Was sin forgiven the moment Christ died on the cross, or was it after he was raised on the third day? I've seen scripture supporting both sides of this argument.
Either way, the blood of Jesus covered our sins. In my opinion, the sins were forgiven at the moment of the death of Jesus on the cross. Was sin forgiven the moment Christ died on the cross, or was it after he was raised on the third day? I've seen scripture supporting both sides of this argument.
He died for our sin 1Cor.15:3Was sin forgiven the moment Christ died on the cross, or was it after he was raised on the third day? I've seen scripture supporting both sides of this argument.
He died for our sin 1Cor.15:3
Just before he died He said "it is finished" Jn.19:30
So the consequences of sin (ie.death) was fully dealt with on the Cross.
In regards to being forgiven, that occurs when we believe in Christ for there is no other name in which there is forgiveness of sin and therefore requires our response to the Gospel for effectiveness. The Gospel is the power of salvation Rom.1:16 hence, according to 1 Cor. it is both the Cross and the resurrection that enables salvation and only by believing the Gospel can one enter into the forgiveness that is in Christ. Anyone who rejects the Gospel remains dead in their sin and without forgiveness. Jn.8:24
1Cor.15:3-4
3For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,
Given that both are in the past, I think the question is irrelevant. Was sin forgiven the moment Christ died on the cross, or was it after he was raised on the third day? I've seen scripture supporting both sides of this argument.
The ONE who made Adam in the Garden, was put to death to pay for all past, present and future sins BUT, and there is always a but, to have Christ's death pay your debt for your personal sins you must repent, you must admit you are a sinner which means you have and still are transgressing the Holy Righteous Law of God --- the same exact Law Christ kept with out one transgression and commit your life to growing into the perfection of Jesus Christ. allowing the Father to develop His divine Holy Righteous sinless Nature in you.
yes, baptism is also required, burying the old sinful self in a watery grave
God wants actions not words
Romans 4v25 He was delivered for our offences and raised for our Justification.I read a verse recently it said . “ he died for our sins and raised for our righteousness “ . Can’t recall the location it was one of Paul’s letters Romans or Corinthians.
Disagree. Christ's death on the Cross dealt with everyone's sins whether they repent or not. Our believing in Christ (specifically the Gospel) is what places us into that place of Holiness (which is Christ) by the grace of God whereby we can work out the salvation He has given us and grow to maturity, the full stature of Christ.
God got action, in Christ. It is His action on the Cross that is the only effective means by which our sins are dealt with. Believe it or not.
Note the foreshadow as seen in the OT tabernacle: The high priest entered the Holy of Holies to sprinkle blood from a bull and a goat to atone for sins. The blood covered the mercy seat (the lid of the Ark of the Covenant) to make atonement for the sins and impurities of Israel. (Lev. 16)Was sin forgiven the moment Christ died on the cross, or was it after he was raised on the third day? I've seen scripture supporting both sides of this argument.

Heb 9:11-12 reveals Jesus entered the Holy Place by His own blood...
But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Consider as well that Jesus had not ascended to the Father prior to being seen by Mary after His resurrection. This indicates the blood had not actually been poured upon the mercy seat up until that point.
John 20:17-18
Jesus saith unto her (Mary), Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.
Jesus' sacrifice paid the penalty for the sin of all mankind at that point. And according to the message the Apostle Peter presented at Pentecost, all must obey the commands given in order to take hold of what Jesus died to provide. (Acts2:4-42)
Note: The reference to the holy place in Hebrews pertains to the true tabernacle which scripture reveals is in Heaven."Consider as well that Jesus had not ascended to the Father prior to being seen by Mary after His resurrection. This indicates the blood had not actually been poured upon the mercy seat up until that point."
it is only fresh blood that is poured on the Mercy Seat, which causes a question, how did it get on the Mercy Seat, who poured it and where was or is that Mercy Seat??
Have you ever seen this?? This to me is very plausible. Everything pointing to Christ done in the Temple must be fulfilled,
So you think Christ needed you to repent for Him to fulfill His mission on the Cross?I choose to believe Christ and His 13 apostles -- repentance is mandatory
