If not keeping Shabbat is equivalent to "
idolatry" then Shabbat breaking is (what some Churches call) a "mortal sin" which is defined as a gravely sinful act
which can lead to damnation if a person does not repent of the sin before death. However, when I read Jesus' description of what a person will be called into account for in the Last Judgment I read nothing whatsoever about keeping Shabbat.
So you believe a person who does not following "
every jot and tittle" of the Law
will obtain no mercy from God when they appear before Him in the final judgment. However, if they simply
refrain from work on Shabbat they WILL be able to enter into eternal life.
From what Jesus taught, I have always assumed that salvation was conditioned upon REPENTANCE and (personal) FAITH in Jesus. Was this not the Good News referred to in prophecy? This was the salvation Jesus and his disciples proclaimed to the world?
12
Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
(Acts 4:12)
Philippians 2:9-11
Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
John 3:16-18
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that
everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
Why would we want to serve someone else Isa 56:6 if we love Jesus. He invites everyone, but sadly many just do not like His condition John3:19-21.
You, apparently, are among those who do not like it that the
CONDITIONS of SALVATION are not "keeping Shabbat" (along with every other jot and tittle of the Mosaic Law) rather than following the simple call to REPENTANCE and FAITH.
