Outdoors kitties ftw! No litter box, they are always hunting vermin in the yard and they are still there when you need a kitty to pet.
Where I lived before my cat was able to go outside and "hunt"......but here where I live now.....no cats are allowed outside or the "animal collector" will come and cart them off.....so for his PROTECTION....he has to stay in the house. :(

Well, at least you can be sure nothing bad will happen to him since he's inside all the time.

Cats.... Atleast they keep pest away. Dogs really don't do anything by nature, except eat and poop.

Hey now, dogs are good for keeping deer and rabbits (and raccoons and opossums and squirrels and...) out of the garden.

If you train a dog right, he's also a good burglar alarm. I'm careful to NOT yell at my dog if he barks at a stranger, but DO tell him to hush if he's just barking because all the other dogs in the neighborhood are barking.

I still prefer cats, but I had to speak in defense of dogs. They are too good for something.

They let you know when someone's on your property. If someone breaks in my dog can't protect us but she'll give us a heads up.

Today my mum was here for lunch. Both dogs pulled her (with a rope) out of the chair. Will a cat do that? Empty washing machine for laundry? My dogs do. So that they are not useful? Today the dog ran out to fetch firewood so that we could have on the fireplace. I think both my dogs are more useful than any cat (except for Lynx, because he would be very clever to have around if I have some difficulties with computers or the router)

That's the thing, you have to train the dog, and not all dogs can be trained. Cats do what they do by nature.

lol....well, dear one.....I must disagree
I raised, trained, and showed ITALIAN GREYHOUNDS for MANY years.
I remember one time looking down the stairs into the family room and saw a mouse start to run across the room.
My CATS SAW that mouse and did NOTHING...but those little greyhounds took off in HOT PERSUTE of that little critter while the CATS did nothing. It was SOOOOOOOO FUNNY ;)

I need a cat like that! One that kills snakes, roaches and pretty much anything else that moves would definitely be good, haha.
Snakes and roaches are the worst. Only God knows why He invented them.

Same reason God invented mosquitoes - because they were supposed to do something on this planet. Then sin messed things up and everything got a little out of kilter.

Did you hear about mosquitoes? Scientists say they were supposed to be pollinators. But one single defective gene turned them into blood suckers. They can still survive on flowers, you know, if there are no red-bloods around. They don't like it, but they can survive as pollinators.

Scientists haven't turned up any such information about roaches and rats yet, but now I'm curious what they were doing before the world was marred.

Mosquitoes are the world’s deadliest animals. I see no point in their existence. But, I should have some sympathy as a fellow vampire.

I did not know that about the flowers, I will have to research it.

Well God made the world - including mosquitoes - but what we have right now is NOT the world the way it was when God made it.

Some things that are most annoying were designed to be an integral part of the world and its functions. But sin messes lots of things up. I'm guessing if scientists were able to trace when that genetic defect in mosquitoes happened, they would trace it back about 6,000 years. =^.^=
