It was definitely fun. At least for me. Data sifting to generate OOBs or rather Echelon Formations was really enjoyable. Though I hated generating the layers involved in the target packets. Spend all day layering a packet with like 10 layers just to one map showing previous movements, projected movements based off of between the lines info. Worst was being the one to deliver the intel. Nerve racking lol. When I got out I almost got a job working for some various cruise ship companies to help prevent violent piracy off of Africa. They should really just change the laws and permit ships to weaponize. But I get being worried some civilians will end up having a mini semi war ship being captured and then used verses the crap the typical their uses. Plus they know a vacuum is always filled. Eliminate the idiots in small boats falling apart armed with basic Aks or m4/16s and you’ll end up with more dangerous boats and crews trying to attack. But instead I got completely out of anything even remotely centered in defense.

I was thinking of reenlisting a few weeks ago if things sparked off with Russia but the patriotism honestly burned out pretty fast. No one cares anymore about it. Most it gets brought up is somehow I must still carry that image a bit and get asked a lot if I am military at stores. But mostly it’s just as you know it’s like 1% of 1% joining and o did my part and am focused on cultivating the life I want. Was thinking of maybe buying out, or starting a security company for side money. Set it completely up with managers down and just collect. But ultimately ended up expanding landscaping by getting into pond work to learn the skill set. Took a while to turn off the humint training as well. It was not my secondary MOS but did cross training since I already had the TSI. In hindsight through, the Reid Technique for interviewing and interrogations just seems highly problematic. But that was all over the news a decade ago. They have essentially changed the bulk of their humint processes. Sometimes you still employ techniques like monstering up to technically be within Geneva’s humanitarian laws when your target packet is indicating a most likely on person and mission. I bet that they still will really boost up the Monterey language institutions focus on Russian language.
I was never good at foreign languages. Got a D in French in high school. Some of the Monterey candidates and graduates have been able to master 2 or more languages. That too is impressive. Then you have all the dialects and cultures to consider also so that people can understand what it is that you are trying to convey. I would re-up in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the fact that I am 67 years old. I miss the comradery and unit cohesion. Miss my M16A1 rifle too. Put in a 30 round banana clip, lock and load, and switch on to rock-n-roll. Those were the days.

That is definitely fun. Me and several others occasionally hit up the ranges. Though mostly im into paintball. Though even then, I’ve been moving more towards using airsoft using eco friendly biodegradable pellets. I also do a lot of nature runs and mud crawls. Kickboxing clubs are fun too. Though I’ve been out of it for about 2 years. A lot of places also have archery set ups. I’m thinking of getting into archery and disc ball since many of the nature preserves have them.

I feel like a loser with no friends who is socially anxious. In middle school they called me the quiet girl. In high school most people didn't know I existed. Sometimes I still feel like my teen self and it sucks! lol
