I mean it. The 70's has some of the cutest songs ever! I usually discover older songs later when YouTube came into existence. Not this one though. I actually heard this at the time it was released. I was 11 years old and so excited about going to junior high school for the first time in the next town over. I mean it was far enough that I had to take a school bus! Woah, lol! Anyway, I absolutely adored this song!

-=<Ain't Nothin' Gonna Keep Me From You (12" Version)>=-
(Written by Barry Gibbs of BeeGees fame. Released 1978)

Wind and fire and falling rain
I'll be coming through
There ain't nothing gonna keep me from you, my love
(No nothing)
Nothing gonna keep me from you, my love, I'll find you

Anyplace where you may hide
I'll be by your side
There ain't nothing gonna keep me from you, my love
(No, nothing)
Nothing gonna keep me from you, my love, I'll find you

I admit it, I'm really a dreamer
And I'm reaching for a star too high up there for hanging on
And, baby, I believe in "for all time"
And the miracle of your love and mine
It's a lonely feeling when the meaning's gone

I confess, I don't wanna let you go
And I'm burning for the love
That you don't show me anymore
And all of the dreams that we whispered about
They went into my heart and they never came out
And a love like this can die if we don't let it grow

Wind and fire and falling rain
I'll be coming through
There ain't nothing gonna keep me from you, my love
(No nothing)
Nothing gonna keep me from you, my love, I'll find you

Anyplace where you may hide
I'll be by your side
There ain't nothing gonna keep me from you, my love
(No, nothing)
Nothing gonna keep me from you, my love, I'll find you

Heaven and Earth I will move for you, darlin'
Whatever it takes to be where you are
With a stronger love, let me flow through you, baby
You ain't got the power for breaking my heart

And forever you'll be my paradise
And I'm reaching for a dream when you don't even want me to
And, baby, I believe you need me there
For the miracle of the love we share
And tomorrow I will still be following you

Wind and fire and falling rain
I'll be coming through
There ain't nothing gonna keep me from you, my love
(No nothing)
Nothing gonna keep me from you, my love, I'll find you

Anyplace where you may hide
I'll be by your side
There ain't nothing gonna keep me from you, my love
(No, nothing)
Nothing gonna keep me from you, my love, I'll find you

Heaven and Earth I will move for you, darlin'
Whatever it takes to be where you are
With a stronger love, let me flow through you, baby
You ain't got the power for breaking my heart
Ain't got the power for breaking my heart

Wind and fire and falling rain
I'll be coming through
There ain't nothing gonna keep me from you, my love
(No nothing)
Nothing gonna keep me from you, my love, I'll find you

Anyplace where you may hide
I'll be by your side
There ain't nothing gonna keep me from you, my love
(No, nothing)
Nothing gonna keep me from you, my love, I'll find you

Wind and fire and falling rain
I'll be coming through
There ain't nothing gonna keep me from you, my love
(No nothing)

I had to do some digging, because I know I saw Heart in concert shortly after arriving in Vancouver,
and I am pretty sure that it was Donovan who opened up for them (unless Donovan opened up for
Yes when I saw them around the same time)
.:giggle:. Anyways, they played here December 29, 1977,
but I cannot find any other information about that concert. I know I loved it, and them
.:D
YES! :D
One of my favourite bands of all time. Sadly, Chris Squire passed away in 2015.

Couple of songs I liked from that era that exemplified the poverty and poor people of the Old South.

A group that's been long forgotton about, the Nashville Teens (actually from England) did a song that's been long forgotten called 'Tobacco Road':

The Nashville Teens - Tobacco Road (1964) 4K - Bing video

And CCR produced a haunting song about the Old South, 'Born on the Bayou':

Born on the Bayou (HD) - Bing video
I remember Tobacco Road!

Reminds me of this song, also, by Roger Miller .:D

Small Faces - Itchycoo Park (1967)

Over bridge of sighs
To rest my eyes in shades of green
Under dreaming spires
To Itchycoo Park, that's where I've been
I got high
(What did you feel there?) well, I cried
(But why the tears there?) tell you why
It's all too beautiful, it's all too beautiful
It's all too beautiful, it's all too beautiful

(Hope this isn't Idolatry...?)

"(She's) Some Kind of Wonderful" is a song written by Canadian-American musician John Ellison and first
recorded by his R&B group, Soul Brothers Six, in 1967, peaking at number 91 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

The best known version is by American rock band Grand Funk Railroad from 1974. Still a 60s song .:D

"The Rain, the Park & Other Things" is a pop song with music and lyrics co-written by
Artie Kornfeld and Steve Duboff specifically for the Cowsills. Bob Cowsill said Kornfeld told him
they had written it in two hours.
It was recorded by the Cowsills, and included on their 1967 self-
titled debut album. Released as a single, the song reached No. 2 on the Billboard charts. It was kept
from the No. 1 spot by "Daydream Believer" by the Monkees. The single cemented the group's international
popularity and sold some three million copies over the years. It ties with 1969's "Hair" as the group's biggest
hit, as both reached No. 2 in the US. In Canada, "TR,tP&OT" reached No. 1 on the RPM singles chart.

This is from the Billy Cowsill Benefit Concert in September of 2004 at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles.

Still love these oldies from my youth .:).

Oops. I thought I was in the 60s thread LOL
