Hi GWH, your post is a bit chopped up so I'm having trouble figuring out what exactly I said that you are taking issue with. If you are saying that a person cannot be saved UNLESS they are full of the Holy Spirit, then I would be curious about your interpretation of Acts 8: 14-17:
14 Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,
15who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.
16For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
17Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
I'm not sure what you are trying to say by referencing Ephesians 4: 11-13, as that passage does not mention The Holy Spirit:
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
If you are saying that God will not give us the Holy Spirit simply because we ask for it, then I would be curious about your interpretation of Luke 11: 13
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
