Whoa. Someone might think you mean the will is not free to just decide to stop sinning! You are right, I forgot people stop sinning when they get baptized.

But forgiveness sake when we do mess up, come to Jesus straight away, confess, thank him we are forgiven.I think even though it's a deliberate and to stop a deliberate (all sin is deliberate) we need the Holy Spirit to work in us to overcome sin.
The thief called Jesus Lord.
He knew he was the only way to heaven because Jesus told him on the cross.
It can take time though, but always seek Jesus we can overcome.
Oh. So you are saying people can just decide to stop sinning??? And it will become a reality??????
A lot can happen in three years...a whole lot.
It is also possible that he was punished for pass crimes committed before he was baptized.
But the point is that we don't know if he was baptized for the remission of sins by Jesus and His disciples or John the Baptist and his disciples or not.
And anyone saying that they know is baloney.
You are trying to negate the commands of the Word of God with your bumper sticker theology.Nothing but the Blood of Jesus!
If water baptism washed away sins, then Jesus did not need to shed his blood, which is a requirement BY GOD for sin.
You're unbiblical.

So will I.We'll meet him after this age ends. I want to hear from him his testimony of how he arrived at his decision to follow Jesus and be saved. I think that would be interesting!

With their non-existent free will, even! Now that would be a neat trick.

At least use a bible verse instead of the title of a song.

Correct, I never said that. You're not saying, "Don't get baptized," though, right?

How can you say "if water baptism---"? The bible says it does in very plain English!
Acts 22:16
16And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
It's at that point that you contact the redeeming blood of Christ; were baptized into Christ and baptized into his death, and it was at his death that his blood was shed. Pretty simple to understand unless you have predetermined bias.
He is saying to not get baptized so that your sins are forgiven and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.Correct, I never said that.
At least he has one.You can't take one verse in the Bible and build a doctrine on it at the expense of all scriptures.
I am sure you know that.
That's like saying, "It's the brass serpent, not the gazing upon it."It is the Blood of Jesus, not water baptism.
Amen! John 3:18 - He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who (is not water baptized? - NO) does not believe is condemned already, because he has not (been water baptized? - NO) because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.Weeeell .. as said b4 ..the condition on no salvation..unbelief in Jesus. Not no baptism.
Certain folks may try to argue that the thief on the cross may have been converted, was water baptized, yet the fruit of that is being crucified as a thief? - (highly unlikely)If the thief was baptized, wouldn't that mean that he stopped stealing stuff and wouldn't be hanging on his cross next to Jesus?

NO I did not stop lying. There is nothing in any of my posts that even suggests such a thing. The Thread is:He is saying to not get baptized so that your sins are forgiven and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
In other words, ignore the following.
Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
At least he has one.
Where is your verse that negates it?
Where is your saved by faith alone verse?
No surmising, that's cheating and carnal.[/QUOTE
Saved by Grace through faith, not of works, that no man should boast.
