<snip> It is an antichrist bible because it does not confess that Jesus is come in the flesh.

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. - 1 John 4:2-3 (King James Bible)

This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. - 1 John 4:2-3 (New International Version)

Do you really see that big of a difference here: is come in the flesh. . . .has come in the flesh?
It reads the same to me save for one is in the present tense and one is in the past tense.

I am not English, and the KJV is perfectly well understood by me. I see no point in changing it to more UNDERSTANDABLE English. The Word of God is given in by God to REVEAL, and it is not for understanding or elf interpretation. If God does not reveal the MESSAGE and Truth in that Word, no use you read ANY BIBLE!

Jesus said.... FATHER I THANK YOU THIS BIBLE IS NOT FOR THE WISE AND THE PRUDENT, but for BABES AND the HUMBLE AT HEART. Wise people will NEVER GET THE TRUTH! The Truth is in the KJV, I am sure, and I am sure if Jesus does not reveal it to you, you will NEVER GET THE TRUTH, and KNOW THE TRUTH and be made free by the TRUTH.

I think the Bible is revealed/multiplied and SHOWN by God to people that wants to live IN TRUTH... IN HIS WORD. You see the Bible (for me the KJV and the Afrikaans OLD TRANSLATION) makes 100% sence. the others are confusing.

Here is one FATAL error by just leving out ONE LITTLE WORD... the Word "HOLY"

In 2 Peter 1:21, God says this... For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Some versions leave out the word HOLY before men, and if we study the Bible we know the difference of HOLY MEN and MEN is JESUS CHRIST. You see it is Jesus in a man that makes the man holy. A man does not have Jesus in him. but a Holy man does. So the one Bible, KJV says.... HOLY MEN OF GOD SPAKE MOVED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.... other bibles does not. And only HOLY MEN are moved by the HOLY SPIRIT.

Men = man like me... sinner and normal human.
Holy MEN OF GOD = God's men and not sinners but HOLY, and moved by the HOLY GHOST! Jesus in them, NOT human, but heavenly kingdom men!

That is how powerful the Word of God is when God gave it for Doctrine, and reproving and correction. How can I correct aperson that says MEN PROPHECIED... if I do not know HOLY MEN prophecied? See the huge mistake in some versions... By justleaving out ONE LITTLE WORD... HOLY!

Nice Post Cobus :)
Anyone ever notice also how other bible translations seem to focus on trying to ..... "correct" the KJV
but not each other ;)

Just as all believers are distinct yet we have our commonality in Jesus, Yeshua; so it is with the Word, Yahweh has given us many versions all containing His truth, providing the Holy Spirit imparts it. Our Father is so wonderful and loving. He knows every hair on our head and cares, and He knows what each of us needs to please Him, even supplying a version of the Word for each's personal needs. How gracious is our Father, Almighty and Meek, amen.

I grew up with the NIV and I'm a Christian and have been for as long as I can remember. I've had difficult times in my faith walk but I've never questioned the divinity of Christ etc.

I don't mind the KJV either. I have nothing against it at all because it is the version I grew up with...but it becomes a problem when people say that the other versions are heretical and blasphemous. Guess what. Jesus never spoke English to begin with. He spoke Aramaic and Greek :) So to say the KJV is the one and only authorized version is quite a misunderstanding of the manuscripts. It becomes a problem when people say I shouldn't use the NIV. I use it out of preference like any one else. There are words in the KJV that are not used the same way anymore. I gave two examples earlier: Suffer and Prevent. The new translations are an aid to help keep up with the evolving English language since it is always changing. That's the only reason for it. It's not to try to prove which version is more accurate. The same goes for the rest of the versions. :)

[h=1]Mistranslation and Misinterpretation Leading to Great Obscurity Among Many Faces

7/25/07 From The Lord, Our God and Savior - A Letter Given to Timothy, For a Sister in Christ, and For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear

Question regarding Genesis 9, where Noah drank too much wine, and Ham, his son, saw him naked and uncovered: Some churches and Christians believe and teach that Noah cursed Ham and his son because Ham committed a homosexual act with Noah, while Noah was drunk from the wine. Others believe that Ham had sexual relations with his mother, while Noah was drunk from the wine, and this is why Canaan and Ham were cursed. And still others believe that Ham impregnated his mother, while Noah was drunk from the wine, who later gave birth to Canaan. These same churches use Leviticus as “evidence” for their belief... Lord, are these teachings correct?

[The Lord answered] Beloved daughter, you seek Me and this is very good, for all who seek Me in this way shall be lifted up. Behold the day is coming quickly, when you shall be refreshed and made new, beauty of such a kind which never passes away, nor shall it ever depart from you again. For you shall receive of Me anew, renewed and restored, a light shining within you which never fades, nor can it flicker, nor can it be extinguished, for where I am you will be also... Life without end. Amen.
So then, My beloved, hear and understand that which I have spoken through Timothy already. And be very careful that you do not deny My word, nor add to, nor take away from it. I am The Lord.

For if I come to uplift and take you,
You being of My body, My bride, The Church,
Then I shall surely correct and discipline you...

Even I shall do likewise unto all these churches of men,
Even unto all who bear My name...

For I do love them, yet their robes have become soiled,
And are very unseemly in My sight,
Not at all befitting servants of The Lord.

Therefore I have sent to them My prophets, even to the great outpouring of My own Spirit, so they might receive of Me in abundance, by which they would be led into true discernment, a greater revelation of who I truly am. For I am The Word, and if I am The Word, even The Cornerstone of all truth and prophecy, its very fulfillment, then these who seek to partake of Me must first wash their faces, and they must do so with clean hands. Then will they see well enough to go out and cleanse their filthy robes... Yet they will not go out, nor have they received.

Here is truth and wisdom concerning these blasphemies, of which you have accepted in part, even making some of them your own: In the days of Noah there was much violence and great perversion upon the face of the whole earth. And so the wrath of God came upon all the inhabitants of the earth in those days, and none were saved except those appointed, who had walked uprightly before God, obeying His every word... These, having hearts which were right and good, were spared.
Yet I tell you, if even one of these eight souls were not of a right heart before God, neither would that same one have entered into the ark. For all those, who were appointed unto wrath, received of wrath and were consumed. Yet these eight, who abided not as the multitude, but chose instead the way of The Lord, holding fast to a more perfect way, trusting and obeying the voice of The Lord their God, were credited unto righteousness. So then, by no means, did these of Noah’s household commit that which is a disgrace to their father and to themselves, even to the committing of that which is worthy of death.

Beloved, you see with tainted eyes, through a veil covered with scarlet and purple. Remove this veil, and wash away all this mud with which you have been splattered, and see with greater eyes. See according to righteousness, and now look upon these who were saved by God’s own hand, with new eyes; for they had been accounted worthy to escape and were lifted up above the waters, though they remained in the midst of them... Look no more for sin and disgrace, where none exists!

Do not add to, or take away from,
The Word of The Lord Most High!...

What is written, LET IT STAND...

Seek The Lord only, in humility,
And your eyes will indeed be opened...

For only The Lord may add to His Word,
So you may come into a greater understanding,
Yea, an unveiling of the Word’s majesty,
Both brilliant and subtle.

Beloved, hear and understand, and be very wise when discerning these things presented to you by those in the churches. Become wise according to this wisdom, which I have given you, and listen NOT to the churches of men. Stop your ears from hearing the arrogant speeches of their scholars, and turn away from all their men in authority. For I do not know them! Their doctrines are their own and very perverse in My sight!
For they seek glory for themselves and have corrupted their ways before Me, even as they do continually pervert My Word and pollute My name before many witnesses; always seeking out the darkness in men, to expose it, while they themselves hold onto judgment, embracing every contemptuous word and deed. Therefore, this is what I say to them, “Cleanse your hands, you filthy sinners! Sanctify your hearts, you double-minded hypocrites! For the day is coming, and is already here, when all you have built shall be brought down! Behold, it shall fall with a great crash! And all you have wrought shall be tried, it shall surely be tested, and you shall be found wanting!... For the Day shall declare it!”

Know and understand this also: The translations of My Word by men are greatly erred, and lead many into an even greater misinterpretation of My Word, which is coupled with the pride and arrogance of the churches of men, who seek not the Truth as it was written by the children of God, in their own language, by which one is better able to see the Word as it really is and was meant to be.
For eight upright souls, who held fast to the strict uprightness of their father, entered into the ark; and nine went forth from the ark, as it was written. Yet you continue in your assertion, that Canaan must have been born of Ham’s mother by incest. Here is wisdom: How can Noah curse the name of his son’s son in anger, even calling him by name, if that son is not yet born, nor named? Therefore, you do greatly err.
And beloved, who having committed an act of abomination, in secret, then proclaims it before his brethren? And who having his own wife, being upright before The Lord, seeks to lie with his mother in his father’s own tent? And who being upright in heart, abiding by the strict moral code of his father, commits an act of abomination with him?!... BLASPHEMY! For if such as you or these churches imagined were so, I would have destroyed Ham in that same moment, and his offspring with him!... Therefore, no such act took place.
You lack knowledge, and have no understanding of the will of The Lord your God. For it was I, by Noah, who cursed Canaan, even from the beginning, long before this nation was established. Thus the will of God was fulfilled according to prophecy, for that done in a moment of anger was according to shame and not disgrace, of which came to be written and was also fulfilled.

Thus, here is the sum of the matter...

Noah did not speak of his own accord against his son, nor his son’s son,
Who were both standing nearby to Noah’s tent...

Rather Noah prophesied of that which was fulfilled,
And came to pass, according to MY will...

I AM THE LORD.

I love when people copy and paste from websites because they don't read what they copy and paste. They just copy and paste thinking it sounds good. The part of not adding to God's book is applied only to the book of Revelation and to the Bible. It was NOT referring to the King James Version for this reason: it was not written before A.D. 100. That Scripture refers only to Revelation. This is a verse that most KJVOnlyists take out of context to support their own views and it's an incorrect hermeneutic.

I sure do peacefulbeliever,

every word of God is important. If you change just one word in the Bible, it can effect an entire Bible doctrine, if you don't think so. Just get a King James Bible and get a New World Translation bible (Jehovah's Witness bible) and go to John 1:1. And read both passages and you'll see exactly what I am talking about.

Let me show you what nearly all of the new versions do in 1 John 4:3, now I am going to first give you the correct and perfect reading from the God-honoured King James Holy Bible. And then I will give you the incorrect reading which nearly all the new versions have in this passage:

Correct and true reading of 1 John 4:3

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Incorrect and False Readings of 1 John 4:3
New International Version (©2011)
but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

New Living Translation (©2007)
But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here.

English Standard Version (©2001)
and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.

Holman Christian Standard Bible (©2009)
But every spirit who does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist; you have heard that he is coming, and he is already in the world now.

NET Bible (©2006)
but every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God, and this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and now is already in the world.

American Standard Version
and every spirit that confesseth not Jesus is not of God: and this is the'spirit of the antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it cometh; and now it is in the world already.

Douay-Rheims Bible
And every spirit that dissolveth Jesus, is not of God: and this is Antichrist, of whom you have heard that he cometh, and he is now already in the world.

Now Peacefulbeliever, let me ask you a question out of all those new translations which I displayed, that is in their rendering of 1 John 4:3. What happened to the phrase: IS COME IN THE FLESH?

You compare a Christian translation with a non-Christian translation? Why? I don't think Christians use JW translations.

Thank you all for your comments, you all are very educated on scripture. I am going to make a stand at this point in my life and say it is KJV for me only. I was so hungry for Gods Word back in 2010, I believe I was saved in 2011 but I was searching all of 2010. Anyway I could not make sence of the KJV and I would get very frustrated. One day a fellow christian told me to pray and ask for the Holy Spirit to come and Join me while I read Gods Word and bring me knowledge and understanding of Gods Word. And I prayed and opened up my KJV Bible and it absolutely sang to me tears were in my eyes. Thanks for all your posts.

Tintin,

I was trying to illustrate a point to peacefulbeliever about the grave importance of having every word of God.

True Reading

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. - John 1:1 (King James Bible)

False Reading

In [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god. - John 1:1 (New World Translation)

That just shows you Tintin that adding only one word to Scripture can change an entire Bible Doctrine.

Also, you obviously know that the New World Translation is not a Christian Translation. You are correct when you say that. But did you know that the verses which the NIV omit from Scripture like Matthew 17:21, Matthew 18:11, and others are the same verses that the NWT omits? Do a comparative study sometime and see for yourself. Take a NWT bible and a NIV bible and open them up and look up the following verses:

Matthew 17:21, Matthew 18:11, Matthew 23:14, Mark 7:16, Mark 9:44, Mark 9:46, Mark 11:26, Mark 15:28, and Luke 17:36. Just to start with. And you will see that the verses that these verses which the NIV omits from the text are the very same verses that the NWT also omits from their text.

That is absolutely wonderful Hal51! Praise the Lord. I commend you for your decision to take a stand for the King James Bible and to convert to it. I pray that God will bless you as you continue in His pure and perfect word. I am sure that your new journey with the right Bible will be exciting. It may be like the time when you just got saved.

Congratulations Hal51 on your decision to convert over to God's pure words. Amen.

I've read several Bibles - NIV, KJV (not the original 1611 version of course), TNIV, NKJV.
I have several others on my shelf - even a JW NWT :)
I have dozens in e-sword.

There are some 'bad' versions in my opinion (TNIV, for example, was so bad even the authors disassociated themselves from it eventually) but most do what was meant - they help to spread the good news of Jesus and Kingdom of God.

I would say I prefer the NKJV (though I may use the New English Bible or New European Version as their wording is sometimes better). However whenever I read Psalm 23 in anything but the KJV it just seems wrong :) Years of indoctrination even before I became a Christian!!! :D

To those who quoted the list of missing verses in NIV please note -
1John 5:7 is not just missing from the NIV - almost everyone omits this verse (actually they omit part of text). In fact KJV and NKJV are the only versions that have it in as far as I can see...

Guess I will just continue to use the NIV and condemn myself to Hell.

EDit;

I also feel sorry for all the non-English speaking people in the world who are also all going to hell as they can not understand English and therefore unable to read the King James Bible.

KJVOnlyists seem to forget that God and Jesus never spoke English. Jesus spoke Aramaic and GREEK. The modern versions come from the manuscripts written in the language Jesus spoke. I have nothing against the KJV but making a decision out of fear of going to hell is the influence of KJVOnlyists. The KJV is NOT THE ONE AND AUTHORIZED VERSION...It was NEVER authorized by King James in the first place! Some people need to really do their research outside of the KJVOnlyist history-biased pages. -_-

It is pathetic the way NIV is attacked, its not blasphemous or from satan, we dispelled and disproved the ridiculous claims about changed verses, missing verses etc, the NIV has nothing to hide, what part of "the differences are noted in the footnotes" do people not understand?

Its not like people who wrote NIV are saying you have to read this and nothing else, unlike groups like Jehovah witnesses who only read thier Bible and no one elses and are told to interpret it in a certain way.

You're aware that the KJV is also a translation, with omissions and additions of its own right? Everything in italics in the KJV is an addition, most of it is innocuous but sometimes it does change meaning significantly...

You're aware that the KJV is also a translation, with omissions and additions of its own right? Everything in italics in the KJV is an addition, most of it is innocuous but sometimes it does change meaning significantly...

Yes I am aware that the King James Holy Bible is a translation, but a translation can be inspired if God is involved in the process.

Also, when it comes to the added words in Italics, all translations add words when translating from the Hebrew and Greek language into the English Language. But do you know what? The King James Bible translators were honest about it when the translators of the new versions are not. You see, that is why the KJV translators put the added words which were not in the Greek in Italics to let the reader know that these words were not a part of the Greek Text. That just shows you the honesty and integrity of the King James Bible translators.

Now, let me ask you this: Does the NIV put the words which they add in italics? Does the ESV? Does the NLT? No. They do not.

Check out this video on Italics by Sam Gipp. I believe it will help you:

Can you tell me what Non-English speaking people are meant to read? If reading anything other than the English King James is so bad, then as I said previously, they are all doomed for reading something other than the King James, if they are not doomed, then of course that means it dosnt really matter what version of Bible you read, so this King James only stance is ridiculous.
