I sometimes hear witty
though harmless jokes about the Bible and Jesus, I cannot help but laugh as long as they are not really offensive. I hope this is ok because God gave us our sense of humour after all?
There is no humour in the Bible of course but must we be serious all the time? I am a committed Christian who loves the Lord but I feel laughter has a place in a healthy life. I do laugh about all sorts of things when maybe I ought not to. God knows my heart and I hope He understands!

I laugh every time I read this Scripture about Elijah remarking about the false gods not responding to the people:
' At noon Elijah started making fun of them: "Pray louder! He is a god! Maybe he is daydreaming or relieving himself, or perhaps he's gone off on a trip! Or maybe he's sleeping, and you've got to wake him up!" I can imagine what Elijah was thinking, 'losers!' lol.

Laughter is good medicine.
Laughter, makes the soul merry as a broken spirit dries up the bones
God has laughter, to me at least
Laughter

As a Christian I follow the example of Christ. He definitely had a sense of humor. Two of his disciples wanted to call down fire on some hecklers, and later he called them the sons of thunder.
Sure, this is probably the correct explanation for the nickname. And it's interesting that the gospel that mentions this name (Gospel of Mark) doesn't mention the episode where the disciples wanted to call down fire (that's from Luke). So it seems like an incidental confirmation of its historicity by an "undesigned coincidence".

However, I'd like to mention this alternative explanation. What if Jesus gave them that nickname because they had severe gas issues?

I'm not totally serious here, but it does raise an interesting question. If Jesus did use that kind of humor, how (if at all) would it challenge our view of what Jesus as a perfect and sinless man must have been like in his day-to-day life?

Yeah, that be when God drove out Adam and Eve

I think it was a Honda accord! Why is that?

In the days of acts, Good put everyone in one accord, that be how I get that

If you are a believer in God between God and you. And you fall into sin again. Are you still you? Just as a white Horse that falls into a. mudpie. Is that Horse still white?
Won't god pick you up and clean it up in you, for you cause you are loved 100% by God, not self or anyone else
Then if God does not do that, then why did Son go willingly to that cross?
God remains faithful as we the Son's of thunder are not, who fart. anyways, God cares better than anyone else I have ever met, including myself

Therefore, Laugh from the soul y'all, from the love given you, even though we, at least I know I do not deserve to have it given me ever.
The Marrow in the bones is where the true healing is at. Ask any Doctor or just look it up. You want to heal, laugh and love Join God the Father of all, revealed to us all by son who is proven in being risen as the way, the truth and new life offered us to laugh in contentment, thankfulness

How does death come to us all? Dried ups bones, no laughter in the midst of it all
That be why Paul said this in Romans 14, whether we live or die, we belong to God
So be dead, to be alive to laugh once free from under Law that this world r=traps people in, to gain control over you. =Thank you
God forever, having no time to ever harm another again, laughing toooooo much from within
Contentment in all things, can we learn this? Then Laugh and stand in trust to God thank you

I find the idea of God wrestling with Jacob to be humorous. Just imagine yourself all alone and some dude starts randomly wrestling you and then you realize it's God. I think I would get a huge laugh out of that If I didn't die of a heart attack after realizing who it was.

We are taught to be worried over that and this and those and them, really?????????//
Come out of there my people and be free to see, I am God to the you in and teach you new, to stand in trust to me and not worry anymore.
Just go forth, pone foot at a time, do what you can honestly, and continue, then you will see truth wipes out error for you too.

Tha nking Jesus for me to now seriously laugh at those that try to create ny fear in me, and hoping y'all see this too.

Under Law to do is as if having a rope around your neck, and one more mistake and that is it. That is not from God y'all
How can that be, since Jesus took away all sin for us all to believe and be freed and ask for his risen Life to lead us over the dead spirit we are first born in on earth?
Laugh.
Man's wisdom is foolishness to God, God is laughing, join God and God is not laughing as I got you, sees the foolishness of us, I see to stop, red and go into humility
Out odf the mouth of babes comes wisdom, beyond measure. Such as a child that said to his Dad, hey dad if we all come from apes, why is not man still evolving or apes not trancending?

Live, new in God's Spirit and Truth take on the Joy, and love all =, not the few this world only tells us to do.

There is no humour in the Bible of course
"The One enthroned in heaven laughs" Psalm 2:4a.

Have you read the whole Bible? If not, I'd recommend doing so before making such all-encompassing statements. ;)

I know from the Word that our Maker does laugh, but I am not able (yet( to know Him well enough to be His comedian. His sense of humor would be perfect, so I am not yet equipped to say anything truly funny for Him. Come the Kingdom, we will all laugh for joy, I believe, amen.

God usually requires seriousness. As soon as we get too laughy or jokey, God has a way of soberly bringing us back down to reality.

Hello, so, no humour in the bible? I wonder about that, truly... sarcasm, sattire, whit, rehtoric, poetry, there's a lot going on in the bible; Now sense of humour for some will be a matter of taste, preference, tolerance and more, but I'd consider looking at things and consider a few questions; No sense of humour? Or whit? The bible has some, just take a look;

I find humour in the story on the road to emmaus, can you imagine, Jesus comes back and meets these guys on the road and they question him, is he the only one in town that has no idea what just happened... and Jesus is like, go on.... :) I think there's something to smile at there :)
