I'll stick with Paul. I suggest you do likewise if you don't want to burn in Hell.

1 Timothy 2:12 (NKJV)
12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.
BAHAHAHAHAHA... you are doing a fine job of demonstrating your ignorance.:ROFL::ROFL:

I missed that you were quoting a verse since you said "I have"---here is a better rendering I think as John had written the letter to believers to warn them about false teachers:

"1 John 2:20, NLT: "But you are not like that, for the Holy One has given you his Spirit, and all of you know the truth."

He is contrasting false teachers with believers--they are anointed with the Holy Spirit who reveals TRUTH, therefore all true believers have this anointing.

Honestly it did sound like you were proclaiming that for yourself--as in YOU had the truth, not me. Or anyone else that disagrees with you. That is my personal observation.
I do believe that a person must obtain that promise by faith (Hebrews 11:33, 2 Peter 1:3-4, 1 Corinthians 1:20, Romans 4:20-22) in order for it to apply to them. By asking, seeking, and knocking (Matthew 7:7-8).

Of course, one must be willing to accept truth that they generally don't like if they are going to have an unction by which they know all things...because there are things in reality that we may not like, necessarily.

I go primarily by the kjv....and when another translation disputes the rendering of the kjv, I hold that the kjv trumps that translation, every time.

It means that I believe in the passages that I have quoted in this thread.
Well, I'm sorry if I misunderstood. The 'authority of scripture' and 'Authoritarian' are two different things. When I said the video showed the two sides: Egalitarian vs Complimentarian--you said you believed in 'Authoritarian'--of course i took it to mean in regards to women in the church since that is the topic of this forum.

Yes, in regard to women in the church....that the men have authority over them that is to be exemplified by their head covering (1 Corinthians 11:1-16)

Perhaps you should check to whom my post was addressed, instead of attempting to make yourself look more foolish.
I will admit that I was butting in. I do that from time to time, when what I have to say applies to the situation.

I disagree-- because the bible says,

"Repent,” Peter said to them, “and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."--Acts 2:38

"When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come."--John 16:13

We are able to understand and receive truth via the holy spirit--people do quench the spirit by how they live and by not bothering to study God's Word----or by simply going by what they're taught without questioning it--but it is there and available to them at the moment the receive the Holy Spirit.

Personally, I read through all of the epistles in the course of one week, the gospels, Acts, and Revelation in the course of about a month, and through the rest of the Bible at a slower rate.

Since we get our doctrine of the Bible primarily from the epistles, I believe that I have a good understanding of Bible doctrine....because I am constantly brushing up on it in my reading time.

The fact that I have an unction from the holy one only means that I understand the truth even better when I read it.

I don't think that the verse means that we know everything in our minds...even Jesus didn't know the day or hour of His return...but it means that in our spirit we are able to discern between truth and error.

If you are willing to listen to the unction that the Lord wants to give to you...I believe that He will show you that what I have preached on this subject (of the thread) is based in the word of God.

@Dino246, you consistently bear to me thorns and thistles.

See Matthew 7:15-20.

You might want to do what it says in 2 Corinthians 13:5 and consider whether you are a good tree or a bad one.

I just noticed JBF, that you said "KJV trumps that translation every time"--how so? We no longer use King James English, many of the words are now obsolete. Bibles translations need to be updated from time to our modern English--or whatever language--German, Spanish etc--from the original Greek and Hebrew.

I like to use bible hub to see the different translation-some are TOO literal. For example when you read some of the Tolstoy or Dostoevsky translations they can be extremely wooden because they were translated too literally (meaning translated word for word)--the meaning is what needs to be extracted because often in one language they may have one word, which takes five words to convey in English. There's a lot of nuance in language--I for one am astounded at how the translations are quite similar and reading different translations can often give deeper meaning and richness.
I believe that the kjv is inspired and inerrant as concerning doctrine...

That is the long and short of it.

Hmm? Again--I did explain what the verse was saying--it was to 'ALL'--all the believers that the letter was addressed to. The Amish, Mormons, JW's, even some Roman Catholics study the bible--there are many Pastors who do not know the truth of God's words because they look at it thru their denominational lens.

Again--all true believers have the Holy Spirit--and I quoted the verse in my previous post which says He is the revealer of Truth.

Mormons and JW's do not have the Holy Spirit because they don't have the right Jesus (unless they received the right Jesus before becoming involved in their cult)...(2 Corinthians 11:3-4)

And, therefore, the promise of 1 John 2:20 is not given to all whose eyes fall upon the verse in reading.
