Because passing on the right is technically illegal and some people need to learn what the left lane is used for.
Which brings up another question, why do people feel the need to drive 5 miles under the speed limit in the left lane?

In all seriousness, I think Chevys are great vehicles. Most of my friends own GMC or Chevrolet, so we have a friendly rivalry. Ford paint seems better, Chevy Transmissions seem better. There was that whole thing about needing a bailout to keep making cars, but I'll leave that one alone.

I can be driving 10 mi over the limit in the right lane with the passing lane completely free, and some guy will be right on my bumper.... I just don't get it....
People shouldn't be driving in the left lane unless they are passing or turning left at some point.

tailgating is impatience and too many people get into wreck/accidents over them. it's stupid...

And I agree with lightning, it is drafting and you're gas mileage does go up.
On a side note I have noticed that men in general seem to pay more attention when they drive. Whenever I drive with my mom or sister it freaks me out...
