I don't know, some of them probably not as he is a mechanic and talks about fixing them, something breaks all the time. He also drives trucks and buses and is a driving instructor.
Probably the cheaper cars he fixes them to sell them, but he drives an MG, Mazda, or Audi when I see him.

He was talking about installing my new car radio/stereo, but I've had my car since February and he still hasn't done it.

I can't listen to the radio at the moment because my car is Japanese and the radio bandwith doesn't match NZ.
I can only listen to CDs and I'm running out of CDs
I could watch DVDs too, but I'm not sure how to do that while also driving.

So I did a quick google for wireless radio frequency expanders, that you don't have to take your car radio out and wire in.

Nobody makes wireless band expanders?! They are ALL hardwired things you have to install in the radio?

This seems like such a simple concept. A radio tuner that you can plug into your car dashboard and receive local radio stations, then rebroadcast it in a frequency that the car can pick up.

They have had Bluetooth adapters for years that you can broadcast Bluetooth audio from your phone, then it turns around and rebroadcasts it as FM radio that your car can pick up. Surely somebody can make one that picks up FM radio on New Zealand frequencies and rebroadcasts it in a range that can be picked up by Japanese cars.

No seriously Lynx this is possibly one of the dumbest issues that I ran across working at my dad's mechanic shop - and literally those little bluetooth adapters and the tape-deck to 3.5mm jack cheap Chinese/Japanese quick-fixes were always better than anything we ever got to see from the Audio guys LOL.

In the meantime...

Lanolin does your car have a USB port? Can you load music on a flash drive, plug it in and play from that?

Or does it have a little plug for a headphone jack, that you can plug into your phones music port and play from your phone?
 
I think I would like the log cabin with a lots of vegatables in front of in maybe some fruit three and then maybe invite a group or a person on some dinner or coffee

It doesn't have a USB port, but it does have a cigarette lighter thing (IKR??) that I plug in my USB port that charges my phone. I can play music from that and it comes out of my phone. I haven't tried putting a USB stick/flash drive in that port though. I don't know if that music will come out of my car speakers...
I will try it.

There is no headphone jack. I have earplugs I can plug into my phone but I won't be listening to music in the car with my earplugs in. Though some people walk around with inner wireless ear plugs stuck in their ears like oldies with hearing aids.

Load up some .mp3 files on a flash drive and stick them in, see if the radio will play it.

There are lots of people here who seem to enjoy cabins and gardening...

I bet you're going to have a LOT of visitors, especially with all those fruit trees and the offering of food (and coffee!) :D

the radio doesn't work but the CD player does. Well most of the time. Sometimes it skips or won't play a song. There is also a slot for an SD card, but I've never used an SD card to store music.
