Not sure why my last comment would wind up on a different comment but it did...So I will try it again...

FACT: Jesus had not died nor had he been resurrected when he and the thief was on the cross, so the OT Laws was still in effect...

FACT: The New Testament Contract started AFTER Christ died and was resurrected...since Baptism is to Join in his death and resurrection then the thief nor any one else could have been baptized into HIS Name Before that happened....
Actually, it can be argued that the thief was baptized quite literally in Christ's blood when the spear was thrust into His side.

And even if the thief was bound under the OT covenant, Jesus is the master of the Covenant. Should He choose to make an exception for the thief, He has the authority to do so.

Hey Tony,
I'm not going to yell at you or something. I'm not even mad at all, I'm going to tell you that I'm Catholic, all my life. I know what you're talking about, I've battled with it ever since the Bible made sense to me, made all sense to me. Ever since God spoke to me...
I was confused, very confused. I've been following the Catholic church as far as I can remember, and then I read the Bible, and it struck me, it stared at me. It made me ask who I am. But I'm happy. Why? Because God did all He can to show me the truth. The truth that religion won't save you, but a relationship in faith with Him will. I'm not and will never be in the right place to judge who are Christians and who are not. And I'm still Catholic, but everything that the Catholic church does, I'm not going to point out anything, but everything that the Catholic church does that is against what God's Word says I don't follow, I walk away from it. It was a very hard place to be at, confused, and not knowing what to believe. But I know now, what ever the world says, I will only follow God. No matter what doctrines and traditions and superstitions man adds to the church that is way against the Scriptures, that depends on you. To follow, or not. God said that we should be careful, for not all are what they claim to be.
I hope instead of saying that it's a straight way to hell, maybe we should preach the Good News, and the Truth to them. So that not only us, but they too, will have salvation. I pray for my family too, I hope you do.
God Bless you Tony.

if you are in the catholic church, get out!
it is unbiblical and is based on mans traditions and superstitions. it is purely straight from hell
Darn it Tony! Although I agree that the Catholic church is extremely heretical, you're giving professional trollers of the Catholic church (me) a bad name!

Don't be so blunt about it man

If the Catholic Church does things that are against what God's Word says... and you walk away from it, why be in the Catholic Church at all? If you know it's a false teaching, why associate with it? You can't just say parts of it are wrong. If any part of it doesn't line up with God's Word then have nothing to do with it.
This doesn't only apply to the Catholic Church, but to any denomination that has doctrine that does not line up with God's word.

?.... many churches of many denominations do a lot of things that are against Gods word... I'm catholic and I also do walk away from what is not right... but I still think that since the Roman Catholic Church was established by the Lord (you can also say by the apostles) Why would I leave it? Coming down to the main point its this.. all of us Christians are to follow the word of God to the best of our abilities.. and to follow the commandments and live by the grace and truth that Jesus saved us all from our sins... and to love one another. Nobody (only God, are you God?) can make any judgments.Nobody can make any judgmental opinions (straight forward or between the teeth) against any other church that is trying to follow Christ. I will say this tho.. the real Catholics (Christian Catholics whatever, you know what I mean) never had said you will go to hell if you follow this other church (church that is known to follow Christ).. why because we are nobody to judge and we take in to consideration that any other denominations can be trying hard to follow the same God Jesus. Thats my two cents..

P.S. Ive seen may comments and all I can say that people tend to be too prideful.. and we have nothing be boasting we all sinners. The only thing we can be prideful is Jesus saved us. I can honestly read many comments or opinions are full with intentions to hurt.. and that is sad..

God bless.

But there's NOTHING the Catholic Church does that goes against the Word of God. There may be things we do that contradict people's personal interpretations of God's Word, but that's not the same as contradicting God's Word itself.

The catholic church goes against Yahvah God, it may not go against it's own god but it does against Almighty Yahvah God who made heaven and earth and all things in them.

They have deceived many with there religion.

Did Peter not tell us this:

19We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

this is why Jesus is calling for His people to come out of her! so that they will stop participating in all her idolatry

your testimony fits the first part of Revelations to a T, when describing the seven churches and rebuking them for their wrong practices. Jesus see's a FEW who have not participated and will be found worthy to wear the white robe, in all but one of the churches there are only a FEW that will be chosen. notice importantly that the faithful church was not the wealthy church, again Christ is calling His children to come out of these institutions of corruption, personally I see smaller house churches to be more effective in discipleship than the mega churches that hardly allow for any personal fellowship and day in and day out mentoring

I would be glad to if you would like to sign up for my free Bible studies and be willing to study point A to point Z in an orderly manner...without wanting to skip around....There is a purpose in orderly study...there is so much hogwash that has been taught over the years that the study must be done step by step to see the difference and how it all comes together....

But I will leave you with this verse and it is BIBLICAL (Not me) you stated that my fact about WHEN we are sealed with the Holy Spirit was wrong....So I will leave this Scripture for you to think about.....

Acts 2:38 (KJV)
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost

Not my Words but Peter...

I'm sorry but are you telling me that for you to answer biblical questions in a way that I will understand you, that I must first study the bible with you from A-Z. I think you sound alittle like Jim Jones

The Catholic Church does not go against Yahvah God. It is the Church founded by Yahvah as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew. Your quote from St. Peter helps answer things, thanks for bolding the relevant part.

When you engage in private interpretation, you will end up getting confused and lost. That's how it's possible to end up so mixed up that you confuse the Church Christ founded (the Catholic Church) with the teachings of the devil.

Of course that still leaves the problem of if you claim the Holy Spirit taught you one thing and someone else claims the Holy Spirit taught them something else; then who is right?

>.> really? Tell me have you actually taken the time to actually research what Catholics do... or you speak out of ignorance.. Ive been in many Christian denominations.. I do not know if the guy who initiated this thread is truly a troll or not but its sooo sad that many of you brothers and sisters and Christ talk falsely about other Christians.. and then you boast of how many years you have studying the bible and how your touched by the holy spirit and spit venom out of your mouths like if you were closer to God. You should not boast of any of that but Jesus.. not you have been in the church or the acts you have done..

Idols.. brother you know your actually testifying falsely against your neighbor.

Worship? Worship... then when we go down on our knees in front of the cross or the altar are we worshiping the cross or the altar.. really now then we all have worshiped the altar or the wall.. do you know that those images that you call idols those statues that you call idols are but tools or religious objects.. worship.. we pray and only the true Catholics will tell you we dont worship the cross or the images..

Oh, Heaven help us if we dare to kneel in prayer before a cross!
