all that reading and did not learn that Jesus was fully God and fully man...……...
You do know that reading the letter is not enough don't you? If it was, the Pharisees of Jesus day would have welcomed him with open arms, you have to be able to discern the truth the letter contains.
What can you discern?
Why are sinfull passions aroused in people by the law if they live under it? rom7:5

I will look it up. Yeah, looks like it is a religion. I guess that I always have heard and believed that religion was man's attempt to please God but apparently there is a religion that is pure and faultless as stated in James. Based on that verse I rescind my post that Christianity is not a religion. I actually learned something in this forum today. Thank you.
I have described Christianity as a way of life and not a religion in the sense of the word and we all know that JESUS condemned organized religion (Pharisees)

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

thréskeia: religion
Original Word: θρησκεία, ας, ἡ
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
Transliteration: thréskeia
Phonetic Spelling: (thrace-ki'-ah)
Definition: religion
Usage: (underlying sense: reverence or worship of the gods), worship as expressed in ritual acts, religion

Now if you, or posthuman, or anyone else had answered the questions earlier, we would have reached unity long before this wouldn't we.
i did answer you; don't say i didn't.

what is a Klein bottle? it's a topology with a very interesting characteristic that its inside is also its outside - it is a concave, closed form that is also open, that has two surfaces, but both surfaces are one; there is only one surface. it only has one side, but there are two sides. i gave you the parametric equations for it, too, in case maybe you could read that language, if you didn't understand the language of the image. sure, that was a long shot. who here reads math? but a post can hope, can't he?

what does it mean to have life hidden in Christ, and to be found in Him? we walk no more after the flesh, yet we now live in it still. we have two sides - but only one side, because through the flesh and in the world we do not have life, but only in Him we have life. is this not the Spirit in us that lives, even as the old things have been put to death, even while we live in the world, not being of the world? while we wait for the things that remain to be redeemed?

and i said to you, air is inside you, and also you are inside of it. i thought, maybe you understand that in the language of scripture, the Spirit is spoken of as wind, as breath. you breathe it in, and you live. it is breathed into you, and you live. you live, because you walk in it, and through it you have life.

and a fourth time, i gave you what Christ Himself said in the very same prayer you quoted from - that all that belongs to the Father belongs to the Son and all that belongs to the Son belongs to the Father. did Jesus not also say, He does not lose all those who are given to Him by the Father? that's us -- given by the Father -- not being owned of ourselves, as though we could give. and if we are given to Him, we belong also to the Father. how is it we call Him Father? by the Spirit, which cries Abba. by the Spirit, which sanctifies us. by the Spirit, which does not testify of itself, but testifies of the Son.

and i asked you a half dozen times to testify of the Son --- what was i really asking? i was asking, if the Spirit be in you, let it have voice: because the Spirit does not testify of itself but glorifies the Son.

oh, but that's right, you decided to put me on ignore.
because you weren't looking for someone who understood, who could rephrase the answer in many ways.
you were looking for someone to give you a very specific set of words recited by rote.
someone with a spirit that testifies of itself?

so you don't hear these words; you don't have the time.
i'm sorry.

you cannot discern that can you, for you have a head theology. You are another one who in effect believes a person will be condemned on the day of judgement for standing on the plain words of Christ when he walked this earth. The Holy Spirit would never lead you to believe that. See where your studying has led you to?

I think she just like to fight, its all she had done for the past few years.
i agree with that; she certainly is not shy about crossing swords.

i do like that about her :)

((even if i would critique her fencing))

and if it really is Fran, she has grown, and controls her temper much better than she did when she first joined us here! :D

Well thank god he does not offer false security,

He offers eternal life.

I still pray you take him up on that offer.

Have you ever studied john 6? It would help you greatly, (no, not th catholic view, but jesus view)

What did he offer to those who ate the bread he came to offer? And did he say they had to drink it over and over, because the drinks power died, and they needed to be refreshed?
dude, i've had a tab opened on my laptop for 3 days now, to John 6:34

"Sir," they said, "always give us this bread."

BTW I am sorry I am just tired of the constant name calling, rudeness and deflecting. WE (including me) all have our moments. But it has gotten out of hand here. What is worse some even make excuses for their un-Christ like manner.
amen

that's something we all need to always watch ourselves over, and i pray for the whole forum for it, and i know i'm not the only one who does, and has, for a long time -- not to say that i'm not found guilty in the same respect. but i hope my behavior has improved and will continue to over time :)

it is, we are all here, and all very passionate about the broad subject we are discussing - the work and person of God. it is easy for us to forget ourselves and be tempted this way -- wasn't it James saying the tongue is like a rudder, a small thing, that steers a whole ship?

Someone sinning against you does not equate to that person being lost:unsure::geek:

Maybe so.

However, that person is in danger of becoming lost if they continue their n that sin, and don’t deal with it.

That’s the point.

Jesus teaches His disciples what to do.

We don't have to live on borrowed salvation. We can be secure by making our salvation about our Savior.

...To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. THEY CLAIM TO KNOW GOD, but by THEIR ACTIONS THEY DENY HIM. They are detestable, DISOBEDIENT and unfit for doing anything good. Titus 1:16

Paul was worried that some of them may be deceived just like eve was deceived.

...But I AM AFRAID that just as Eve was DECEIVED by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be LED ASTRAY from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:3

The truth is that the deceiver has been deceiving from the beginning until now.

These deceivers will REJECT and NULLIFY the Word and believe the deceiving spirits.(Isaiah 5:20-24, Mark 7:6-13)

...while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 2 Timothy 3:13

...THE SPIRIT CLEARLY SAYS that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through HYPOCRITICAL LIARS, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 1 Timothy 4:1-2

How would we know who were the ones that were deceived?

We know that Eve was deceived when she believed the deceiver and disobeyed God's command.

Who are the deceivers and who were deceived?

..But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. 18 They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.

...At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Matthew 24:10‭-‬14‭, ‬24

...For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve. 2 Corinthians 11:13‭-‬15

And those that were deceived believed in the deceivers mentioned above and disobeyed God's commands because they were made to believe that they would not surely die, IOW, "always saved". But scriptures warn us not to be deceived;

...Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them. Ephesians 5:6‭-‬7

...Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ” “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”... Genesis 3:1‭-‬19

Just think what could have happened if Eve did not believe the serpents deception but OBEYED God instead. ...NO NEED TO DISCUSS SALVATION FOR SURE because no one needs to be saved.

The truth is that Adam and Eve were created according to the image of God's righteousness and holiness and they BELIEVE and OBEY God until they got DECEIVED and disobeyed God. If they were deceived, why can't you?

Did God warn us about the deception? If He did, then why refuse to take heed of them?

So who would say now that OBEDIENCE TO GOD HAS NO BEARING IN SALVATION?
