hahaha! woooow that was actually really good!!!

It has everything to do with reciprocation.

If I don't know if I like you or not but you seem nice. I'm going to be nice to you. I'll probably bring you coffee, show you attention, and hang out with you. You might say thank you but if I continued to do this and the only response I received was thank you. I will happen less often and we will just be friends.

Like if I bring her coffee and flowers and she not only flirts with me but everyone else too. I'm not going to ask her out. Body Language has much to do with this too. Its the difference between being a "nice guy" and being "special"

BUT, if you (she) brings me coffee and/or makes me a sandwich and comes into my world to hang out with me. This will only escalate things. We will become an "item" and date and do loads of stuff together.

So in a sense its like playing tennis. If I serve a couple of balls into her side of the net, she might feel smitten and flattered but, if she never hits any back. Our match will not move forward.

Because I've been both guys in your scenario. Technically speaking you might have rejected them both but, the first one is okay with it and the second one probably took it personally.

as a side note. I find an argument to be an amazing form of flirtation. Because it shows mutual respect, intelligence, and civility. And not everyone takes it that way, so I can sometimes feel really good about someone, when at the same time, they hate everything about me. :D

Umm...if you tell guy #1 that you have feelings for him and he says he just wants to be friends, comes back later and claims to have been rejected, he should come with a visible spontaneous combustion button. :D

We should patent this:

Yellow = I just want to be friends
Red = Go away. You annoy me.
Green = Interested

I will say this though, Nice guys have a conscience that tells them that perhaps asking a girl out is not going to be in the best interest of either of them, even if it seems like at that moment, there is no one else that makes sense.

Now I'm in a quandary. Does this mean I'm not one of those moody girls, or I am one of those moody girls because I find this to be so hysterically funny?

That would make two of us, I suppose.....

I don't get the part that says "If it's blue you should call her and ask her out immediately, because she'll probably say yes."

WHY DO GUYS WANT TO GO OUT WITH GIRLS WHO ARE LIKE THAT?!?!?!?!?!?

Just wondering :)

On the mood thing:

"I bought my wife a mood ring. It really works. When she's in a really bad mood, it leaves a big ugly imprint on my forehead."

I have a friend girl who I've told I like her as a friend repeatedly but she won't listen, she isn't going to stop being my friend since our families are quite close. I'll just keep telling her we're friends. Ok? That is a question.

I lost my mood ring and I don't know how i feel about this.

Meaning: You just want to be friends, but she wants to be more than friends, and you don't know how to discourage her without hurting her feelings?

Sometimes you just have to lay things down bluntly with no coating. It's a harsh reality in life. The thing is, there are times nothing will change until you do (and even then sometimes that doesn't help in sticky situations).

Its funny because both families expect us to be together & ... you guys are funny.

Mr. Honest, talk to both your parents and her dad. Let your parents know that you are not interested in this girl and that their actions are helping to give her mixed signals. Tell them, that while she is a friend, you see her nothing more then a sister, and that you have no attraction for her and that you have told her that multiple times. But that they are trying to pressure you into dating her is probably making her have hope when there is none.

Then I would talk with her dad, and let him know that while you admire his daughter, you are not attracted to her and do not want to hurt her.And that you are afraid she's getting mixed signals from the parents wanting y'all to date and you letting her know as gently as possible that she is nothing more than a friend. Make sure you are very tactful about this though, when you talk with the dad. Just remember, he probably thinks of her as his little princess, and if anyone disrespects his princess, you can bet he'll go for blood.

^^^^I agree with Violakat, you'll probably have to just be honest, Mr. Honest. :(

However, you might be able to soften it a bit by saying that you don't think that you're the right guy for her; that way it comes off more like you're rejecting yourself, yet it's still the truth (which I know is very important to you :))
