I'm betting that it grieves Jesus that you have absolutely no interest in reading ALL of His Word. Matthew 4:4 and Luke 4:4. This is what I don't understand. If you truly love Jesus with all of your heart, soul, and mind, why don't you want to learn more about Him? Jesus said that the first commandment was the GREATEST COMMANDMENT.

So much judgement on me, wow are you struggling to defend your system?
All you are showing me is your inability to interpret scripture the way it was written.
I don't have a particular system to defend. My only system is a BIBLE based system.
On the other hand, I believe God is in total control. No worries.
I just need to make sure I am with God.

I see it differently.
I see God entrusting us with the Great Commission and being salt and light, that mean we have responsibility/duty and we have immense affect on our world for things getting better or worse.
But ultimately God is sovereign, I agree, in that He has the final say and is active in the lives of Christians, but not to micromanage.
BTW a Generation is about 40 years not 2000 years - just saying - maybe people are still alive today from that generation He was talking to, IDK, just trying to fit everything in somehow
There is a near future event and a far future event that are prophesied in Matthew 24. Now you need to explain when each of these instances happened. If you can't, then it hasn't been fulfilled yet.

LOL, yes and then we have F. Kenton Beshore, president of the World Bible Society, popularized the specific calculation that a biblical generation lasts 70 to 80 years based on Psalm 90:10, applying it to the 1948 rebirth of Israel
I did have to look this up because I forgot how it came about, but this is when I began to realize dispensationalism was a man made construct, ever shifting goal posts to make it fit.
I can explain every one of those verses and have answered some before such as verse 31, and I think verse 30 somewhere, but the thing is it makes no difference at all - because people just ignore the simple explanations and stick to what they got taught from the pulpit.
Jesus tell us to spread good news of Him, but converting people is God's job.
We are not capable of converting people.

Concerning Matthew 24, you have a generation that saw the temple being destroyed in 70 AD and then the chapter goes on to show a future generation witnessing a larger fulfillment of that prophecy upon the return of Jesus Christ Himself. That's how most prophetic books are written.
A big influence on me was reading Horae Apocalypticae (Hours with the Apocalypse) by Edward Bishop Elliott, I think the last edition was 1862, not saying I agree with everything in it.
And secular books such as, The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, a six-volume work by the English historian Edward Gibbon. Also an ancient book
And many other sources
I looked at the teaching of many churches and IMO, all have some truth to teach but a lot of error, and took a lot of time comparing views to come to the conclusions I have now.
I also learnt a lot from a Pentecostal theologian, even though I believe the gifts ceased, and I do not beleive in tongue etc, but that does not mean everything is wrong within a system.
It is ongoing and a lot of work, and a lot of errors on the way, and the one thing I know for sure is, my learning will never be complete ours lives are not long enough, or maybe I should I started earlier, I was more concerned with being a Guitar hero when I was younger rather than seeking scriptural things
