If you really want to know who sent an anonymous rep (not the nasty grey box kind), it is quite possible to narrow down the field of possibilities by tracking your points total. That number goes up by the reputation power of whomever gave you the rep 
So Abi, if you give someone an anonymous rep right now, their points total will increase by 109 points. Knowing the points total increased by 109 means that it could only have been given by someone with that rep power. You also know that certain people are more inclined to give you reps than others, and the same person may give a like at the same time, which makes it very easy to figure out.

After watching everyone's rep go up as a result of this thread, I'm starting to wonder if there's some sort of prize for the first person who hits a number like 10,000 rep points.
You'd think they'd at least get their own forum or something!
