So very sorry to hear this brother. She and I had some words about politics but she was never nasty or personal. She seemed to me to be a Godly woman. I'm sorry for your loss and will add you to my prayer list.

Sorry also for your loss. I lost my father four months ago to dementia. It's a different loss but I can empathize. May God be with you and your family during this time of loss in a special way.

No, most churches' default narrative is based on (pre-existing) marriage. If you're single, that's just a "preparing stage", presuming you'll get married someday, somehow. There's no theology for folks who have nobody to marry and no resources to date.

I don't know why so many smart folks can't distinguish date setting from a rough estimate. "No one knows the day or the hour", but you can surely know the era and the season, otherwise what are all the prophetic signs for? When the disciples asked "what are the signs of your coming", why would Jesus answer them anything if they weren't supposed to know?

We've probably still got a long way to go. I certainly don't expect it in my lifetime.

That might be a blessing though, being spared from the Great Tribulation. You can't be both watchful on the signs and willingly ignorant.

Also, put everything aside for a while, including the "mark of the beast," if you take "IMAGE of the beast" verses literally, it'd be the counterfeit of the image of God, it'll speak, kill and rule, whatever the mark is, it'll just be a mark of your obedience, see Deut. 6:4-8. Think carefully about what it might be - again, not the mark, but the image. Something close to this had only emerged over the past few years, it's not crying wolf anymore.
