Cry us all a river.....I did not attack you, but rather your comic book interpretation of scripture and then simply asked you a question which sent you on a 20 minute tirade of accusations and whine bagging.....

And yet you are avoiding my question are you part of the church of Satan ???? Your silence reeks of guilt and shame .

If someone asks me what I am associated with I have no problem or shame in answering......and notice how defensive he got and accusatory when all I did was ask if he was a JW......his response is similar to almost every JW that has come and gone from this site.....

I agree with you in this regard, that the 2nd death means complete destruction as if they never were.

As for the parable about the rich man and Lazarus, I don't think Jesus was teaching the faithful go to heaven at death. Because, how could that square with the resurrection message?

at least we agree there.

Its not something i have to square when i just accept what it says . i cant just added stuff that Jesus never taught .

Hades for the rich man, is used, among a few other greek words. I cant take roman greek mythology from those meaning.

so where do i go ? I go to Jesus and what He taught .

Jesus mentions the kingdom of heaven. he does not mention anything in between. Other than a divide between the good and bad.
Hades only means place or state of departed souls. So one must go to Christ's teachings in the entire bible about that .
thats pretty simple.

Past that, or trying to square that with misconceptions people have, you get into doctrinal teaching that people hold. so im pretty bare basic . No long winded explanation and twisting of meanings necessary .

First off, I do not have all the answers, and the more I learn the more I realize I don't know. I'm here really to glean something useful, chew the meat spit out the bones as they say.

Parables. He always taught in parables. I think they had/have more than 1 meaning. What, if any, associations do you find for the name Lazarus in the parable? I've read it's "God is my help" in Greek. Also, it's the same name of the servant of Abraham, of whom he was prepared to call his heir, (before his sons were born of course)

BTW, in your OP about torment being descriptive in regard to testing metal I have not heard, will have to research that further thanks.

"20 But the wicked will perish:
Though the Lord’s enemies are like the flowers of the field,
they will be consumed, they will go up in smoke."

This is not a literal statement. It is a metaphorical statement. God will make his enemies disappear as if they were nothing. It does not support the doctrine of annihilationism. We know this is a metaphor or a simile because it uses the word "like". We've just had this discussion in a prior thread, as well. If you want to educate yourself, please go and read all about it.
Agree, as well no scripture supports annihilation.

Jesus said that hell is to destroy the soul.
[…]The entire Bible constantly says the lake of fire is to kill the soul over an over again in many places. If you want to twist the bible go ahead. i dont care that is not my problem its between you and God. But i dont want to argue with people who are so careless with the bible .
Which is it, "hell/hades" is to destroy the soul, or "the lake of fire" is to kill the soul"? Or are you saying the one comes before the other??

The beast and the false prophet are said to have been cast ['ALIVE'] into the lake of fire well before [1000 yrs before] Satan is cast into it, and then from there [at the GWTj point in time] it says "they [now including Satan] shall be tormented [PLURAL] day and night unto the ages of the ages" (i.e. forever [post #114 of other thread])... so that is:

1) more than one person (two have been there 1000 years already, at that point, and still have "unto the ages of the ages" [i.e. forever] to go, because of the PLURAL wording)… their "souls" aren't said to have been destroyed/obliterated within the 1000 yrs they'd already been in there, and v.10's "they shall be tormented day and night unto the ages of the ages" doesn't supply the option of their being destroyed/obliterated or "killed" future to that... (as if they somehow had the toughest hide of "soul" of anyone... O.O )

2) it says "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life" were also cast in at that point (this being at the same point in time as the SECOND of TWO "PUNISH" words of Isa24:21-22[23], the first of the TWO "PUNISH" words aligning with His Second Coming to the earth [Rev19:19,21/16:14-16/20:5], where it speaks of "the rest of THE DEAD lived not again until..." because all other people [i.e. who are SAINTS] DID "LIVE" [were resurrected] FOR the MK age; and only the rebellious [i.e. unsaved / non-saints (and BORN during MK age)] DIE DURING the MK age... leaving no "saved" persons to experience the "resurrection OF LIFE" at the time of the GWTj point in time [THAT was back before the MK commenced / at its commencement and prior])

Jesus said that hell is to destroy the soul. I posted the verse. alot of people here are tying to be scripture lawyers. And do not accept the bible. I do not believe that God tortures people in hell forever.
God never said that and Jesus never taught that .Instead said the soul is destroyed. Many here claiming to know the bible, just being taught by ignorant people, just ignore Jesus that and stick to a bad doctrinal view that people are going to burn literally and you make up reasons not even given in the bible.

John 3:16
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul:
but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

This is Jesus teaching plainly . And the other passages are figures of speech. its that simple . The entire Bible constantly says the lake of fire is to kill the soul over an over again in many places. If you want to twist the bible go ahead. i dont care that is not my problem its between you and God. But i dont want to argue with people who are so careless with the bible .
You accuse others of being careless with the Bible? Wow.

The verse you quoted says, "fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." The verse does not say, "the purpose of hell is to destroy both soul and body" or anything remotely like that. If it did, then your thesis would be valid. By the way, if you're going to quote Scripture, at least get the references correct. The verse is Matthew 10:28, not John 3:16.

In Matthew 25:41, Jesus says, “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.'"

Here Jesus states that the eternal fire is "prepared for the devil and his angels"... not for destroying the bodies and souls of humans. That undoes your simplistic "Its (sic) that simple."

I've read that the "immortal" soul concept was made popular with Marcion.

I highly recommend a short online video '23 Minutes in Hell' by Bill Weise. He's a conservative realtor happily married who describes his experience w/Scriptures to back what he saw.

Someones always going to take offense to their denomination being "picked on" but there is some truths to what he says here "Somebodies wrong"
None of us have it all figured out...…..

Again you've taken scripture completely out of context because it's the only way you guys can make your perverted theology work. No matter though, we are all going to find out the truth one day and, if you'll excuse the pun, I hope to high heaven your life is right with Christ. Because everything you've posted thus far is of someone with such an erroneous view of scripture it would take weeks to sift through all the heresy.
