Do you still sin?

You should know that when I teach something regarding the word of God, it is not by my own interpretation, but what I have garnered from scripture. That said, that we are 'credited with righteousness' is the perfect scriptural word to describe what God has done for us through His Son.

Abram believed the LORD, and it was credited to him as righteousness.

So according to the scripture above, Abraham was credited with righteousness because he believed God, i.e. had faith in what God had promised. It is by this same faith in God that every believer in Christ is saved, ergo we are credited with rightousness. Paul brings up this very issue:

We are credited with righteousness through faith. It is not by our own righteousness that we are being saved . As previously posted, every thing that Jesus accomplished is credited to the believer. Since Jesus himself had no sin, then everything that He did was for us in order to satisfy those requirements. When we have faith, the righteousness of Christ is credited to the believer. So, God sees those who believe in His Son as perfect, even though we still have our sinful natures. And yes, our natures are sinful because we were born into sin through Adam and Eve. We will be perfected at the resurrection when we will receive our immortal and glorified bodies.

Where do you get this nonsense? What you describe is not the unforgivable sin of blasphemy. The unforgivable sin is denying Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son of God. That’s why people who don’t believe in Him are condemned.

The unforgiveable sin is literally "blasphemy of the Spirit." what that means is open to debate, but in the context of Matthew 12 it seems to be mistaking the works of the Holy Spirit for the works of the devil, and it can be inferred to go in the opposite direction as well. If someone thinks the Holy Spirit is speaking to them and it is actually satan they will find themselves being led into sin and follow it to their own destruction.

Matthew 12:31-32: "And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. "

You know in studying the sin not unto death, I found this and I thought you all might think it interesting. I mean, you probably already know this verse but I believe with regards to blasphemy it is interesting. I just wanted to share what I found ...

So we see that the difference is he was ignorant in unbelief.

This is not me debating with anyone about what the sin unto death is, I am still sitting with that one, just thought it helpful...

I can now be more equipped to answer someone who after being saved, and who is worried about what if they committed said sin prior and didn't know it. It has indeed come up with mature and new believers and I can answer, saying that God knows you were ignorant in your unbelief and point them to this verse.

The Holy Spirit leads us to truth. Therefore the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is unbelief, rejecting Christ.

Denying Christ is the unforgivable sin because you’re calling God a liar. In essence you’re speaking against the Holy Spirit of God.

Thank you for your kind words. I try to present the truth and it is God who works with Holy Spirit to convict people of the truth. I am just a seed planter and it is God's job to make it grow.

I really don't like to argue and do major debating as I feel it goes nowhere and it isn't a matter of who's right it's a matter of sharing the truth, with kindness and love. I pray God helps us to do our job and I know He is doing His and the truth will grow on good ground, rocky soil and seed thrown on the wayside may have some problems but God knows who's hearts are ready to hear and receive the truth and I trust Him that it will grow greatly in the good soil to produce the harvest He knows will be ready when Jesus comes.

Maybe, but I'm honestly not entirely sure what's meant to be honest. For a long time I was convinced that it was believing yourself to be Jesus Christ. But it seems to me that it's a matter of discernment since there are two spiritual forces in the war and confusing them leads to disastrous results. Blaspheming the Holy Spirit would be falling in love with the evil one and spurning the Holy One. Of course, doing so would lead to a rejection of Jesus and His atonement but that's more a result than the cause.

So, how do we accurately understand the scriptures.....

Once again - enters the Holy Spirit....... it does not matter how diligent we search the scriptures, we know NOTHING unless the Holy Spirit teaches us.

Even so, we keep searching the scriptures for it pleases God that we do so.

Receiving by faith a promise from God is credited to us as righteousness, but it is not to be confused with "the actual promise" that God is giving us.

The Blood and Body of Yeshua/Jesus Christ is "the actual promise" that God is giving to us. However, the promise is NOT to be confused with the "receiving of the promise."

Christ is the incorruptible seed of God given to us.....

Yeshua/Jesus Christ is The Incorruptible Seed by the Word of God - He is The Righteousness of God that has "recreated" us into a new creation with a new nature.

As true born again believers, we no longer have a "sinful nature," but we do still have "sinful flesh" that is why we take up our cross, deny ourselves (sinful flesh) and follow Yeshua/Jesus Christ. We can only do this "walk with our cross" by the power of God's Holy Spirit in us because God is walking, not us.

This "walk" is just ONE MORE THING God wants to do for us - absolutely amazing!

Well, I see it differently....

When we have faith in Christ, we are able to "receive" Him - The Incorruptible Seed of God which is The Righteousness of God IN CHRIST JESUS - which is "the actual promise" God is giving us.

Yeshua/Jesus Christ is the Firstborn of many brethren. God sees those who have not only believed, but also received His Son as perfect and also as His sons because the incorruptible seed of God (Christ) has recreated us with a new nature - we are a new creation in Christ - old things (sinful nature) are passed away, behold all is made new.

We just STILL have our "sinful flesh" to contend with, but NOT our "sinful nature."

Yes, we were born into sin through Adam and Eve, BUT as true born again believers IN CHRIST we no longer have the same "sinful nature." We have a new nature IN CHRIST.

However, we do STILL have our "sinful flesh" that we received from Adam and Eve which is our souls and our bodies.

Only if I'm not filled with the Holy Spirit - got to walk by the Spirit. If we don't, then we're walking by our sinful flesh.

Just got to learn how to let God do all the "walking" in us and for us. Just like how He died for us, fulfilled all righteousness for us, etc.....

God loves us, and the grand finale' will be amazing........

Sanctification is a continuing change worked by God in us, freeing us from sinful habits and forming in us Christlike affections, dispositions, and virtues. It does not mean that sin is instantly eradicated, but it is also more than a counteraction, in which sin is merely restrained or repressed without being progressively destroyed. The basic meaning of “sanctify” is to set apart to God, for His use. But God works in those whom He claims as His own to conform them “to the image of his Son” (Rom. 8:29). Regeneration is birth; sanctification is growth. In sanctification, the Holy Spirit “works in you, both to will and to work” according to God’s purpose, enabling His people to fulfill their new, godly desires (Phil. 2:12, 13). The standard to which God’s work of sanctifying His saints is directed is His own revealed moral law, expounded and modeled by Christ Himself. Christ’s love, humility, and patience are a supreme standard for Christians (Rom. 13:10; Eph. 5:2; Phil. 2:5–11; 1 Pet. 2:21).

Believers find within themselves contrary urgings. The Spirit sustains their regenerate desires and purposes, but their fallen instincts (the “flesh”) obstruct their path and drag them back. The conflict of these two is sharp. Paul says he is unable to do what is right, and unable to restrain himself from doing what is wrong (Rom. 7:14–25). This conflict and frustration will be with Christians as long as they are in the body. Yet by watching and praying against temptation, and cultivating opposite virtues, they may through the Spirit’s help “put to death” particular bad habits (Rom. 8:13; Col. 3:5). They will experience many particular deliverances and victories in their battle with sin, while not being exposed to temptations that are impossible to resist (1 Cor. 10:13).

Denying that Jesus Christ is the Son of God is the unforgivable sin.

One may deny Jesus but turn later and believe on Jesus and receive him and be saved.

Happens all the time. When such people die are they guilty? No, but the people who draw their last breath still denying Jesus are guilty.
