That is not a commandment for mankind to obey a sabbath day.

Because the Noahide law does not command mankind to obey a sabbath.

You need a direct commandment given to the Gentiles that specifies, that Gentiles
must rest on a seventh day. The codified law was given to Israel at Mt Sinai and the
penalty for not obeying that commandment.

We are saved by grace which excludes the law.
Not sure what part of Sabbath rest was the 7th day of God's creation you don't understand. Adam and Eve were not Jews however they rested with God on the first Sabbath of creation. Check your Bible facts.

I have attended worship services on both Saturday and Sunday. It really is not a complex subject. Look, not to be unkind, but I know the lady is your wife (I think you know who I mean) so you are kind of stuck in between. Regarding Sabbath rest, it's actually about Jesus and not a day of the week.

This video may help with understanding:

Got Questions is not my favorite site, but an easy explanation is good to start with.
"If ye love me, keep my commandments" is a famous verse from the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, found in John 14:15. Jesus speaks these words to his disciples, emphasizing that true love for him is demonstrated through action, specifically by following his teachings rather than just words or feelings.

Well exactly, right? I hope you see the irony in your post here. Do Judaizers focus on that fact? Nope. It's just sabbath sabbath sabbath.

What about the New Testament? Do you underestand that Judaizers leave out large portions of the New Testament? You absolutely cannot continue with the Old laws if you study the New Testament. This being true, engage an Adventist or 2 or any other Sabbatarian 'specialist' and you will be told that Paul is not really an apostle, therefore, he cannot be taken as seriously as he takes himself.

Only Paul IS an Apostle. Even Jesus original Disciples declared him to be so.

sigh
Up until I was 56 years old I always felt LOST going to hell etc. I'd backslide from church and just give up because I knew I was never going to be good enough for heaven/God.

I was pouring my heart out to him one day and said I'm not good enough and I'm never going to be good enough and he replied back to me you are right you aren't good enough and you never will be but that is why I sent my son Jesus to die for your sins because instead of looking at you I look at his perfect record and you are clean through him. God explained salvation to me so please don't think I don't understand salvation as I know it is only through Jesus. But because I love Jesus I want to not kill, not steal, not lie, not go against the 10 commandments. We don't need the 613 extras as we don't have to offer animals for a sacrifice anymore because Jesus died and paid the price.

Please don't assume we don't know what you are talking about we do and we are not trying to work our way to heaven because it can't be done. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. All to him I owe.

lol thanks. Yeah, I'd say it is up there with JW's Catholics, and Christian Scientists.

The majors considered by people who have more to say than I do:

Mormons
Jw's
Christian Science aka Church of Christ
SDA

and there are others but apparently, those are the 'bigguns'

Not really. White is rejected by all who accept scripture for what it states, especially concerning salvation for the false prophet she actually was.

EVERY single cult produces extra biblical literature that they consider equal to or more important than scripture. We have Mormons and their book of Mormon. We have Jehovah witnesses who have created their own Bible translation by men who do not understand the original languages and we have Christian Science with their 'spiritual healing' based on hocus pocus. They now refer to their cult as Church of Christ.

Seventh Day Adventists, also recognized as a cult because of its extra biblical books and bad exegesis, have their prophet Ellen White who had an angel friend who helped her manage her many prophecies and visions. It is interesting to note that each of these 4 (considered major cults) have angel friends or some kind of ability to do automatic writing.

Whites prophecies are often enough in direct conflict with actual scripture and her visions amount to hallucinations. Sadly the world is not rejecting any of these cults at the moment, but a little research will reveal that thousands have left these groups and make it their business to warn as many as they can once they are free of the demonic debauchery induced deception.

This op is 31 pages long and contains proof of White's delusions so anyone can revisit these posts and see the truth for themself. All offerings provide reference as to the source with some of the error backed up by people who were in her time frame on this earth, who left her teachings and even provided Whites own words to illustrate just how bad it was. White also plagerized a great deal of her 'original' writings supposedly given to her by God.

It has also been noted that there are different types of Adventists. Some are quite lax in their beliefs and mainly just attend church on Saturday. Others are die hard in their practices derived from White's many offerings and defend obeying the 10 commandments as if Jesus had never died for them and they somehow must create their own righteousness or at least help the
only begotten Son of God out by trying to be just as obedient as was He. A fools' errand to say the least.

Copied this from above. This is what I found Below.

Seventh-day Adventists (SDAs) are generally considered a conservative, often legalistic, Protestant Christian denomination rather than a cult by mainstream theological standards. While they share core Christian beliefs, such as the Trinity and salvation through Jesus, some evangelicals and critics label them a "sect" or "cult" due to unique doctrines—like the Investigative Judgment and the authority of prophetess Ellen G. White—and strict, often isolating, lifestyle rules.

Key Perspectives on Seventh-Day Adventism:
  • Mainstream View: Most mainstream Christian groups, such as Catholic Answers, consider SDAs to be validly baptized Christians and a Protestant denomination, not a cult, despite having "strange" or unique ideas.
    • "Sect" Classifications: Some organizations, such as the North American Mission Board, classify the SDA church as a sect rather than a cult because they accept key theological pillars of Christianity (e.g., Jesus' deity) while having distinct, non-mainstream doctrines.
    • Why Some Label Them a Cult: Critics sometimes use the term "cult" to describe the group's high-demand lifestyle (e.g., strict dietary laws, Sabbath-keeping), focus on Ellen G. White's writings as divine guidance, and the doctrine of the "remnant church," which can encourage an exclusive, elitist view.
    • Theological Differences: The primary differences often cited are the belief in the Investigative Judgment (starting in 1844), soul sleep (denial of hell), and the strict adherence to the Seventh-day Sabbath.

While individual, local Adventist congregations might exhibit controlling or "cult-like" behavior, the official global organization is widely accepted as a Christian body with eccentricities.

I'm not your judge so maybe please stop trying to post like you think I am.

This thread is not about you nor is it about defending the insanity of Ellen White. SDA is considered a cult because the doctrines are so far removed from the Bible as to be...well, considered a cult.

What are you trying to say when you bring up not wanting to kill or steal etc? Do you for one implausible moment think that means those who are not SDA want to do those things? You know, that is something defenders of the SDA constantly try to
say. It is a lie when it is said and you really should not repeat it. You seem to be lacking a basic foundational doctrine regarding the gospel...as per scripture and not White....and sorry, but that is no excuse for seeming to say that you don't want to kill when even that virtue will not grant you salvation.

There is salvation ONLY through the blood of Christ. No sabbath no nothing but Jesus. That is what scripture states.

Adventists want to portray those who believe the New Covenant is in the blood of Christ, which Jesus Himself said at the last supper, as continuing to feel free to sin. That is a lie.

I will also add that salvation is not about how we feel. Salvation is about believing the truth and believing what scripture says.
Feelings follow, but God did not save us on a whim because He 'felt' like it. In His love and mercy, He sent his only begotten Son to die in our place because as He is holy and righteous He cannot allow sin in His presence. He sees us as righteous in His Son and does not pour out His wrath on us because we are forgiven. I hesitate to think what will come down on those who deny the blood of Christ and try to replace it with the 10 commandments.

Let me explain how Adventist pioneer writers understood Revelation 22:18 in relation to continuing prophetic gifts and the end-time Elijah prophetic message, of Malachi 4: 5-6

The Core Theological Distinction

Adventist pioneers made a crucial distinction between:
  1. Adding to the canonical Scripture (forbidden by Revelation 22:18-19)
  2. Continuing prophetic gifts that illuminate existing Scripture (permitted by Joel 2:28-29)
Revelation 22:18-19 (KJV):

Malachi 4:5-6 (KJV):

Joel 2:28-29 (KJV):

How Adventist Pioneers Interpreted This

Ellen White, whom Adventist pioneers recognized as having the "spirit of prophecy," consistently taught that her writings were not to be added to the biblical canon:

She explained Revelation 22:18-19 this way:

James White's Teaching

James White, Ellen White's husband and co-founder of the SDA Church, wrote:

He emphasized that Revelation 22:18 specifically addresses

  • Those who would alter biblical doctrine

  • Those who would claim equal authority with Scripture

  • Those who would add new books to the canon

The "Third Elijah" Understanding

Adventist pioneers understood the Elijah prophecy as having multiple fulfillments

  1. First Fulfillment: John the Baptist (Luke 1:17, KJV)
  2. Second/End-Time Fulfillment: The remnant church with the prophetic gift (Revelation 12:17, KJV)
  3. "Third Elijah" Concept: Some Adventist writers described an additional end-time work that would:

    • Restore unity among believers

    • Prepare the church for Christ's return

    • Apply biblical truth to final crisis conditions

J.N. Andrews on Prophetic Continuity

J.N. Andrews, one of the most influential Adventist theologians, wrote:

He clarified that such prophecy

  • Must align with existing Scripture

  • Cannot establish new doctrine

  • Points believers back to the Bible

The Key Distinction: Application vs. Addition

Adventist pioneers taught that end-time prophets do not "add to" Scripture in the sense forbidden by Revelation 22:18 because

  1. They don't create new canonical books
  2. They don't establish new doctrines independent of Scripture
  3. They apply existing biblical truth to new circumstances
  4. They point to Christ and His Word, not themselves
  5. As Ellen White wrote:

Summary According to Adventist Pioneer Teaching

AspectWhat Revelation 22:18 FORBIDSWhat End-Time Prophecy ALLOWS
CanonAdding new books to ScriptureIlluminating existing Scripture
AuthorityEqual authority with BibleSubordinate to Bible
DoctrineNew doctrines not in BibleApplying existing doctrine
PurposeReplacing ScripturePointing to Scripture
ResultGod's judgmentPreparation for Christ's return

Conclusion

According to Adventist pioneer writers, Revelation 22:18 does not prohibit end-time prophetic ministry because:
  1. Malachi 4:5-6 promises an Elijah-like messenger before Christ's return
  2. Joel 2:28-29 predicts continued prophetic gifts in the last days
  3. Revelation 12:17 describes a remnant with "the testimony of Jesus" (defined as "the spirit of prophecy" in Revelation 19:10, KJV)
  4. Prophetic gifts that point to Scripture without adding to it do not violate Revelation 22:18
The key is that such prophets illuminate rather than supersede the Bible, serving as a "lesser light" leading to the "greater light" of Scripture, always subject to biblical testing and never claiming equal authority with the canonical Word of God.

Still a cult. This thread exposes the error of SDA doctrine with sources and I could not care less what SDA 'pioneers' think because the Bible supercedes them and everyone else trying to wipe out the truth that only the blood of Jesus cleanses from sin.

Who spit in your corn flakes? Who made you so self righteous? I am not defending EG White she can defend herself.

I do stand behind God's laws for his government which are the 10 commandments. The 613 were done away with when Jesus died on the cross as we don't need to kill a lamb anymore and most of those laws were instructional for sacrifices.

Jesus is my Savior and he has paid the price for my sins which I have asked him to forgive me for and I accept his sacrifice in my behalf.

But for you to say that God's 10 commandments are null and void I don't believe. As because I love him I want to obey what he has asked me not to do and what he has asked me to do which are stated in his law that he wrote on stone with his own finger.

I'm sure you will have a lot to say about it and will keep telling me about myself and what you don't like.

I'll be polite. I regret I can no longer think of any reason I should continue to entertain you.

I have had it with the Adventist crowd claiming righteousness by being good little boys and girls while the rest of us mass murderers rely on forgivness of sin through the sacrifice of Jesus.

Get over it.

The church had managed quite well without SDA for 1800 years. SDA insults mighty men of God who rescued the church from the grip of Roman Catholicism and preached the gospel to much of the world. SDA adds nothing of any worth and only produces division and confusion. By all means stay under the law. It was made for people like you. As for reals believers, we know Jesus and we depend on Him, not on our self righteous, feeble attempts to obey the law.
The Bible foretells of the advent movement happening at the end of the 2300 year prophecy, Dan 8:14 in 1844.

& Remember !
"Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God". John 3:3

If you are not born again, into "newness of Life" .. giving up the ol' man and his sinfulness, as in "STOP SINNING," to be as a child again, ... NOT SINNING .!!.. you'll not be seeing heaven, as you seem to think you will. Jesus saves us FROM our sin, by us loving Him and His Righteousness, (not by works) ... Not saving us IN & with our SINS .... Then when and if you are reflecting Christ in you, Gal 2:20 , then you be "Right-doing" = Righteous
NOT SINNING ! as He is Righteous. ... You'll not be sinning ! " For sin is the transgression of the LAW !
1 John 3:4

Eve's original SINNING !! is what got mankind into this "Gospel" the Good News, of John 3:16
If God was just going to let us back into Eden, without Repenting of our SIN, then Jesus would not have had to DIE.

It seems that most so called Christians today, are accepting Jesus as our savior, but then not having a "born again experience, evident by their continued SINNING, & lack of conversion. Evidently not accepting Jesus as the KING, of His Kingdom, with his Law of Love as the foundation. Tis Sad ! You are being deceived by Satan, & his Antichrist, to be the False Prophet of the "UnHoly Trinity" of Revelation 16:13.

Repent ! and STOP SINNING !! and be converted to obedience to God !! has always been God's Message to this sinful world.
.... predominately from Noah, ~> Elijah. Elisah, John the Baptist, the Protestant reformers, EGW and today's SDAs

Great. Y'all should have a great time in White's Adventist 'heaven' . But there will be competition with all the other cults so you may not have first place.

The Bible foretells exactly nothing about the SDA. Y'all are having a moment 🥴

Next you will tell us that John the Baptist actually baptized an SDA 'pioneer' and then foretold the birth of the great smitten in the brain White.

The lunacy of this cult is entertaining at the least and sending people to hell at the worst.
