I get the impression that a number of people posting on this thread would think they would being doing God a service and the right thing by rounding up all gays and shooting them.

I come from the homosexual and transgender lifestyle. I know it is a desire that you an get away from, if you actually try to get away from it. If it were really something you couldnt control, why would it be a sin?

Its only a fundamental part of who you are if you allow it to be. Do you think a sraight male being easily aroused anytime he sees the form of a woman a "fundamental part" of who he is? Or should he see this as something to get away from? God tells us merely letting yourself have a lustful thought is a sin.

People who are gay only say this because they dont want to get away from that lifestyle. We are told its better to cut off our right hand then to go into hell full bodied. God does not feel bad for people who allow temptation into their lives, but He does tell us He will give us a way out of it.

And round up people and shoot them? You are taking that out of nothing. Just following Gods will is not = to killing. We are not to accept sin as an okay thing to celebrate. A friend of the earth is an enemy of God. If you are a Christian, God should always come first for you. Not your desires.

Do you still feel the "temptations"? Because from being on this website I've seen a lot about "the lifestyle" and "temptations" but you all act like it all just goes away but never actually say that. So you're goiung to have to explain that to me.

And yes if a man is easily aroused by women that is a fundamental part of himself. Should he try avoiding lusting after women other than his wife? Of course.

Am I still tempted with sinful things? Yes, of course I am. Find me one passage in the bible that says coming to God means youll never be tempted by anything. Im as tempted by homosexuality and transgenderism as much as I am to be greedy and keep my money all to myself, to steal, to lie, to cheat, to say bad things about people, to get drunk, to do all kinds of evil things. The whole point is to say no to temptation and become strong against them, not to never ever be tempted ever, that not going to happen in this life. Remember the story of Jesus in the desert? He was lead to satan to be tempted, just like all of man is. And he refused everyone of them. We have that ability too.

There is a difference between being tempted by something and actually not being able to stop it. There are people who are turned on by things like oral sex, but God calls it unclean, its perverting what He made for your own pleasure, and it offends Him. When you actually allow yourself to fight it and not let yourself enjoy it, like all Christians are told to do, you become stronger against it.

But yeah, like all humans, like Jesus Himself, I deal with temptations. But no one is forcing me to act out on them. Thats a personal choice that you do on your own will.

And if you think that that is a fundamental part of who you are, then you should say that about anyone tempted with evil. The desire to torture and kill should be called a fundamental part of a serial killer. The hatred racist people feel must be a fundamental part of who they are too. We should never say homosexuality is okay in anyway, it makes us feel safe and comforted by it.

I think we all have our little pet sins. Our job as followers of Jesus is to keep picking the rocks out of our fields. There is a time to plow to plant to wait and to harvest.

One cannot be "gay" and a "Christian" at the same time...if you believe the bible?

It seems to me that socalled 'gay christians' are boasting about their sin
(by naming themselves after their sin), a thing a true christian never should do.

[SUP]17 [/SUP]These men are as useless as dried-up springs of water, promising much and delivering nothing;
they are as unstable as clouds driven by the storm winds.
They are doomed to the eternal pits of darkness.

[SUP]18[/SUP]They proudly boast about their sins and conquests, and, using lust as their bait,
they lure back into sin those who have just escaped from such wicked living.

[SUP]19 [/SUP]“You aren’t saved by being good,” they say, “so you might as well be bad.
Do what you like; be free.”

2Ti 2:19 ¶ Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

No true Christian should accept that term , it clearly does have the seal of the Lord !

God loves the sinner but He hates the sin. We’ve heard that at some point in our lives. But, when it is spoken to a person who is struggling, they take it another way instead of it’s intended purpose.

I’ve met many homosexuals who are unable to separate their sin from their life. Please don’t misconstrue that.

What they are saying is, “What you call sin is who I am “.

So, when they hear, God loves the sinner but hates the sin, they are hearing that God hates them.

Did you know that many homosexuals out there hate themselves for who they are, and because God hates them too, they lose all hope and they commit suicide.

The current message to the gay community from the Christian church is wrong. We have to approach them from a different angle.

Did you know that Jesus hung around whores beggars and thieves? All walks of life, both sinners and saints. Not once did He “preach against sin”. He told the harlot caught in adultery to go and sin no more, but instead, He told stories.

We preach against sin because it makes our flesh feel good. We believers have a fasination for condemning others with bible verses. We say we don’t, but we end up doing it.

Most gay men, especially gay men already feel condemned, we don’t need to judge them any further.

The first message of the gospel was about crucifying Jesus. It wasn’t about preaching against certain sins, but it was about the sin that all mankind is guilty of.

I know all the pet verses we use against gay men and women, but there are times to put the verses away and do something we rare do, “Let our light shine”. So someone can say, “There is something about you, what is it?”

When I worked at Burger King back in my early twenties. I am a happy person and I had a person who worked with me and he was always watching me. We talked sometimes and then I moved on with my life doing other things. Years later, he saw me and I remembered him and he was telling me that he was a Christian now and he was telling me how much I annoyed him. ”You were always happy and I couldn’t stand to be around you“.

Our own presence can change people.

Upfront (not that it matters), I am not gay.

That being said, I don't know how I feel about whether or not being gay and acting on it is a sin or not...but right now, I'm thinking that it's not. Again: I DON'T KNOW ECACTLY HOW I FEEL.

I know all of the verses that people use to point out that it is wrong and not how God created it.

BUT, I've also heard views on the other side of it. I also study a bit of ancient history in school and know that man-on-man action in the Bible wasn't what it is today. Then, it was talking about rape and that has never been ok. (I also don't have all the facts on this.)

I know Christians who are gay and are ok with God. They feel that it is not a sin (and I know they aren't justifying their sin by saying this--they've actually experienced God's comfort in who they are with this...meaning that they are gay).

So, I was wondering if anyone on here is gay and would like to share how they feel in their relationship with God on this.

Comments from straight people are welcome, too, of course.

I've just been incredibly curious and confused about this for a while.

you can be gay and love the same gender and still feel God, it's between you and God not man
people who post here are just posting based on their understanding and certainty of scripture but they're completely wrong, they do not know just reacting. if you feel God is working with you then that is what matters. the main problem is that all this is made political and you have to think a certain way. no you don't. the whole world today is forcing people to think just one way and it is wrong but there is room when this rubbish is analyzed to see that the whole thing is really corrupted and not right, it is a fact gay people are being used as pawns in the game when the truth is they are not really cared about at all, they are just a useful tool

Nope...

The two are mutually exclusive.

It's a polar decision.
Like pregnant or not pregnant.

"Hope to be pregnant" is not pregnant at all. It's a desire and not a fact.

Where sexual deviants want to be Christians they are sexual deviants/perverting sexual norms.

Can't be both.

I can 1. Club gay Christians over the head with selected scripture and condemnation until they go and hang themselves. 2. Throw them off of buildings. 3. Let them and God work it out, realizing that I have no say in what they do anyway.
Choosing 3, I realize that I will now get clubbed over the head with selected scripture and condemnation until I go and hang myself or change my mind and agree with the clubbers.

This isn't for browbeating people with.

It's a simple statement of fact.
It's been the same thing for thousands of years.
You can't visit the whorehouses and be a Christian.
You can't engage in bloodsports and be a Christian.
You can't worship other gods and be a Christian.
You can't be a sexual deviant and be a Christian.

Nothing has changed...same God as has always been for thousands of years. Same rules apply as have always applied.

(Premise) Sex outside of marriage is fornication, and fornication is a sin. Are we all on the same page?

(Premise) Marriage is between a man and a woman. Still with me?

(Conclusion) Sex between a man and a man or a woman and a woman is therefore ALWAYS fornication. Make sense?

Now, you might come to a different conclusion if you disagree with any of my premises. Understand though that the Bible is very clear about these premises, unless you use a tainted version like the NIV which is intentionally soft on homosexuality (one reason WHY being that Dr. Virginia Mollencott - a lesbian - was one of the editors of the NIV).

What about being attracted to the same sex? Well, as far as I know, God doesn't condemn anyone for BEING tempted. Giving in to temptation is sin. Wandering thoughts pop into our heads all the time. Choosing to entertain, dwell upon, and act on an evil thought is sinful.

I think that Christians can struggle with just about any sin out there. Are there Christians who struggle with homosexual thoughts and feelings? I'm sure there are. Let me say though that anyone who identifies as a "gay Christian" has willfully embraced that sin and is therefore in rebellion against Christ and His Holy Spirit. You can be a Christian who struggles with... uh... "gayness" but you cannot be a gay Christian. That is a contradiction in terms. It's like saying, I'm a fornicating Christian. The Bible says such sins should not even be named among us.

I've struggled with this myself during a particularly difficult and lonely stretch of life. In extremis, you can be tempted by things you would never have thought could ever tempt you. And with aborted fetal cell material in a lot of pharmaceuticals, as well as hormones and drugs in the water supply (water reclamation NEVER takes this stuff out) people are having more and more developmental and hormonal imbalances, which I believe is likely contributing to the increasing popularity of homosexuality and transgenderism.

I'm a straight woman and I believe it is completely acceptable for someone to be gay and be Christian. I have a couple of awesome gay friends. They're extremely decent, educated, moral and they're just amazingly pure (to those of you who think you can't be gay AND pure, you need to focus on the true message of the Bible- Love, Light, Compassion)! Knowing them in and out (I'm very close to them and have known them for YEARS), I refuse to believe God won't let them into Heaven just 'cos they're gay! I refuse to believe God created them merely for them to burn in hell. Someone in here said God is perfect and that He doesn't make errors. The Bible says that God knew us even before we were in our mother's wombs. Being gay is therefore definitely NOT an error. How did the homophobic verses get into the Bible then? Simple.. It was editted- everyone knows this- its historically evident. We as Christians need to focus on the true message of the Bible- the message of Christ; the forgiveness; the compassion; the non-judgemental, unconditional love. I'd focus on the uplifting things rather than the things that feeds the ego and causes people to judge and put others down. Unfortunately, the most judgmental people alive today are the church-going folk and they're the ones that blow people up with their judgments. To me, this is no different than being one of those terrorists that blow up places and people. :)

I know loads of people in here are going to disagree with me but that isn't going to bother me one bit. I grew so much in faith being with my gay friends and I again, refuse to believe they'll burn in hell or that what they're doing is wrong. :)
