The Holy Communion is the central point of the christian faith: it is the real body and blood of Jesus Christ. The Church is not a building, but the Body of Christ. We become members of His Body through participation in the life of the Church.

The bread and wine is not the real body and blood of Christ. How could Jesus, alive at the Passover dinner, pass the bread and wine around to the disciples if he was reclining there in person? He can't be both! He said to remember Him when they ate and drank. He was speaking figuratively when He said "this is my body" and "this is my blood".

The central point of the Christian faith is God.

I agree that the Church is not a building, but the Body of Christ.

I disagree that we become members of His Body through participation in the life of the Church. We become members of His body by becoming believers in Him.

I am too old to attend church. Does that mean that I am no longer a Christian?

Matthew 26:26-28
New International Version
26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” 27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the[a] covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Mark 14:22 While they were eating, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, and said, “Take it; this is my body.” 23 Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it. 24 He said to them, “This is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed for many.
Luke 22:14-23
New American Bible (Revised Edition)
14 When the hour came, he took his place at table with the apostles. 15 He said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer, 16 for, I tell you, I shall not eat it [again] until there is fulfillment in the kingdom of God.” 17 Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and said, “Take this and share it among yourselves; 18 for I tell you [that] from this time on I shall not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” 19 Then he took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me.” 20 And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you.
1 Corinthians 11:23-25
New American Bible (Revised Edition)
23 For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night he was handed over, took bread, 24 and, after he had given thanks, broke it and said, “This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

From these passages we learn:
Jesus instituted this Supper for believers to eat and drink often.
Jesus gives those who commune His body and blood in, with and under the bread and wine.
Jesus gives the very price of redemption, his body and blood, so the recipient receives the victories He won-- forgiveness of sins and heaven.
Jesus invites to to do this often to remember what He did for us. This helps us to value His sacrifice and benefits. It encourages us to know Christ is with us in our Christian life.
I must admit I admire your vivid imagination sparky Greg as what you said and what Jesus said bear no resemblance to each other.

Holy Communion is the reality that, in Christ, believers are joined to the Living God as One. Our fellowship is with the Living God, who is our Father.

We eat the bread and drink the wine to remember this.
I don't need bread and wine to be able to do this.

It's right here:

"For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end."

"For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are."

"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people..."

The Living God considers those in Christ to be holy. That's "holy communion".
So the temple of God is communion?

If you look closely at that passage Paul makes a clear distinction between meal time and taking the Lords supper.

1 Corinthians 11:22 (LEB): For do you not have houses for eating and drinking? Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who do not have anything? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? In this I will not praise you!

He then goes on and explains the Lord's supper.
You have carefully inserted into the passage a meaning that is not there and ignored the passage that is there.

The Greek word translated "holy" in the New Testament basically means
sacred and/or consecrated, i.e. things pertaining to God, including people,
i.e. saints.

Well; the Lord's Supper definitely satisfies that definition so I think it's
probably okay for tradition to call it holy even though it's not specifically
called holy in the Bible.

It is not even in the bible.

Why did Jesus Institute the Lord’s Supper on Passover?
  • Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper on Passover to signify that this new exodus was about to begin. This act indicated that the time of redemption had come.

What is the origin of the Lord’s Supper?
  • The Lord’s Supper is rooted in the Passover meal of the Old Testament and realized in Jesus’ final meal with His disciples before His death on the cross. The Lord’s Supper traces its roots from the Passover meal. Jesus and His disciples entered Jerusalem for the Passover feast.
He didn't institute either. The Passover had been celebrated for hundreds of years before Jesus came to earth. And Jesus was telling them at the ANNUAL feast, not every Sunday that they could celebrate the messiah who had come not one who was coming.

Totally wrong. It is forbidden in Jewish law to eat human flesh and drink human blood. As the disciples were all Jewish they would have known this and Jesus being a devoted Jew and a rabbi, would not have asked them to eat human flesh or drink human blood.

Welches grape juice. Its a brand named after the man who first pasteurized grape juice.
I think he founded the juice company.
His company also produced great grape jelly.

So the temple of God is communion?
"We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ."

We who are in Christ are in communion with the Living God. The bread and wine remind us of this. It's by the covenant (between the Son and Father) and through the body (broken for our us) that we commune with God. We are "His flesh and His bones".

THAT is holy communion.

Come the Kingdom there will be no need for the sun by day nor the moon by night for Jesus Yeshua will be our Light.

Wht truly humbled me was considering how all who truly believe Him make up His Body on earth...it is incredible.

Holy Communion is True Communion with the Real Body and Precious Blood of the Lamb of God. Simple. His Flesh is True Food and His Blood is True Drink. He who eats of His Flesh and drinks His Blood has Eternal Life and God will raise him up.

This is off the subject of Holy Communion but I think it's something that
needs saying from time to time.

Internet forums have given many of Christ's obscure followers a convenient
venue for sharing their time-won knowledge and experience with a
worldwide audience. For the Lord's sake, I highly recommend making an
effort to compose legible posts; neatly arranged, sensible, coherent, and
tidy.

Excessive bolding, underscoring, italics, twitter spelling, unnecessary
emogies, lack of adequate paragraphing, horrible grammar, a confusing
mixture of font styles and colors, and/or shouting with caps and big black
oversize letters, makes for tiresome clutter and annoying graffiti that leave a
bad impression.

Some people's posts resemble the obnoxious placards of worked-up
protesters and political activists; yelling, shrieking, and sometimes even
spraying spittle. They are beyond reason and objectivity in their desperation
to be taken seriously. Apparently they assume that if only they shout loud
enough, make themselves irritating enough, and hold out long enough;
maybe they'll get their point across and somebody will finally listen.

I rather suspect that some people regard forums as a canvas for painting
their comments instead of composing them. Well; that might be okay for
outsiders, they can scrawl and splash and be as messy as they want because
their comments don't matter anyway. But for those of us who honestly
believe ourselves to be representing God's son; that kind of penmanship is
unacceptable because it reflects on Christ and makes him look like his
followers are desperate kooks.

yea some people aren’t knit pickey and always looking for anything to argue and point at as someone doing something “ wrong “ so they must be “ desperate “ and just need to conform to your own opinion “

I’m not writing a book for profit , or an article for sale . Just a guy discussing things in a public Bible discussion forum

respectfully if you don’t like how I say what I say I’m pretty sure there’s an ignore button , so you don’t find yourself worrying about how another person uses the provided don’t tools while they are here

it helps me , to understand and communicate what I’m saying , if you or anyone else has an issue with the font , again respectfully there’s an ignore button you will never need to see it again d can discuss with the right size font

again as politely as possible in no way am I interested in people explaining which font size I can use , not intending to offend you with font size or anything but honestly worry about what’s within your own control and what’s actually someone doing something worth criticizing and making n issue about

and again if you don’t like and are offended by my “ penmanship “ ( grammar I think you mean ) which font or font size Ive used just fine oosts with approved fonts and font sizes d don’t worry about what others use in thier posts no offense Intended but i honestly am Not looking for anyones approval over what font I post with if you don’t want to read , dont , no offense taken or intended

peace and good will
