Do protestants have a reasonable non-Roman-Catholic explanation for John 20:22-23?

The passage clearly says that only specially consecrated priests among 'the kingdom of priests' can approach GOD.

Only the high priest can go into the inner sanctuary. Now, we all can approach Him.

Numbers 16:

Korah, along with Dathan and Abiram from the tribe of Reuben gathered 250 community leaders to challenge Moses' and Aaron's authority.

Korah and his followers claimed that all Israelites were equally holy and challenged the special priestly role of Aaron and his descendants (the Levitical priesthood).

The next day, the rebels offered incense before the Lord.
God caused the earth to open and swallow Korah, Dathan, and Abiram alive (Numbers 16:31–33).

Do you think God agreed “priesthood of all believers.”??

Only men from the Levite tribe. Jesus was from the tribe of Judah; a different priesthood.

It certainly wasn't at that time, but now it is

Nope, though we are all priests, yet we still need a High Priest, who is Jesus.
Jesus represents us to give offering, sacrifice and prayers to GOD.
Priest in a Mass represents Jesus.

Lay persons are not allowed to come up to the altar during Mass.

But they are allowed at any time to approach the throne of grace because the veil has been removed

And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; Matthew 27:51
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

If ayone is clergy, you don't really have to go to a church.
You worship at home will do.
See how your church pastor would react to this suggestion with his long face.
There are other reasons and verses refuting this conclusion.

Only Jesus can represent Jesus! And yes, He is our High Priest. We can all go in to the inner sanctuary to approach God the Father through Jesus.

You speak about traditions of your church, but you really haven’t given any valid Scripture for those traditions.

Another Gospel
I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,
GALATIANS 1:6 NKJV

For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or
I CORINTHIANS 11:4 NKJV

which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.
GALATIANS 1:7 NKJV

As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
GALATIANS 1:9 NKJV

But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.
GALATIANS 1:8 NKJV

You are speaking that the Catholic Church teaches with traditions which is evil, just a 'different gospel'.
Then, who tell you that yours gospel is authentic and those of the other denominations are 'different gospel' : your church! Would that be a 'tradition' too??

Simple, we follow the pattern from the 1st century church. We don’t even have our own Bible (meaning it hasn’t been altered to a particular creed), like you do. We don’t follow traditions, as such. We don’t recognize denominations., because there should be none! Jesus is the Head of our church/ His church (for all local congregations).
