I'm not lying.

I just thought it was a good example of when the law applies to some while it doesn't to others.

How about a person who lives under the law and still be right under grace?

Isn't living under the law still living after the flesh?
“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.””
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Pretty telling, yes!?

In a word, yes.

1 Timothy 1:5-11 KJV
5) Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
6) From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
7) Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
8) But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
9) Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10) For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
11) According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

Much love!

Absolutely — the Bible is surprisingly candid about people doing the right things for the wrong reasons. A few passages stand out as almost tailor‑made for this theme.

A classic example is Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-11)

This is one of the clearest cases. Ananias and Sapphira appeared to be doing a generous, charitable act — donating proceeds from a land sale — but their motive was self‑glorification and deception. Luke writes that they “kept back part of the money for themselves” while pretending to give the full amount. Their sin wasn’t stinginess; it was hypocrisy.
Selling the land was self-glorification?

As I've already stated....I don't believe we're supposed to wonder WHY we're doing something good at any given moment....
doing the good is what is important.

However, you're free to analyze every move you make.

Sounds very legalistic....
but it's your choice.

Whoever is the first person that is without sin- cast the first stone.

Therefore the law of God is for us. The only way its not for us is if we are already keeping it, otherwise we are sinners 1John3:4 James2:10-12 Rom7:7 Mat5:19-30

Paul is often taken out of context, I would personally not use him to countermand what Jesus taught or how He taught us to live and serve Him and love Him, but thats me. I guess it will all get sorted out in God's time.

Still don't believe that we're to do good works?
You have me confused with someone else. I never denied that we are to do good works.

I was responding to the assertion that bad works causes someone to be unsaved. That isn't true.

Selling the land was self-glorification?
What? I didn't say that.
As I've already stated....I don't believe we're supposed to wonder WHY we're doing something good at any given moment....
I know you said this, but you are wrong. Of course, you need to know why you are doing what you are doing, because reason speaks to motive and motive speaks to righteousness. In other words, your works aren't "good works" unless you know you are doing good.

These are the only works that are "good." Those works that God, Himself, prepared in advance for us to walk in (Eph 2:10).

if you can actually answer the question?

I've already provided to you the source for knowing if works are good, you just missed it.

Matthew 7:15-20
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

God's Word teaches the difference between good fruit and bad fruit.

I'm not lying.

You said "This is probably why you don't understand it so well. You're reading it as if you wrote it."

That's a lie and nothing more than your opinion not based on what God's Word actually teaches.

It's time for you to put away childish things and stand up and walk like a man!

I just thought it was a good example of when the law applies to some while it doesn't to others.

There is no law that says people are required to get married in order for a couple of be recognized legally as man and wife.

At least in the state where I live.

How about a person who lives under the law and still be right under grace?

The grace of the is not offered to those living under the Law of Moses.

One must become a born again Christian under the New Covenant to have grace.

Isn't living under the law still living after the flesh?

Galatians 5:4
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Have you considered becoming a born again Christian yet?

You should come on over to the New Covenant. It's the only way to salvation.

Paul is often taken out of context, I would personally not use him to countermand what Jesus taught or how He taught us to live and serve Him and love Him, but thats me. I guess it will all get sorted out in God's time.
We need to keep up. Jesus taught Israelites living under the Sinai covenant, for instance, stating that we are to forgive others or the Father will not forgive us. Paul later wrote of the redeemed that we forgive others because God has already forgiven us.

There was a huge change when Jesus died and rose again. "If you do these you will live" became "if you believe in Me you will live". To reject "if you believe in Me you will live" so you can return to "if you do these you will live", why would we do that?

Much love!

That doesn't address the other fellow's question. You seem to prefer deflection to open conversation. That doesn't interest me. So nevermind.

So in your view can we "live in Jesus" and be breaking one of His commandments and sinning?

Are you claiming that we can sin in the future without asking God to help us forsake our sins and we will be saved? Despite the Scripture saying the opposite Pro28:13 Heb10:26-30 Why would Jesus heal and than say Go and sin NO MORE? If freely sinning and breaking God's laws is perfectly fine with Him.

Missed what when? I've only just asked you this.

Then you should already know the answer as it's already been talked about in previous posts

That doesn't address the other fellow's question.

For those that don't think what God teaches in His Word is good enough, then there's little hope for such persons.

That doesn't interest me

It doesn't interest me that you aren't interested in what the Lord teaches in His Word.

Yeah so nevermind indeed.

I'm way ahead of you.

Legend in your own mind, I know.

But what about those who think that they retain their salvation on the basis of their works?

What about those that advocate for Christians living in sin then lying about claiming they are still in right standing with the Lord?

So in your view can we "live in Jesus" and be breaking one of His commandments and sinning?
I'm saying you are not under God's covenant with Israel, and that we have a different covenant with God, summarized in Jesus' words that all who believe in Him shall live.

Now if you want to apply yourself to keeping the Law, the Bible tells us that's not of faith, and therefore works against faith. Romans 4 is all about that.

And the truth is, you've already broken the Law of Israel's covenant with God, and you will be destined to break it continuing on, as in fact many of the commandments simply cannot be kept.

So that will force you to carve Israel's covenant of Law into pieces, that you think some will apply to you and some not. James addresses this directly, telling us that God is the One Who gave all the commandments, the Law and the Prophets, and if you break even just one, that renders you a lawbreaker, and condemned by the Law.

You who teach the Law, do you realize what it says?

Much love!

Another post of deflection. Wisdom is indeed justified by her children.
