Wrong thread? Left field? I'm NOT playing a game here.

The title of the thread is, "Sins cannot be charged". Please read it again for the first time.

My response to this was posted and is repeated below.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A LICENSE TO SIN.

God hates it and He hates those who do it.

God does NOT hear the prayer of the sinner except for the prayer of repentance. God WILL have an end to SIN either by the repentance (to turn away from) of those who live with it or the punishment and premature death of those who've been born again but continue to wallow in it.

Do not think God will wink at SIN in the life of the believer.

The LAW still stands.

St. Paul wrote in Romans 2:12, ""those who do not live by the LAW will die by the LAW." Peter also wrote in 1 Peter 4:17 "it is time for judgment to begin in the house of God..."

Jesus, who is something of an authority on the subject, was quoted in Matthew 5:17 as saying, "I did NOT come to abolish the LAW, I came to fulfill it." Continue reading the next line where Our Lord said not one jot or tittle would be removed from the LAW. Jots and tittles are the tiny marks in Hebrew writing that act like punctuation. Not one dot of the LAW will fail.

When Jesus said He didn't come to abolish the LAW, which part of NOT does the reader not understand?

Why do people who claim to be followers of Jesus, who lived by the LAW, spend so much time denying the LAW and spend time justifying SIN instead?

No one can be saved apart from the LAW.

Some Biblically illiterate person will write that we're saved by grace, not law. There are two problems with this assumption.

First is that such persons do not understand there are TWO laws. One is Torah, given by grace. The other is Talmud, accomplished by works.

Jesus is, by current definition of the term, a Karaite Jew. Karaite Jews are those who deny Talmud as canonical scripture. They read study and live by Torah and the prophets of the Tanakh (protestant OT). Jesus always quoted Torah (mostly Deuteronomy, actually) and the prophets of the Tanakh. He NEVER quoted the teachings of the Talmudic rabbinate (which Jews of today follow - religiously).(*)

Bear in mind the entire Bible, except for the gospel of Luke and book of Acts, was written by Jews for Jews. Jews who read those words understand references to Jewish tradition (between the lines, as it were). References in the NT to the law are usually references to Talmudic law - or that part of Torah that was fulfilled by Jesus. Grace is not a mask that covers the LAW God gave to Moses and the world. GRACE is intended to act as justification for SIN. GRACE and LAW work together.

The Jewish holiday of Shavout is an observance of the day God gave the LAW too Moses.
The gentile holiday of Pentecost is an observance of the day God gave the Holy Spirit, GRACE, to the world.
Do you not know that BOTH holidays fall on the same calendar day?

Is this a coincidence or is God saying something important about LAW & GRACE?

They are two sides of the same coin (of redemption & reconciliation unto God).

that's me, hollering from the choir loft...
(*) According to Talmud, 10 rabbis who agree on a thing force God to comply with their decisions. God is thus subservient to the will of the rabbinate - according to Talmud.
Jesus made it easy for true Christians. Instead of obeying the ordinances of the law, obey the spirit of the law. Obeying the spirit of the law simply means to first love God with all of your heart, mind, and soul and the second is to love your neighbors as yourself. It is when a person is granted the repentance that leads to salvation by the Father and believes in the saving work of Jesus Christ, that he receives the gift of the Holy Spirit which fills his heart with the same love shared by the Father and Son. It is this love that makes us one with the Father and Son and perfects us in the eyes of God. The difference between a saved person who sins and the unsaved person who sins is that the true christian hates his sin, truly repents, and asks God for forgiveness and strength to overcome his sin.

When all your choices are made with this love in your heart, you are obeying God's commandments.

Common sense. Not everyone is saved and goes to heaven.
That's a slippery way to read the bible ' common sense ' God's' sense' is wiser than ours . If you start with a faulty premise to begin with, you will view everything from this . Like the T in Calvinism.

1 Cor 15:3-4

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures

If Christ died for our sins, for He didn't die for everyone's sins, but if we're blessed to be of those He did die for, namely His Sheep or Church, then one thing is for certain, our sins cannot and will not be charged to us.

Rom 4:8

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. 1
Is this untrue ?

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭2:5-11‬ ‭

Should we believe this type of scripture also ? If we do , we have to sort of let go of the idea we’re not accountable anymore , if anything we are more accountable now animals died for their sins , Gods son died to pay for ours .

what you are sort of not acknowledging is the other thousand verses. And other truths like this one

“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained;

whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭17:30-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The one who died for our sins is also the judge and jury of mankind alone and this is what he said

‬‬
“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12:48-50‬ ‭

Salvation is defined by the words of God , he clearly teaches man to repent because sin will always bring death . Repentance and baptism leads to remission of sins. Belief of the gospel leads to eternal
Life

It seems counter productive to work to justify continuing in sin , the thing that keeps people in sin is thinking they don’t have to ever answer for it , or they accept the truth or will lead towards repentance and will guide our life much more than if we pretend we can live how we want to and say “I believe “ that isn’t what the Bible teaches anyways

maybe things have changed in peoples minds I believe salvation will always be defined by the parameters God set when he offered salvation

Why is it not only Paul's sins and the ones he was speaking to ? clearly this would not include you .Why are you including yourself into those verses? Could it be that when Paul says he died for our sins this means that

1 John 2:2

“And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”

The only line you wrote that I agree with is your last line "The difference between...." On that point we fully agree.

Otherwise I'm convinced you have no idea what the Bible is talking about with regard to living life before God.

"Instead of obeying the ordinances of the law....", you wrote. Again I ask WHAT LAW?

Upon forgiving the woman caught in adultery, Jesus told her to "go and SIN no more". He didn't tell her she could go out and open a brothel. The admonition to depart from SIN requires a frame of reference as to what SIN is. That frame of reference is the LAW. Thus Jesus admonished the woman to go out and KEEP THE LAW.

All this nonsense about being filled with love for God reads good on greeting cards, but it isn't Biblical.

NOBODY LOVES GOD. "There is no one righteous, not even one" - Romans 3:10 Which part of NO is not being understood?

Love of God is born of the LAW of God. If the LAW is rejected, then so too is the God who gave it.
"Those who do not live by the LAW will die by the LAW."- Romans 2:12

Again I ask, WHAT LAW? There are two.

Speak to us of the LAW of GRACE and you will be addressing Torah (or Pentateuch or the first 5 books of the Bible). Jesus IS, according to the modern definition of His life style, a Karaite Jew. Look it up. The entire Bible, except for Luke & Acts, is written by Jews for Jews. All the Jews who heard and read its words understood clearly the dichotomy of the two laws. Biblically illiterate Christians of the post protestant age have no idea of the premise of either one. Hence they eat sleep and breath secular gibberish as though it was gospel. It isn't.

Know this, that Jesus and the apostles spoke of TWO LAWS.

The one they lived was Torah. The one they rejected was Talmud. Big difference. Torah outlines and teaches the LAW of GRACE. Talmud demands living by the law of works. (Read the book of James & Hebrews). The beauty of the promise of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is that it is a gift to those who receive it TO HELP THEM LIVE ACCORDING TO THE LAW (Torah). The other promise is immortal life, which will require living by the LAW as well.

"I did not come to abolish the LAW. I came to fulfill it." - Jesus as quoted by Matthew 5:17

Which part of NO is not understood here?

Blessed be the Lord of Hosts who has given us His Torah.

yes amen agreed so what do we do to reconcile the two ideas ? One that God doesn’t inspire sin to believers in Christ . And the idea that the church is clearly taught that we must all face the judgement and receive what we have done in our body whether good or bad ?

we agree both beginning points are true so how does the reconciliation occur ? Do we toss out one and believe the other ? Or do we believe both

“She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:11‬ ‭

it’s one message “ if you believe I forgive you , but you must repent now because you have to answer for every deed and word “

what we have to do is learn the gospel because it’s different than everything else. In Christ we learn that though we do all have to face the judgement for every deed and word we have the decree of the judge if we will believe this and walk in this

We have his jidgement

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned:

forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom.

For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:36-38‬ ‭

judgement is coming to you and I and all of them so we have to see the judgement in light of the law of liberty the law of mercy Jesus was teaching there

“ blessed be the merciful says the judge for they will receive mercy “

we’re meant to walk in ( speak and act) that understanding our judgement is going to look like this under Christ

“So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.”
‭‭James‬ ‭2:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬

we all have a sin account to some degree Christ offers forgiveness but we have to stick to his actual offer if we are merciful when people sin against us , we can rest assured by his own word we will receive that same measure of mercy regarding our sins

If we stop with “ God has been so merciful to me “ and reject “ and now he commands with authority that I am merciful to others lest I return before his judgement and receive what I deserve without mercy

try the parable of the unforgiving debtor or the many other references to this

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That’s not a teaching for the world it’s a teaching for the children of God . We have to consider all of his word , the grace that sustains us and the truth that leads us

The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

The field is the world;

the good seed are the children of the kingdom;

The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. The tares resemble the wheat until harvest time. Might that also represent the false christians and the true christians. The false christians are those that are not filled with the Holy Spirit of God, are full of themselves and have trouble understanding the simple message of the bible by making it seem more complicated than it really is. Being filled with the Holy Spirit of God is not just a mental experience, it is a state of being that fills you with love and opens your eyes with understanding.

I’m well I think it sort of makes itself clear who the tares are the children of Satan in the world the way the scripture identifies the children of God and Satan is like this

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil:

whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I’m not sure the answer is to make sure we don’t understand I think to believe we first have to hear and consider what’s there and not cut Gods word off when we don’t like what it says

I believe there are children of God in this world whoever accepts the gospel as it is and believes and there are children of Satan in the world who reject it I think that’s sort of what that parable bears out

it’s about believing what we have heard of the actual gospel it doesn’t help to hear twenty versions of the gospel that never actually teach the gospel . I’d say knowing what to believe is imperative and that correct doctrine is how that is accomplished . Correct doctrine is the gospel
