Judging a book

Do people here not want to post pictures/photos of their Bibles? I don't care if they tattered or torn or got holes in them. Just want to see them.
I mean it's no ordinary book.

Often they give different names to the Bible so people don't actually see you reading the Bible, at least not the Holy Bible and suspecting you of being a Jesus Freak. It being not cool. It actually used to be cool to be a Christian believe it or not.

Then there's the book, The Garima Gospels: Early Illuminated Gospel Books from Ethiopia, edited by Judith McKenzie, Francis Watson, and others.

The Garima Gospels are ancient Ethiopian Gospel manuscripts containing the four canonical Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Are you from Ethiopia? Or were missionary there? I don't quite understand, is it a different sort of Bible in translation?

I have read Enoch, Judith and Tobit books but I don't remember any of the others. Jubilee sounds interesting. I've never seen or heard of the Book of the Covenants.
I have read some other gospels like Gospel of Thomas.

I've never read the Book of Mormon but I'm pretty sure it's faked.

My KJV bibles do not have any apochrypha or pseudepigraphical books ...but one of them does have a Bible glossary at the back and maps.
NIVs seem to have a lot of footnotes, as if they couldn't decide on the meanings of the words or which verse was correct.

No. I just find that version interesting.

Enoch is a fascinating read.
I've not sat down and read all the books of the Apocrypha yet,but the ones I have read did not disappoint.

I tried to read the book of Mormon. I just couldn't bring myself to lose myself in it like I do with Bible books.

How the Mormon book came about is a strange tale anyway.

Regarding apocrypha... the Bible is fat enough as it is....not like there's a shortage of paper or anything...but it's the biggest book most people would read cover to cover.

I mean number of pages...not size. You can get tiny bibles that fit right in your hands

i have my physical Bible somewhere but I don't use it anymore when Bibles came out in ebook format. I have two ebook readers - Moon Reader Pro and Kindle Reader.

I also use websites: Bible Gateway, Bible Hub, and Bible App.

I got the Bible cover from Christian Book Distributors a LONG time ago. I looked up the cover but it's not there anymore. It was a quilt design in pastel blue with white flowers. There was also lace edging all around it. It had a matching pastel blue zipper and handles made with the same pastel blue quilt material. I bought two of them and they last a LONG time. I just changed the cover after more then 10 years, so the second is what is on my Bible now.

It encases my Bible that is in pink leather cover.

That Bible has emotional ties - it's part of my history as a Christian, so I won't ever give it away.

Oh you got an actual case/book bag for your Bible?
I don't have one but I've seen them in the Christian book store. I remember buying one for a friend it was purple with sort of quilt stitching, but the only Bible I saw her reading was those cheap pulp paperback ones that churches giving away for free. I don't know if she ever used it.
Some people just chuck their books in their bags and don't even have a separate bag just for books so the pages don't get all smushed, and so you see them take out the their book and the covers are all bent and out of shape and you wonder, if that's how they treat books, how do they treat everything else in life??

something like this, to hold your bible, and maybe a few pens and a notebook, plus bookmark.
Some can zip up, others are just cloth quilted covers with maybe a tab or strap with a button to keep the pages together.

I just had a special tote I put my Bible in, I mean some Bibles can just fit into little handbags. but I'd rather have bags that fit over my shoulder so I can have my hands free.

Handbags are just a silly fashion accessory really when you think about it.
