I think there is a blessing for obedience. You have also not taken something from someone else that didn't belong to you. You did not lead anyone else into temptation or disobedience, and sin against them. There is a blessing for self discipline. You chose what pleases God before taking something for yourself. My comments are not about other people's choices. Their journey with God is their journey. In talking about yours, I don't think you are being prideful. There is a contentment that can come from walking the path in the way you know God wants. Kudos to you brother. Thank you for encouraging others in choosing to do right, despite societal pressures. Hold to your convictions.

We are supposed to be a virgin until we are married. We should not tell people about it. Doing what is expected is nothing to boast about. I have never robbed a bank and I am 57. See how that sounds?
Well yes, I was just about to say, why would someone want to make a big announcement like that and invite others to do the same?

Its quite natural that an unmarried Christian would be a virgin, in particular if they have been saved since childhood.

Going_Nowhere what will it do for you, for all the virgins on CC to broadcast their status?

Not saying you can't ever talk about being a virgin, but in this
context, it does seem weird.

If you live in the USA for a while, in any community larger than a very small town, you'll understand. Sometimes you get the feeling you're the only one, and sometimes people make you feel like you're not really a man.

What chapter and verse can I find this in the Bible?
1 Corinthians 7:25-33
25 Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.

26 I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, I say, that it is good for a man so to be.

27 Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.

28 But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.

29 But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;

30 And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not;

31 And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.

32 But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:

33 But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.

Revelation 14:1-5

1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:

3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

Revelation 17:1-6
1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.

6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

Revelation 18:1-8

1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

Revelation 19:1-16
1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

3 And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.

is this poster wanting another virgin under 30 to post so...they wont feel so alone and then meet them so they can NOT be a virgin?

Cos thats what it seems like to me. Ladies if thats you, I wouldnt go round advertising.
The Bible does say that ladies who are virgins are much happier, so dont let anyone try and take that from you. It doesnt say specifically though for men but its good to be respectful of one anothers bodies.

am not sure about the over 30 bit. if someone was 29 I guess they dont count. hmm.

though I do agree its quite bad as it has ever been with many as young as 12 being active. Not to mention a lot of abuse happens to those UNDER 12.

sorry over 30 typo.

When people say wedlock...why many people dont wait until marriage is because its also is quite expensive to be married, I suppose. It has always seemed to me that its easier for rich people to marry than poor people. and also govts can make it either harder or easier for married couples to set up their own household.

I turn 33 later this year and I'm still a virgin. Don't laugh....even though I know you want to.

I feel like it's a rare thing for a person my age to still be a virgin. And that's probably because it is....especially in this day and age. It seems today that even many Christians have sex out of wedlock.

But I don't think there's anything wrong with being over 30 and a virgin....despite how society might view you for it. If you get to be a certain age and you still have your V-card, some people might view you as a strange or inadequate person. But I say....why should I care what some people will think when it comes to that?

On the other hand, there ARE certain people out there (Christians included) that want to wait until they're married. Or at least want to wait until they've found someone special. And I say....kudos to those people. IMO, that's an admirable goal in today's world.

So who else here is in the same boat?

Yes, this is how the world thinks. And some misguided Christians as well.

It is OK to be married, and its also OK to be single/virgin if that is the position we are in.

It's also helpful to keep your virgin status to yourself. Not because it's something to be ashamed about, but because it's no one's business but your own.

People may speculate. But you don't have to confirm or discuss it with them.

"Virginkah" its not important. Don't spend your entire existence focusing on trivial matters.

Ooooo...kay! First we have multiple people insinuating the OP is prideful and boasting about being a virgin, and now Lanolin speculates it might be a play to find a mate. That's real nice.

Some of y'all are totally clueless.

Let me paint this picture for you, and maybe you'll understand where this thread is coming from. Where I live I can understand the thread real well - mind you, I am not happy about it, in fact I would much rather be totally innocent and lost in this thread - but with what people talk about all around me all the time on the job, I can well understand this thread.

Just about every day at w*rk somebody is talking about sex. I have learned so much I would rather not know. One woman complains that her husband is lazy in the bedroom. Another was talking about sex as exercise, because she wants to lose weight, and mentioned she has sex every night... but she is always on bottom, so she doesn't get much exercise. (As a side comment she mentioned she has a large backside. Another woman commented that she shouldn't worry about it, because the other woman had a large backside too.) And there's the person that makes it very plain when she's enduring her menstrual cycle because she complains loudly and repeatedly that her uterus is falling out.

It has reached the point that you start getting an inferiority complex about it. And that's not just me speculating... it's so pronounced that there are songs about it. Ever heard this one?
"Everybody in the world
Has more sex than me
Do you get that feeling?
Everybody in the world
Has more sex than me"
I'm not EVEN going to post the youtube link. Google the lyrics if you're curious. It's a well known song.

If you have never had sex you are seen as not a real adult yet. It is assumed you are a failure of a human being who doubtless lives in his mother's basement and will never be a real man. Every time somebody brings up the fact you are a virgin, there is the almost ritual speculation that you might be a homosexual.

And this is in southwest Tennessee, one of the more parochial parts of a conservative southeast USA. You don't want to know what it's like in a big city in a predominately liberal part of the nation.

So yeah, I can understand a thread that is basically saying "I'm still a virgin, I feel like the whole world thinks I'm stupid... is there anybody else like me out there?" I can understand that real well. Unfortunately. :cautious:

So everybody who is calling the OP a braggart or idly wondering if the OP is trying to find a mate... back off, eh? You don't have any idea what you're talking about. Come live in the USA for a while, especially in a big city. It's tougher than you think.

I never robbed a bank but I think that I was 12 or 13 when caught shoplifting. I was led out of the store in handcuffs accompanied by a police officer. Not boasting about this but rather stating the facts.

Can't tell if you're trying to brag, fighting back against negative thoughts that are challenging you, or just wanting to find people who share that conviction so you don't feel like the only holy Jesus freak out there.

Personally I think that while obedience to the Lord is a wonderful thing, Christians in general do themselves and everyone else a huge disservice when they setup the equation Virginity = sexual purity . You can fool around and fill your mind with smut and be a huge porn addict and still be technically a virgin (not saying that you or anyone else in this thread has done any of those things) but someone who does those things can't honestly say that they're pursuing purity and a godly view of human sexuality.

One of the things a former CC singles regular once said and I've never forgotten: The Bible doesn't say stay a virgin; the Bible says stop fornicating. And sometimes I have to wonder if the harder obedience isn't to know all the pleasure you're missing and still forego that out of your love and commitment to God.
Your virginity=sexual purity equation estimate is concise and on point.

If you're looking to your sexual history for value or comfort.... That is a problem....

If you are 24 and have been kept from actual fornication.... that is a blessing...

Nothing to hate...

Why do you think your skin tone makes it worse?
