well go for it if you can do that then you have some freedom esp of you live in a rural area thats horse friendly. Volunteer at a pony club or something to gain skills. Just a suggestion. Wwoofing is also something you can do or housesitting if you are trustworthy, and sometimes those housesitting jobs pay.
I don't know of any around here and I have no idea what woofing is. I could house sit, Steve paid me to watch his farm for a month while he went to south America, and that was after 1 day of volunteering to help a guy run for the CHP in Guelph.
The only thing I failed at while watching his place was keeping the pasture in tact, it was a mess and full of tire tracks when he got back, but we needed the tractor lights to clean up the saw dust at night when we finished cutting fire wood.
