I probably don’t have them latest data, but we have a Daniel scroll from Qumran that can be positively dated to circa 125 B.C.. Internal evidence within the scroll indicates that it is a copy of a much earlier scroll, circa 350 B.C., before either Rome or Greece had become world powers. Chaldee words within the scroll, no longer in common usage, indicate that the original MSS was written around the time of the Babylonian empire. Furthermore, conservative Jewish rabbis accept Daniel’s authorship. So yours is an interesting idea, but I don’t believe it can be supported.
