I tend to be attracted nerdy guys with interesting hair. "Nerdy" for all intents and purposes can be defined here as willing to sit through a three hour board game on a regular basis. Extra points to those willing to sit through a twelve hour board game. The interesting hair part is mostly important on account of my horrible memory for faces out of context. But, if you have a giant beard or afro or long hair or pink hair, then, I'll probably be able to recognize you. I also think that glasses are cute.

It's much harder for me to define what I don't find attractive because, honestly, I think I filter out most of that.

Yeah I play board games until someone wins. Sometimes all night.

I thought about it, if u request a prayer who am I to comment. you didn't ask for advice u asked for prayers. so I'm doing just that.happy hunting! xoxo

^ NOT a nerd. Board games involve other people, discussion, social ability, etc... The ones that get me are those who lock themselves in their rooms and play first person shooters for years on end. THOSE people are nerds.

Nerds are defined as people who are passionate about something that is not culturally popular or are highly academic. People who play first person shooter games may be nerds, but not all nerds play first person shooter games. Also, there are many nerds who are social, but they do tend to be awkward in an overall sense. To imply that nerds are socially inept is a fallacy. We nerds gather in many places. Ie Comic Con, Blizzard Conferences, tons of tournaments, various "nerdy" movies such as Star Wars, Trekkie conferences, etc. The list could do on and on. Personally, I find nerdy guys very attractive. They're smart, funny, they get my pop culture references, they tend to be more moral than the general populace, etc. Being a nerd is awesome. It's the new sexy.

No offense, but YOU sound like a nerd and that's not sexy except to another nerd.

Nerds arent sexy....that must be another crazy conspiracy of yours. Because its definitely false.

I have a tendency to feel that nerdiness is a culture, and it makes sense to want to attract someone of a similar culture anyway.

Depends on the nerd. And who's judging.

HEHEHE! I KNEW you would say that. :)

That's cute. You're cute. Because of you, I'm becoming nerd friendly :)

PEACE!

I AM a nerd! And proud of it! :) And I'm not really worried about who I'm sexy to and who I'm not. I don't have time to worry about what everyone thinks about me.

Didn't say I was one

I know. You don't have to state that you are something for me to state an opinion that you are not something.

The legal right for me to state an opinion that you are not something without you first having to state it yourself is encompassed in the first amendment (e.g. freedom of speech) of the Bill of Rights which is part of the United States Constitution.

The human right to state an opinion should be obvious.

I hope this have been informative. Enjoy your non-nerd activities.

But where would the world be without nerds? Bill Gates, Albert Einstein, Thomas Jefferson (I'm guessing these people were the nerds of their day...) etc.

I consider myself to be a nerd and who cares if that's sexy or not?

I have a great family, good friends, feel secure about my future, and a God who doesn't give a flying leap as to what kind of social label I might obtain, because He made me to be whatever it is that I am, labeled or not. And, I am attracted to people from all different groups... and in general, the same can be said of them to me as well.

GOD BLESS THE NERDS! :D

Like another poster already mentioned, it's not so clear cut. Bill Gates loved to play board games growing up which is a very social and relational activity. BUT, few alternatives existed when he was young. As soon as he discovered computing, he dumped the social and relational activities like board games and locked himself in the library with Paul Allens and that's all they ever did until their ejection from college due to amassing heavy bills relating to telephony as a result of their unauthorized computing activities.

Einstein definitely was a nerd. Spent all his time in a patent office looking at new inventions.

Thomas Jefferson was assuredly NOT a nerd. I have no idea where you got the idea he was.

Ha ha ha... In my nerd-om, I was thinking of Thomas EDISON, but had just read something about politics so... running thoughts that crashed together.

I'm just saying, there's absolutely no reason for anyone to think there's something wrong with being a nerd. I don't see anything wrong with it, anyway.

It bothered me in high school but I'm a few years away from that now. :) Sorry to derail the thread for a quick minute but for all of you out there who get made fun of for being different, hang in there!!! A few years ago, one of the (then) most popular girl in school came in to where I worked and said, "Wow, you don't look any different than in high school!"

Well of course I do, a bit... But it's funny--one of the main reasons people laughed at me was because I didn't drink or party. Let's just say, of the ones I've seen... The partying eventually catches up to them... and it shows.

I'm only adding my thoughts because we have a lot of young people here in the forum, and I don't want anyone out there who gets called a "nerd" to think they have something to be ashamed of. Or that somehow God loves them any less.

Well yes Edison was a nerd. He spent most of his youth at a telegraph machine interpreting and sending dots and dashes... obvious signs of classic nerdom.
