thing for me with pizza.) :D

And indeed, every cookie is different. One chocolate chip cookie might be dry and crumbly, and while might be a little round piece of chocolate chunk heaven on a plate.

I am willing to make the sacrifice in order to try to determine the who's who, the bee's knees, and the cream of the crop amongst any array of cookies that I just might be lucky enough to cross paths with. :)
