Is this the same as slolem water skiing? I've always wanted to do it .. Never tried .. My dad lives in Alaska an sent me some hand made Eskimo snow shoes.. I've always thought how fun it would be to do a little back country scouting this way.. Snow mobiles and jet skis are my favorite.. And I'd love to have a sand dune buggy!!!!!! Ooh my adventurous side is aching to do something ...I feel a hike with camping gear coming on!! Thanks I needed this read..cooking a fish over a campfire sounds wonderful!
Time is closely arriving to do so !
Response to a post from another thread. Thought it fit here better and didn't want to derail their thread.
Water-skiing and snowboarding require some different skills but they are very similar because of the use of balance. For the most part, in water-skiing you are focusing on one direction, forward, and learning how to pop up out of the water to the top of the water is tough. I hear it is lot like skiing once you get on top of he water. With snowboarding, you can slide in any direction 360 degrees. Once you get moving it is easier to maintain one direction although you can change to sideways, backwards, or whichever direction you want. Slalom snowboarding is a lot of fun. One of my favorite things is to whip down a hill really fast back and forth til I either make it to the bottom or wipe out. lol I suspect that you would like it a lot. It is definitely a thrill seeker's sport.
I have never water-skiied, snow mobiled, or dune buggied but all of those sound like a blast.
Back in my high school days I did a lot of skateboarding. I hopped on one back in January and discovered that I can still do it. I'm such a kid at heart when it comes to certain things. lol
A friend of mine moved to Hawaii this past year and we are in the talks of me coming for a visit. I have always wanted to learn to surf in either California or Hawaii or somewhere the REAL waves are.
Even though I live right in the big city limits, when the weather is warm I usually cook my dinner on my stone fire pit in the back yard. I am one of the only people in the city limits that has a fire pit. I looked up all the city regulations before I built it and everyone around always asks, "How can you have one of these in the city?" lol
Anyways, I have rambled on long enough. It is cool to find out that you like all of these kinds of things too, Michelle. It is nice to find out that someone else shares in my bizarre interests. lol
