There's nothing simpler than God has commanded eternal life through his son and the whole law is fulfilled in 'Treat others like you want to be treated'
Do you think God wants us to lower the bar. Or make the law void. To say don't worry about the 10 commandments just love is to remove the definition of love.
Jesus perfectly fulfilled the love and love is the fulfillment of the law.
The perfect law of God is there for us to see and understand perfection.
We can not say we are perfectly sanctified until we are perfectly keeping the law.
This is a high calling that we do not do to be saved but because we are saved.
The saviour came to save the lost. We are all in need of the saviour and without a law we are not guilty.
To remove the law or parts of the law is to take away the possibility to be sanctified concerning these laws.

We will not be convicted if it is not something we are guilty of.

Christ's law of love is elaborated by OT commands against murder, adultery, stealing, lying, coveting and dishonoring parents, which are reaffirmed in various NT teachings, but the command to kill those who work on the sabbath is NOT reaffirmed, although observing it by resting is optional per RM 14:5 & CL 2:16.

The underlying issue regarding the law is whether Israel, or the whole world was given the Mosaic law.

Here is what Chat GPT has to say on this issue.

The Ten Commandments and the Mosaic Law as a whole were given specifically to the nation of Israel
at Mount Sinai as part of their covenant relationship with God. Here's a breakdown of the points you raised:

1. Were the Ten Commandments given only to Israel at Mt. Sinai?
Yes, the Ten Commandments were given specifically to Israel at Mount Sinai (Exodus 19-20).
These commandments were part of a broader covenant, often called the Mosaic Covenant,
which established the terms of Israel's relationship with God as His chosen people. In Exodus 19:5-6,
God states that Israel would be His "treasured possession," a "kingdom of priests," and a "holy nation,"
conditional upon their obedience to His laws.

2. Was the law exclusive to Israel?
Yes, the Mosaic Law was given exclusively to Israel. It was designed to govern their religious, moral, civil,
and ceremonial life as God's covenant people. It set them apart from other nations (Deuteronomy 4:7-8; Psalm 147:19-20).
Other nations were not bound to the Mosaic Law in the same way, although they were still accountable
to God through general revelation and the moral law written on their hearts (Romans 2:14-15).

3. Was Israel in covenant to obey the law?
Yes, Israel entered into a covenant with God to obey the law. This is explicitly stated in Exodus 24:7-8,
where the Israelites agreed to the terms of the covenant, saying, "All that the Lord has spoken we will do."
Moses then sealed this covenant with a sacrificial ceremony. Breaking the law would constitute breaking
the covenant, leading to the consequences outlined in the blessings and curses of Deuteronomy 28.

4. Could Gentiles be punished for transgressing the Mosaic Law?
Gentiles were not bound to the Mosaic Law as a covenant, but they were accountable to God
for moral wrongdoing. For example:

  • Universal moral accountability: Romans 1:18-32 and Romans 2:14-16 explain that all people,
  • including Gentiles, are accountable to God because of general revelation.
chat GPT is a moron, it does not understand. There is a warning on their website that clearly states that it DOES make mistakes, It cannot give you a proper answer for anything spiritual as it does not understand anything of the sort, it goes through databases of texts and tries to give an answer but it does not understand anything.

It is a good tool for searches, It can be used it to search verses and rewrite a text in a clearer way , it excels in this but it should remain a tool only and not be used for anything else. so all it wrote to you is from a huge stack of computers searching a database to fit your question that is all, there is no truth in it. It understands nothing but is still useful for certain things but NOT fotr what you used it for.

Nah if you won't hearken to the plain words of the bible you won't hearken to me
The way I understand the gospel:
The Holy Spirit convicts of our sins by bring our transgression of the law to our attention, then we request forgiveness daily from Jesus for our sins i.e transgression of the law. This is justification.
The second step is sanctification, a lifetime of following the promptings of the Holy Spirit and receiving not only forgiveness of our sins but also the ability to resist every temptation presented by Satan as we grow in faith.
The third step is glorification which will be given to us at the return of Jesus.

I will be glad to provide scriptural support when I am able to access my computer.

I feel as though I don't analyze the Bible enough for this site. hoping to just be more simplistic about things and not over analyze them. If anyone wants to send me a direct message please do. I dont like over analyzing our Lord.
Great idea "...simplicity In Christ...:

"...he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity..." (Romans 12:8 AV)
"For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity
and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by The Grace of God, we
have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward."
(2 Corinthians 1:12 AV)
"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty,
so your minds should be corrupted from The Simplicity that is in Christ"
(2 Corinthians 11:3 AV)
Amen.

There was a death penalty against committing adultery, does that mean we can break this commandment too in the NT? Col 2:16 and Rom 14 the context is in Col 2:14 that no one ever quotes. There is more than one Sabbath in the bible and Paul was so careful to make sure no one would get them confused- ordinances, handwritten, contrary and against. Definitely not the context of the Sabbath commandment, that God wrote with His finger Exo 31:18 and is holy and blessed by God Exo 20:11 Once God blesses something, man cannot reverse, so one would need a thus saith the Lord and there is none of God reversing. Man did this sadly, but without God's blessing, we are nothing. Isa 56:2 Rev 22:14

It means we should NOT break OT commandments that are reaffirmed in the NT, because the wage of all sins is death.

There are only one of each day of the week on calendars.

Yes, the wages of all sin is death- God's version, not mans. The Sabbath is all throughout the NT, still a commandment Luke 23:56, kept faithfully by everyone we are to follow.

I bet you a million dollars that Col 2:16 and Rom 14:5 are correct in teaching that resting on the sabbath is optional for Christians, but serving/working for the Lord should be done every day.

The Lord had to make the gospel super simple and a free gift, because He knows better.

There is no way that the Lord could allow for even one second that any level of obedience,
could be a factor in our salvation.

The gospel had to be idiot proof.

Even the ability or the power to love others is not from us.

Of course you have been condemned already and I don't know why, you keep repeating yourself.

We know the letter kills.

I notice that GPT makes the distinction between the Mosaic law and the ten commandments.

The covenant with Israel was broken and God gave a better covenant.
Because the Ten commandments were part of the old, that does not automatically make them void in the new. We are told they will be written on our hearts..

Charles Spurgeon taught.....
From “God’s Law in Man’s Heart,” June 28th, 1885.
“It is a perfect law, in which the interests of God and man are both studied; it is not a partial law, but impartial, complete, and covering all the circumstances of life .“When the Lord thus writes his law upon our heart, he makes us to know the far-reaching power and scope of the commandment...

Charles Haddon Spurgeon May 21, 1882 Scripture: Matthew 5:18 From: Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit Volume 28

The Perpetuity of the Law of God
....
"I may also say that the man who knows the relative positions of the law and of the gospel has the keys of the situation in the matter of doctrine. The relationship of the law to myself, and how it condemns me: the relationship of the gospel to myself, and how if I be a believer it justifies me— these are two points which every Christian man should clearly understand. He should not “see men as trees walking” in this department, or else he may cause himself great sorrow, and fall into errors which will be grievous to his heart and injurious to his life. To form a mingle-mangle of law and gospel is to teach that which is neither law nor gospel, but the opposite of both. May the Spirit of God be our teacher, and the Word of God be our lesson-book, and then we shall not err.

Very great mistakes have been made about the law. Not long ago there were those about us who affirmed that the law is utterly abrogated and abolished, and they openly taught that believers were not bound to make the moral law the rule of their lives. What would have been sin in other men they counted to be no sin in themselves. From such Antinomianism as that may God deliver us. We are not under the law as the method of salvation, but we delight to see the law in the hand of Christ, and desire to obey the Lord in all things. Others have been met with who have taught that Jesus mitigated and softened down the law, and they have in effect said that the perfect law of God was too hard for imperfect beings, and therefore God has given us a milder and easier rule. These tread dangerously upon the verge of terrible error, although we believe that they are little aware of it. Alas, we have met with authors who have gone much farther than this, and have railed at the law. Oh, the hard words that I have sometimes read against the holy law of God! How very unlike to those which the apostle used when he said, “The law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.” How different from the reverent spirit which made him say,— “I delight in the law of God after the inward man.” You know how David loved the law of God, and sang its praises all through the longest of the Psalms. The heart of every real Christian is most reverent towards the law of the Lord. It is perfect, nay, it is perfection itself. We believe that we shall never have reached perfection till we are perfectly conformed to it. A sanctification which stops short of perfect conformity to the law cannot truthfully be Galled perfect sanctification, for every want of exact conformity to the perfect law is sin. May the Spirit of God help us while, in imitation of our Lord Jesus, we endeavour to magnify the law....

Charles Spurgeon was Baptist.
The ten were the law no matter how you dice it.

The Gentile nations never had the law, they were never given the law at Mt Sinai.

Chat GPT proves the literal, the plain reading of the text, was that God only had
a covenant. With one nation on earth and that nation was Israel.

Israel the chosen nation was in covenant with God to obey the whole law.

Your critical error is missing the point that Israel was under the law. And the
Gentiles nations were not under the law. Meaning that the Gentiles could be
influenced by the moral character of the 10. But the Gentiles were not subject
to the law in a judicial way as the Jews were.

Jews died for transgression of the law and not only transgression of the ten.

Gentiles cannot be executed for coveting, idolatry, or adultery. Because the Gentiles
were never under the covenant with God to obey the law.

You interpretation is corrupt.
