The houses that he stayed at were full of sinful people.Except he didn't. He went to a wedding and a private party. Neither is an equivalent of a bar built for selling alcoholic beverages.

Drinking wine doesn't necessarily mean drunk. Understand the difference. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit. - Ephesians 5:18:
Yeah, but those houses were not bars built for selling alcoholic beverages and getting people drunk. False equivalence. The houses that he stayed at were full of sinful people.
I understand it perfectly, therefore I only use wine for cooking, never attend bars built for selling alcoholic beverages and getting people drunk.Drinking wine doesn't necessarily mean drunk. Understand the difference.
So you don't know the difference. Got it.I understand it perfectly, therefore I only use wine for cooking, never attend bars built for selling alcoholic beverages and getting people drunk.
Playing with fire doesn't necessarily mean burnt. Treading water doesn't necessarily mean wet. Using drugs doesn't necessarily mean addiction. Visiting brothels doesn't necessarily mean fornication. Understand the difference. So you don't know the difference. Got it.
No you don't. Jesus went to a wedding and a private party, neither is an equivalent of a bar built for selling alcoholic beverages. "I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of god comes," that's the Lord's own words.I'm totally on board with what you're saying.
You know, coffee has the opposite effect to wine, it gets you sober instead of inebriated, right? In Europe, they have coffee bars, for coffee and desert.
If it's an eatery, cafe or diner, then call it an eatery, cafe or diner, don't call it a bar.I think Christians are obviously aware that getting drunk and living life immorally is wrong.
As far as bars go, I used to go to one everyday. Mind you, my family owned it and I was just popping in to say hi, not have a drink. Out in the country, it was where people went to socialize. Some people would just have a soda.
And what about eateries that are called, Bar & Grill, those are some of my faves! My favorite one serves bull fries. I wouldn't be a proper Okie if I didn't have a nice cold local beer while I enjoy my bull fries!! The only one who outta consider that wrong is the bull![]()

God gave us wine to make our hearts glad. There's no playing with fire if I have some. You seem to want to put guardrails around His Word. There were some religious leaders in the past who did the same and it didn't work out well for them.Playing with fire doesn't necessarily mean burnt. Treading water doesn't necessarily mean wet. Using drugs doesn't necessarily mean addiction. Visiting brothels doesn't necessarily mean fornication. Understand the difference.![]()
It's only for special occasions, not recreative and unlimited consumption, or as a coping mechanism. If there's a guardrail, I didn't put it, Paul did - "And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit. "God gave us wine to make our hearts glad. There's no playing with fire if I have some. You seem to want to put guardrails around His Word. There were some religious leaders in the past who did the same and it didn't work out well for them.
I have nothing against wine, I use it regularly for cooking. The only thing I'm against is dating and the veneration of it by calling it "Christian".And someone else gave us whine to make our hearts sad.
I don't drink whine.
Maybe you drink beer?
My hometown used to be wine country. Up the road from me used to be dozens of vineyards and wine cellars. But, now I think there is only one left.
No you don't. Jesus went to a wedding and a private party, neither is an equivalent of a bar built for selling alcoholic beverages. "I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of god comes," that's the Lord's own words.
The text doesn't say special occasions. You're still adding guardrails. And you keep going to drunk. People can drink without getting drunk. It's called moderation. It's only for special occasions, not recreative and unlimited consumption, or as a coping mechanism. If there's a guardrail, I didn't put it, Paul did - "And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit. "
I live pretty good and free, thank you for your concern.Yes, and in my post I said I don't drink.
Honestly.
How does someone who sounds so miserable and critical as you survive day to day?
Meaning, is this really all you live for?
To constantly belittle other people and show how much better you are?
Apparently it's what gives you a purpose.
I can't imagine waddling in that kind of misery day after day after day, but obviously that's your choice.
