The Holy Spirit Falls on the Gentiles
Acts 10:44 While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. 45 And the believers from among the circumcised who had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even on the Gentiles. 46 For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter declared, 47 “Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain for some days.

Salvation, and the indwelling holy spirit. Before Baptism.
All are required to believe the entire gospel message and obey the associated commands; repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus and receive the Holy Ghost. One's spiritual rebirth is the result of one's belief and obedience to those God-given commands. Consider Paul warned those who had already acquired their rebirth of the need to work out their our own salvation with fear and trembling. (Phil. 2:12) Most don't like to hear it but salvation is an ongoing process.

Then, in post #1,314 I asked another poster this:

Doesn't matter what the OP says. You have NOT proven your claim. In fact, it's been disproven and refuted over and over.

And you have no answer to the question about the saved people who were never baptized in water.

What say you about that? What happens to them?

So, how does Peldom respond to my very legitimate questions? You guess it! another red round X.

Unable to answer, unable to explain. Just those little emoji's to express his emotions.

And that's all he has; emotions. No reasons, no rationale, no nothing. Just is own feelings.

The Bible is based on facts, knowledge, not feelings.

That's why we get no answers from him.

Facts and feelings are opposites. Feelings have no answers, no facts.
I genuinely believe the adversary aligned against gospel truth has his own disciples who are committed to promoting the anti-gospel.

This discussion will only continue to run in circles

@BeeThePeace what was the actual scripture you meant to reference? Luke 26:36-43?

Those who insist Christians have to worry, labor, work, strive to secure their Salvation in this life so to find out at the judgement after their life's time is done if they got it right and are indeed saved because they worked hard enough to be judged saved, are not. Nor, all their live long days, were they ever aware of the truth of God in Christ.

If they'd have spent the same amount of time being still to know the voice of indwelling God who opens the way, rather than commit to speaking a false doctrine, they wouldn't find themselves judged wrong after they're dead.

We should stop focusing on doing and focus on being.
Being a child of who has saved us grace and not of works.

As a result of being we will doing out of love for Gods love and salvation given to us freely.

Then doing the works prepared for us beforehand to others out of the same love God has for us and the love we have for those God has given us.

If works do save us then it’s no different from cults and other religions. Might as well try one of those.

This is certainly the way that Satan deceives the world.

Yes.

Deceived people do not understand this at all.

The thief on the cross is a beautiful example of showing us that God's grace toward the thief worked in his heart , and he believed in our Lord and Savior...God is gracious and merciful , no work added for Salvation , Jesus paid it all...

Can you imagine saying to someone on their deathbed on your loved one " Sorry , do not bother repenting , God will cast you away into hell , because you not been baptized "...That is turning people away from heaven...

Sadly, there are traditions that insist that very thing is true. The sheep have a chance to learn the truth and change their mind and walk the right path.

The false pastors, who should know better, that insist baptism is mandatory else someone us not saved, reborn in Christ,as we know will answer to a higher standard of judgement before God. And in this case, for adding to Jesus good news.. And putting terms and conditions upon God.

Because remember, God leads us to his word by the grace of God. And then God gifts us his irrevocable faith in him and Salvation. We are saved the moment we believe.

All else will answer for calling God a liar, needing human deeds and rites to assist God in keeping his word.

Oh foolish men, why do you damn yourselves.

Your objection is to the words addressed, "To all God’s holy people in Christ Jesus at Philippi, together with the overseers and deacons," by the Apostle Paul. (Phil. 1:1) What do you believe he meant, if not what he said? I seriously would like to know.

"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."

I think there are denominations out there that do operate as a cult.

What is very sad is that many follow traditions and have no idea they are doing it.

All are told to earnestly seek out what the apostles did in order to find the common salvation. (Jude 3) If what you say were true then Jesus, and His followers such as John the Baptist, Peter, Paul and Ananias, and so on, are to be condemned for making statements about obedience to water baptism being a required part of the salvation plan of God. (Matt. 28:19, Mark 16:15-16, Mark 1:1-5, Luke 3:3, John 3:3-5, Acts 2:38-41, 8:12-18, 9:17-18, 10:43-48, 19:1-6, 22:16) Water baptism for remission of sin was never just an option, it was a direct command of God as expressed by John the Baptist, the Apostle Peter and Ananias. Their witness alone meets the requirement to establish it's purpose. (Matt. 18:16, 2 Cor. 13:1)

Many expect to gain entrance into heaven without believing and being obedient to the ways specifically expressed by God in His word.

I think there are denominations out there that do operate as a cult.
I struggle maybe not the right word but we find in Corinthians Paul talking about works being burned up but escaping through the fire and still being saved.

My understanding is that Paul is talking about what we teach/preach.

Building upon the foundation of Jesus regarding salvation that adds work to faith to be saved.

I never sure to where the line is drawn.
After all one can have straw/Hubble but only because they genuinely wants someone to be saved because they have been taught that themselves.

So not selfish.

If you will recall, you objected to my stating salvation is a process. If you would be so kind I would appreciate you sharing your understanding of the scripture below:

"To all God’s holy people in Christ Jesus at Philippi, together with the overseers and deacons," by the Apostle Paul..."

"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." (Phil 1:1, 2:12)

I am in no way trying to offend. I share what is in the word because according to Jesus everyone of us will be judged by the word not the watered down message coming from many churches today. (John 12:48)

Quoting scripture that clearly expresses itself is not adding to the Word. What Paul stated should be accepted. But since it does not line up with what many churches teach it is rejected. And that is not using wisdom. Because belief and obedience to what is stated in word of God will determine where each of us spends eternity.
