It's a long article but talks about her relationship with Twitter

Scroll down to Battle with Depression --- so sad.

America's Next Top Model was also one for bullying - Tyra Banks and her tv crew need to be held accountable.

With the loneliness epidemic and the child famine....we are facing a breakdown of society and the global economy in the next 20 years.
Unless somehow we begin to begin to lose the self righteousness and begin extending grace for the sake of actually having interpersonal relationships....both platonic and occasionally romantic....we WILL be having an armageddon of sorts. It's not a choice....its a reality. People will be eating canned pet food because they cant get normal food.

All because people felt they "deserve better" .......

John DB you don't obviously follow what I post in reply to you.

But thankfully, no more Twitter rubbish.

There's no loniliness epidemic in my country. We're all very connected, its the domestic violence and bullying and child abuse that's more the problem.

Don't make sense sorry.

Don't like 'meat market' type dating on bell curve.

Nothing to do with that. It's about sports competition. If you are the creme de la creme of your chosen field, you will encounter and probably date others at the top.
There's no way that you can't understand such a simple concept. Dating down would mean someone who is more attractive dates someone who isn't as attractive. How is this that difficult to understand? It isn't always about looks. It could be money, status, etc. Let's utilize google and common sense.

Well thats why I asked here, for clarification. We don't use that term in my country, we don't even do dating. We just go to parties and hook up. Nobody here really cares about that sort of thing, its if you get along that's important.

Yeah but it was explained in multiple ways via multiple people. At some point, it isn't an explanation problem and more of a you problem, no? Either that, or you just trolling which I'm here for.

This is what a league actually is

A league is an ancient unit of measurement traditionally defined as the distance a person or horse could walk in one hour. Today, it is generally standardized to 3 miles (approximately 4.8 kilometers) on land and 3 nautical miles (5.56 kilometers) at sea.

Because it is an older, historical measurement, its exact length has varied across different cultures and eras. Here is how a league commonly breaks down:

  • Land League: 3 statute miles (

    km).
  • Sea (Nautical) League: 3 nautical miles (

km), famously used in seafaring stories like Jules Verne's
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (which actually refers to horizontal travel, not depth).
    • Regional Variations: In places like historical Spain and Latin America, the measurement sometimes equated to about 4.2 to 5 kilometers.

You will also frequently encounter the term "league" in fantasy and sci-fi world-building, such as J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, where a league is typically treated as the standard 3 miles

“She’s out of my league” can mean a lady is better in some area of life. She is more sophisticated, educated, nicer, higher class, smarter, sweeter, kinder, more fashionable, better looking, more talented, harder working, more sociable, more spiritually minded, comes from a better family, etc.

As in NZ, we don't measure things in miles, but more kilometres. We also have a very long and windy/hilly geography.

Flying is actually a more direct, faster and quicker way to get to people, but you need to live near an airport to benefit.

If we were to talk about 'out of my league' it would be more geographical distance, than anything else.

Thankfully, I have a lot of americans on here that can explain their weird phrases.

Does this only apply to men describing women?
Often here we would say - she's too good for him.

Meaning, she's a better person than he is. Nobody really wants to go out with a low-life. This is in terms of character.

My favourite sci-fi book was actually 20,000 leagues under the sea by Jules Verne. I read all of it.

Diving underwater is definitely out of my league. I'm a terrible swimmer. I am very happy to go to Kelly Tarltons underwater aquarium though, and not get wet.

I am not sure if women say this about men. Probably. But it is not limited to character. Can refer to many aspects of a person.

She definitely has problems.....there's MANY reasons she is single. But we extend grace....

Hypergamy is not common despite the insistence.....

There's lots of reasons for singleness.
duh,

Why would there be just one.

You have heaps of problems too JohnDB. You post about them all the time. You just dump them on other people.
Your problem is you think you rule the world and everyone has to think like you do. We don't.

Men here just say 'she's too high maintenance' if they think they can't afford to date someone. Its true, some women are, they don't do anything but expect a man to be their ATM. Shocking behavior.

Ummmmm
If I actually ruled the world....
You would notice.

There would be.....
Uh....
Changes.....
