Perhaps putting the spin on it that you did was the problem. I did demonstrate how the question could have been read without casting the other person in the role of a mass murderer.
You need to go to the conspiracy and corruption thread and repeat this. I get accused daily of being a murderer because I am a Democrat.. LOL...

Oh dear :censored::cry: Well, I think the issue some have with supporting deocrats comes down to abortion, and it does seem to be contradictory (not you, but the stance) to say one supports life and rights to life etc while allowing millions to be butchered before they are allowed to take their first breath. Hot button topics get lots of heat...

The people who banned me, could have used constructive communication. Right know I still don't know what the problem is. Maybe they got offended by my question. Then they could have asked about, why I asked it. My purpose wasn't to offend them.
Maybe they're just anal. Personally, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Your beliefs look quite Buddhist, which is in many ways as structured as any religion, even though Buddhism does not even necessarily embrace a belief in God. If one truly wants to know God, shouldn't they look at what God says about Himself? The problem here is that the natural man does not accept the things of God. The un-regenerated want to define God according to their terms, instead of His.

I would say, that we should use the source we have trust in as the truth. Some believe the truth has been delivered to us in a book.

(I haven't seen your message until now)

Which book? What books do you derive truth from? Jesus said He is the Truth. He said He is the only way to God. He promised to reveal Himself to those who diligently and sincerely seek Him. The conundrum of course is that God knows none are truly seeking Him before they are sealed by the Holy Spirit... but people are seeking truth. That truth is embodied in the Person of Jesus Christ.

That is why I generally vote Republican as I am very much pro-life. You are right also in that its a hot button topic that gets lots of heat.

Then the book must be these peoples source of authority and they can place trust in what is written in it. I don't have such a book I follow.

Hopefully you understand my point.

And as far as abortion goes. My daughter is living proof of my beliefs in abortion. I would never consider such! I recall having a convo. with OP that accused me of being a murderer. And I challenged him to repeat this to my face and see if he would'nt get a bat to the head! This is how much I detest abortion!( For the record. LOl)

If you have not derived your beliefs from any source outside yourself, or checked them against what you consider to be other valid sources, how then did you arrive at them? Or how can you know they are correct if completely self generated and/or unaligned with any greater held truth? A lot of non-believers seem to think Christians believe in God because of the Bible, but in such cases they may actually have it backwards. Speaking for myself, I believe the Bible because of my belief in God. Do you understand the difference?

This is good to know about you but that bat to the head might be a bit problematic. :)

A good question :)

I will try to define it, but it isn't easy for me, and my words may be understood differently by others than what is my intention.

I trust in a law of life, that makes me have peace when I'm able to give up the idea of having a self, because I trust that I then follow the law of life best.

It's an understanding I've come to by listening, reading and sensing.

Do I know it's the truth? No. But I trust it's the right direction for me, and that it will open up for further understanding to follow it.

Jesus said in the bible that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. This might be something to consider in your quest to know the truth. As the quote from Sherlock Holmes goes, "After you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth".

Another person's life is'nt for me to judge or forgive. This is for God and God alone. For He is the One that gave Man" Free Will". We will all be judged in the end...
