You Antinomianists are so screwed up in your thinking.

When Paul says "the letter killeth", he doesn't mean "Christians will die if they try to keep the commandments" because Paul, Jesus, Peter, James, John, Luke and everyone else all say the Christian is to be obedient to God's Law!

Paul means, "the letter killeth him who tries to obtain salvation by keeping the law."

There's no other way to understand this verse - yet you OSAS folks are willing to introduce massive Scriptural contradiction into the mix so that you can make the verse teach Antinomianism SMH
The law killeth because nobody can keep it. stop teaching it then, teach the new life we have in the Spirit.

Hebrews 8:13-9:1
Easy-to-Read Version
13 God called this a new agreement, so he has made the first agreement old. And anything that is old and useless is ready to disappear.

Worship Under the Old Agreement
9 The first agreement had rules for worship and a place for worship here on earth.

Agreement = Covenant

Galatians 3:16-18
Easy-to-Read Version
16 God made promises to Abraham and his Descendant.[a] The Scripture does not say, “and to your descendants.” That would mean many people. But it says, “and to your Descendant.” That means only one, and that one is Christ. 17 This is what I mean: The agreement that God gave to Abraham was made official long before the law came. The law came 430 years later. So the law could not take away the agreement and change God’s promise.

18 Can following the law give us the blessing God promised? If we could receive it by following the law, then it would not be God’s promise that brings it to us. But God freely gave his blessings to Abraham through the promise God made.

John 1:17
That is, the law was given to us through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:14
Sin will not be your master, because you are not under law. You now live under God’s grace.

Galatians 2:21
I am not the one destroying the meaning of God’s grace. If following the law is how people are made right with God, then Christ did not have to die.

Galatians 5:4
If you try to be made right with God through the law, your life with Christ is finished—you have left God’s grace.

Acts 13:38-39
Brothers, understand what we are telling you. You can have forgiveness of your sins through this Jesus. The Law of Moses could not free you from your sins. But you can be made right with God if you believe in Jesus.

Romans 4:16
So people get what God promised by having faith. This happens so that the promise can be a free gift. And if the promise is a free gift, then all of Abraham’s people will get that promise. The promise is not just for those who live under the Law of Moses. It is for all who live with faith as Abraham did. He is the father of us all.

Romans 8
Easy-to-Read Version
Life in the Spirit
8 So now anyone who is in Christ Jesus is not judged guilty. 2 That is because in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit that brings life made you[a] free. It made you free from the law that brings sin and death. 3 The law was without power because it was made weak by our sinful selves. But God did what the law could not do: He sent his own Son to earth with the same human life that everyone else uses for sin. God sent him to be an offering to pay for sin. So God used a human life to destroy sin. 4 He did this so that we could be right just as the law said we must be. Now we don’t live following our sinful selves. We live following the Spirit.

5 People who live following their sinful selves think only about what they want. But those who live following the Spirit are thinking about what the Spirit wants them to do.

Where do SDA fall in the above texts?

Are we looking at friends who walk by the Spirit? practicing legalism? or what?

Several reasons:

It's the one commandment that tells us to "rest"but for some reason it gets everyone worked up over it.

It's the only one that begins with the word "Remember" that Christians claim we can forget.

It's a commandment and God says the church that is on Earth just before Jesus comes is going to be keeping.

It has to do with the fulfillment of end times prophecy - the Little Horn aka Beast aka Antichrist aka Man of Sin is said "will think to change the times and laws" and teach "for doctrines the commandments of men".

It's a commandment which, if a man keep it, proves he genuinely knows Christ, unlike those who do not keep the commandments which are "liars and the truth is not in him".

It's a commandment that the observance of which will continue for all eternity.

But you have not kept it. You telling me that you keep the Sabbath? And since you started keeping it you never broke it? And when you did break it you asked Jesus to forgive you for breaking it and tried to keeping again after you broke it?

Is that what you are saying?

It is amazing to me that you arrived at the keeping of the Sabbath from the scripture above, which says no such thing!
THIS IS THE FIRST OF TWO POSTS WHICH I HAD TO SEPARATE DUE TO WORD COUNT RESTRICTION
PLEASE LIMIT YOUR POST CONTENT OR BREAK THEM UP INTO SMALLER CHUNKS BECAUSE YOUR POSTS ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE WITH MANY ERRORS THAT HAVE TO BE ADDRESSED ;) THANKS.

Doesn't Revelation 12 and 14 refer to the saints as they who "keep the commandments"? BTW, please spare us the claim these are "7 year tribulation saints" because 2 Peter 3:10 says when the Lord comes as a thief in the night, the Earth won't go on for another 7 seconds, let alone 7 years. ;)
Attempting to bring Christians under the law is the work of Satan, plain and simple!
"Under the Law" means "under condemnation for violation". Also, I thought Jesus said those who "do and teach" are great, but the inhabitants of heaven will look down on those who "brea and teach" and call them "least"....and also the last chapter of the last book of the Bible says that only those who "do His commandments" have a right to the Tree and entrance to the Gate. ;)
Keeping the law as a requirement for salvation, is salvation by works.
It's a requirement after you've recieved salvation - "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid; Yea, we establish the law."
There is no direct command from the Lord or the apostles to keep the Sabbath or to abstain from certain foods, or anything else. There are no rebukes from the Lord in the letters to the seven churches regarding not keeping the Sabbath.
Sorry. The Peshitta which is the closest to the Textus Receptus KJV translates Hebrews 4:9-10 KJV, "It is therefore the duty of the people of God to keep the Sabbath" because if we're resting inwardly in Jesus, we'll show it by resting outwardly every seventh day just as God did. All throughout the passage, "rest" is translated from "kataposis", but in verse 9, it's "Sabbatismos", or "Sabbath".
Why do you continue to ignore the scriptures that I provide that, unlike the one you provided above, which address the issue directly, such as the following:

"Therefore let no one judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a feast, a New Moon, or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the body that casts it belongs to Christ."
Please don't be offended, but your posts are EXREMELY LONG, BRO! I've tried but the "post word count" always exceeds, so I ceased from it. But, I'll respond to every single point, beginning with Colossians 2:14-17 KJV and show that Paul is not referring to the Ten Commandments at all, but to the Mosaic Law alone:

"Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances..."
Moses wrote his law with his hands in a book that was placed on the outside of the Ark; God wrote with His finger on tables of stone which were placed inside the Ark: Deuteronomy 31:24-26 KJV

"...that was against us, which was contrary to us..."
The Mosaic Law was "against us" with all its demands and harsh judgments - the Ten Comms are for us, containing only blessings such as long life and peace: Exodus 20:8:11 KJV; Exodus 20:12 KJV; Exodus 20:6 KJV; Exodus 20:2 KJV

...and took it out of the way, nailing it to the Cross..."
You can nail up paper books all day long, but you can't nail stone to anything - it shatters in tiny pieces.
The Mosaic Law began at Sinai and ended at the Cross (Galatians 3:19 KJV)...but the Ten Commandments carved out by God's hand and written with His finger go all the way back to the beginning (Genesis 39:9 KJV; Genesis 4:8 KJV; Genesis 12:13 KJV; Genesis 31:19 KJV, etc.) and "stand fast forever and ever" (Psalms 111:7-8 KJV) and will never pass away.

"...and having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it..."
(He triumphed over Satan and his demons by fulfilling in His mission all to which the Mosaic Law pointed: Himself.)

"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]:
(All these elements listed in this verse pertain to the Mosaic Law of ceremonies and sacrifices, including the phrase "sabbath days", which refers to the Yearly Feast Days, seeing that they are called precisely "sabbaths" in Leviticus 23. These Yearly Feast Day sabbaths are plainly differentiated from the weekly Sabbath in verses 32 and 38 which says these Feasts are "your (Israel's) sabbaths" and are "BESIDES the Sabbath of the Lord": Leviticus 23 KJV; Leviticus 23:32 KJV; ; Leviticus 23:37-38 KJV)

"...which are a shadow of things to come, but the body is of Christ."
When you step into the shadow of a tree and begin walking, you eventually bang you head on the tree. Likewise, the entire Mosaic Law were shadows of Christ to which they led. The weekly Sabbath was not nor ever has been a shadow of anything - when it was created, there was NO SIN and ALL WAS LIGHT. It was created as a memorial to Creation and now additionally is a memorial to our recreation in Jesus, which is what is the point of Hebrews 4:9-10 KJV.
Let's not any longer confuse the "sabbath" of Colossians 2:16 as referring to the weekly Sabbaths;
it clearly refers to the yearly sabbaths of the Mosaic Law,
as shown exhaustively by the above texts in their contexts.

Paul wrote the above because of those who were still trying live according to the law and who would confront believers who had freedom in Christ, who understood that they were no longer under the old covenant. Notice in the verse that the food law, a Sabbath (meaning any and all Sabbaths).
THIS IS THE SECOND PORTION OF THE POST YOU MADE WHERE
YOU ASKED WHY I NEVER RESPOND TO YOUR "PROOF TEXTS" -
AGAIN, PLEASE LIMIT THE SCOPE OF YOUR POSTS.

The only diff between the OC and NC is where the Ten Comms are written. The distinction between clean and unclean goes all the way back to the beginning, and science now confirms the danger of eating of what God said was not fit for consumption. You and I have the same digestive system as an Israelite. ;)
Anyone who keeps the Sabbath or anything else as a means of salvation, will not inherit the kingdom of God. And that because the person who does so is attempting to take credit in part for salvation, but their own works. It takes their eyes of the finished work of Christ and puts it on their efforts.
Obedience is not to be saved, but the evidence we are saved (1 John 2:3-4 KJV). Those who insist we are not required to keep the Ten Commandments but we are not allowed to break them are really saying keeping them is optional: BULLDOOKEY. This is the foundation of the satanic lie of the OSAS License to Sin. Revelation 22 says those who lie, fornicate, etc., are not entering the kingdom.
Jesus doesn't need any help in fulfilling the law, as He's already satisfied it fully and that on behalf of every believer. And NO not being under the law does not mean that we have freedom to break it. We are under a new covenant, where we follow Christ and are led by the Spirit. When we as believer sin regardless of what it is, we confess our sins and He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness. And then you continue in the process of going from faith to faith and being transformed into the Lord's image, which is the fruit of the Spirit. I posted the following in a previous post. Read it and believe it!
Look, we're either obligated to obey the Ten Comms or we aren't. Can I steal your car or sleep with your wife?

Jesus fulfilled all righteousness at the Jordan (Matthew 3:15 KJV) so does that mean we don't have to live righteously? Not according to Titus 2:11-12 KJV. Your theology is one scrambled mess where one doesn't know if he's coming or going.
"One person regards one day as better [or more important] than another, while another regards every day [the same as any other]. Let everyone be fully convinced (assured, satisfied) in his own mind." Meaning that, if one person wants to observe a day as special to the Lord, then he can do that. If another considers everyday alike, then he can do that, I happen to be one of those who worships the Lord every day, meditating upon God and His word and not just on a specific day. But when you teach to others that the Sabbath must be kept, then it becomes a requirement for salvation.
Mosaic Law...done away with at the Cross...Ten Commandments stand fast forever and ever...you better get used to keeping the Sabbath now if you plan to keep it in eternity with the obedient saints of God.
I don't know how we are going to make this any clearer to you. Stop trying to bring believers back under the law. We are not going to trade salvation by grace through faith, for the keeping of the Law which Jesus fulfilled. Why can't you understand the full meaning of the following:
I don't bring anyone under the penalty of the law - YOU DO by teaching them to break it, and those in heaven are looking down at you and calling you the "least" among us because what you do is worse than the sinner who doesn't know how to go our or come in. Stop telling people they don't have to keep the Ten Commandments out one side of your mouth, but then tell them we can't break them out the other side...you're so confused, bro!
But some believers from the party of the Pharisees stood up and declared, “The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to obey the law of Moses.” So the apostles and elders met to look into this matter. After much discussion, Peter got up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you that the Gentiles would hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. And God, who knows the heart, showed His approval by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as He did to us. He made no distinction between us and them, for He cleansed their hearts by faith. Now then, why do you test God by placing on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear? On the contrary, we believe it is through the grace of the Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.”
You're using texts which have to do with the Mosaic Law to prove the Ten Commandments are abolished: that's bad hermeneutics.
So, the claim by the Pharisee group is that the Gentile believers must be circumcised and made to obey the law of Moses, which would include everything written in the law, including the keeping of Sabbaths, food laws and any other law.
Everything that began with Moses and ended at the Cross. We pa tithes because that began BEFORE Moses....all the way back to Abraham. We abstain from poisonous foods because that goes back to Noah and God plainly says in Isaiah 66:15-17 KJV that He's coming back at His fiery Second Coming to destroy those who eat swine's flesh, understand? Your problem is that you treat the Bible the same way one would treat the buffet table - eat what's tasty and avoid what's unpalatable.
"Why do you test God by placing on the necks of the disciples (Gentile believers) a yoke (the law) that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear? The council just wrote a letter to the Gentile churches to abstain from eating blood and abstaining from sexual immorality and that was it!
No one is advocating anyone keep the Mosaic Law! Why do you skip the parts of the Bible that don't fit your interpretation? Do you really think you're at liberty to lie because Jesus is supposedly your truth; rob banks because supposedly He is your reward; fornicate because He is supposedly your faithfulness? You want a OSAS License to Sin that grants you immunity from breaking the Ten Commandments
which you claim from one side of your mouth we are not obligated to keep but from the other side we are allowed to break...this is just utterly insane, inconsistent, contradictory nonsense, bro!

OK, this was extremely time consuming and will be the last response from me if I can't see the beginning and the end of your post on the same screen, so sorry in advance :)

No . And your just restating the same faulty analogy even stronger . Its not the same. This would be like Noah having a metal breakdown/ psychotic episode ,then commits suicide . The closest you could get to this is reality would be Christians praying to God ,begging him to send them into the lake of fire. Even then ,its not the same.
Was it possible for Noah to throw up his hands and say, "No mas, Lord!" and jump out?

Then the analogy is more than reasonable.

There you go . Now we see the issue . This is where you are in error . No the blood of Goats and bulls did not , but Jesus did . After the cross redemption and remission is available by Faith, not Faith + the works of the law .
What kind of faith? "Faith which worketh by love", not the belief of trembling demons, as OSAS advocates.

OSAS claims we may obtain by dead faith that which can only be obtained by living faith: eternal life.
This is the difference . What your teaching is Jesus life, death, burial and resurrection, plus the giving of the Holy spirit , made no difference.
Since when? I have always taught that we are saved by grace through faith but judged by our works because works are the evidence we've been saved by grace through faith, as in 1 John 2:3-4 KJV.

honestly I think you have only shown that to yourself while you have refused to read what others have said that would have imparted some better clarity for you in the future regarding the Old Testament law and the gospel.

Tour totally missing the unveiling of the eternal covenant because you are like the Israelites in Jesus day you are fixed on a faded covenant that was never meant to save anyone or impart righteousness

there is a veil over Moses testament the Old Testament law the whole entire testament from genesis forward has a veil of sin over it . We’re looking through mans sin at God when we see that law it’s specifically for sinners who won’t repent

it’s only when we turn to Christ and his words that the veil is lifted and we can see the true God in person and hear his teachings for salvation of all who believe

the law of Sinai is not Gods law ot is born because of our sin Gods law is before that and after it but the law is not faith and cannot save
Again, Paul tells us that it was the Rock Christ Jesus with the Israelites in the OT (1 Corinthians 10: 4 KJV) Who proclaimed His Ten Commandments, so do with that what you will. I'm not going to debate someone who refuses to accept such a plainly stated truth in Scripture, so please find someone else to lure down your rabbit hole, friend.

Yes yes

We go to Jesus for cleansing and victory .. did He cleanse you then? did He gi' you the victory? if you now go back to the law you are in UNBELIEF. It PROVES you do not believe Jesus cleansed you, that He won the victory.

You are denying the cross as efficacious, you are holding it up to shame and making a mock of it. "look ... you are saying ... I went to Jesus to be saved but He failed"

The law did not save you but you are gone back to the law oh foolish Galatian.
People who keep committing the same habitual, deliberate, known sin show the world and heaven they are NOT saved, but have either never turned to God or have turned away in a backslidden state...BOTH are going to hell and there's not a single thing a worthless OSAS License to Sin will be able to do about it.

Look, pal, the only reason any of us sin is because we CHOOSE to love sin more than we love Jesus. Stop making weak excuses for crucifying Jesus over and over because sin means more to us than His sacrifice. If someone held a gun to a loved one's head and said, "One more time and I'm pulling the trigger!"...isn't it amazing how what seemed impossible is now easy???
  • "1 more porn video and I pull the trigger!" and the once irresistible porn retrieval machine is now at the bottom of the river.
  • "1 more drink and I pull the trigger!" and that slavemaster of a bottle is now at the bottom of the river.
  • "1 more shot of heroin and I pull the trigger!" and the cruel slavemaster needle is now at the bottom of the river.
Paul says in Hebrews 12:4 KJV that until you sweat blood from your face fighting against temptation, don't whine about how "we can't keep the law".

Bro, it seems your line of questioning is pointless. Did you read the verse I posted about how God cleaned up the people and then told them to keep that which they'd previously failed to keep?

If previous mistakes prevented them from doing it, God would not have asked them to try again, right or wrong?

This is such a false premise

It is exactly what the law does it says if you break one law you are guilty of all the law and you must pay the penalty ... death

That is exactly what you are preaching the ministry of death.

Peter said this about the law as it applied to the new Gentile believers. Every where Paul preached he was followed by Jewish preachers who insisted that the Gentiles must obey Moses. So Paul took it to Jerusalem the first great conference of the church, Peter said

Acts. 15.
Brethren you know that in the early days God made choice among you that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. And God who knows the heart bore witness to them giving the Holy Spirit just as He did to us and He made no distinction between us and them but cleansed their hearts by faith.

Now therefore why do you put God to the test by putting a yoke upon the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? But we believe that we shall be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus just as they will.

James wrote a letter totally exonerating the Gentiles from having to obey Moses.

It was these same preachers Paul talks about in Galatians who were preaching a false accursed gospel ... just as you are ... this is the incident Paul is talking about.

There is a curse upon this false gospel.

hey @Phoneman-777

one quick question:

  • do you agree that the heretical spirit of phariseeism ((for lack of better term - e.g. what's warned against in Galatians)) is still thriving in the church today, and if so who is a pharisee?

There is no such term in the bible as OSAS. The bible speaks about the free gift of eternal life

"If any man hears My voice and believes on Him who sent Me has eternal life , he does not come into judgement but is passed from death to life."

You dare not say there is no such thing as everlasting life for that would be to call God a liar and everyone would see it at once. So you make up this caricature OSAS. But it is the same thing, you are calling God a liar.

They accused Paul of preaching grace as a license to sin, that is the exact word they used, Paul said their condemnation is just.

No - one could say YOU are preaching grace as a license to sin could they? therefore you are preaching a different gospel to the one Paul preached.

There is NO verse in all the bible which states a person who has a saving relationship with Jesus can wind up lost ... you made that up.

the point bro is they have been trying to do it from the founding of it and cannot. The law was given to show us we are incapable of keeping them. and We need Jesus. The Law is God's Holy Standard man will never live up to. God want to see the Blood as payment for when you broke them the first time, not Ok try again. IF keeping the law saves you then you should not die physically because you keeping the law should give you eternal life. Your body should not age and you should be able to live forever, but you can't why?
Sin. You will die and the only way you will come back is not the law but Jesus Christ.
