I Samuel has nothing to do with those priests and judges he mentioned. Those came long before I Samuel.1 Samuel disagrees with you. The Israelites’ demand for a human government was a rejection of God. Government by humans has never been needed and is ungodly.

Nonsense. Anarchy is not God's way, nor the way of any thinking human. I shall back that up.1 Samuel disagrees with you. The Israelites’ demand for a human government was a rejection of God. Government by humans has never been needed and is ungodly.
Not unless the government turns your kids against you in a move towards totalitarianism -- which we are beginning to see. Absolutely, mind your house first. But, never ever fail to care about what's happening in your governing institutions.I'll just focus on my family, no matter what the government does or is.
Yes... because the totalitarianism of the monarchy is specifically rejected in America's constitution, and is a major reason the colonists decided to shrug off the Crown. C'mon bro. You can't see the difference between elected reps brought to their positions by the people, and someone who simply inherits a lifetime of absolute power? Wow.So you’re incapable of drawing any sort of analogy between the king that was warned about and our present-day situation with government?
Okay then. Have a good one.
Nice trySo much for perfect date!!
Not a very convincing argument seeing as how human governments have murdered hundreds of millions of people. I’ll take my chances with anarchy.
The perfect date would have all political conversation banned at the door.![]()
As this anarchy argument is VERY off-topic, could we get back to discussing the perfect date?
Staying on topic is common courtesy. From what I have observed, those who don't have common courtesy don't usually last long here. They get all offended about too many things and eventually flounce out with a very bad temper.Or - OR - you can just scroll past comments you don’t like. No one was asking you to participate. And I don’t think you own the site, so we can all discuss what we want.
Guessing you’re a Democrat.
The perfect date involves MSG bloat/hangover?Cont...
Then, a couple of belligerent drunks start hurling political insults at each other right in the middle of the street! However, if they hadn't actually stopped traffic, then we would have never spotted that China Buffet!![]()
You're correct, but you are not without blame. We can both choose right now to let that topic go, which I do. Besides, a) there comes a point when you realize that you're wasting your energy debating with someone, and b) there are forums specifically targeted to this kind of conversation on this site. The perfect date would have all political conversation banned at the door.

In my area that distance would be a leisurely stroll. For New York city, all in one day, that's really traveling! You're correct, but you are not without blame. The perfect date.. there really isn't one perfect date, is there? It obviously depends on the couple. There can be many kinds of "perfect" dates, or just really good ones.
My GF from L.A. visited me in NYC back in 1998. Our first meeting, during the Memorial Day weekend, was like a power vacation. In one day, I took her through Central Park, the top of the Empire State Building, and later to the Astor Place Theater to see Blue Man Group. We were exhausted, to say the least.
