At what point does sexual activity between consenting husband and wife become unhealthy or unacceptable? What if the wife tells the husband she's okay with an open relationship; or three-way; or orgy? A man has to ask himself if what he's doing pleases God, not just his wife.

Wow, so you're saying you think masturbation isn't a sin? Oh dear...
Oh dear… yet another new member who would rather use empty rhetoric than Scripture.

This is the Bible Discussion forum. Perhaps you were looking for the Opinion Discussion forum.

Ok let's start again.
I believe masturbation to be a sin. Do you?
I understand it's the Bible Discussion forum. Masturbation is a Biblical issue. Maybe if your share your views we can exchange Bible verses on the topic.

What nonsense! So what happens when a woman gets through menopause? Does that mean husband & wife cannot enjoy marital pleasures because there is no possibility of creating children? That can actually be a longer period of time when they were creating children.

Are you Catholic? There are many methods of contraception that stop conception. From the pill, condoms, vasectomies, hysterectomies, etc etc. Yet God create man and wife to live one another and have loving sexual relations within the bonds of marriage.

I had 5 children, lost one during my last pregnancy. I love my children, I am blessed to have them. But no one is going to condemn my husband for being sinful, because my womb is closed. Or for the times when I used contraception between children!

Stop acting as the judge for something you are making up!
I wasn't getting at that a man and woman getting together is only for procreation. I'm talking about masturbation being the sin.Even if they're thinking of their loved one.
God sets aside himself a remnant.Your 5 children. The seed that beats out all the others to get to the egg.Laying down with your loved one doesn't always result in children. All first borns are his, and our bodies are made in the image of the Ark of the Covenant. So you are placing an offering on the alter.
I'm not Catholic, and not attending any physical Church.

Would it be wrong for me to say that if a married man and woman got together that it would please God?I think it would please him.Even if it didn't result in offspring.

That's absolutely not true. Also, OP, masturbation is a sin, no matter who you're thinking about when you're doing it.
You are saying something is a sin and you do not have Scripture back up. There is Scripture back up for saying over eating is a sin . Being drunk. AS Christians when we say something concerning God's Word as if it is specific, precise. or definite , we should be able to back up or view with His Word. Personally i dont think the practice is a good idea.

Either step up with the relevant quotation from Scripture, or admit that you have nothing but your opinion.

It's weird to me that you're avoiding the question, but ok.

I gave you my opinion, and I'm prepared to share Bible verses on the matter, but if you're avoiding giving your position, what's the point?

Let's leave it there! :) Peace.

It was implied in what he said, and if it wasn't he can clarify it. Seems like he thinks masturbation isn't a sin though.
Your assumption is as baseless as your opinion.

Where is that in Scripture?
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Love does not allow viewing other people as commodities.

Again, where is that in Scripture?
Something does not have to be stated explicitly for it to be sin if it violates the commandments Jesus.
Is viewing pornography a sin, is self-harming a sin, is practicing S&M a sin?

I think we can deduce these behaviors negate love of others and ourselves.

You do not want to see it that is fine, I am not going to on and on about.

This has nothing to do with me "not wanting to see it". You're making assumptions that are completely baseless.

I'm simply challenging you to ground your position on Scripture alone; you and @flexor seem resistant to that and instead prefer to slander me.

Growing up, I was told all masturbation was a sin.

Matthew 5:28 says "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart."

To me, this means Porn/Masturbation is a sin.

My question is, is it a sin to masturbate while thinking or looking at your wife? (not at porn)

I mean, when my wife is not willing or able to be intimate with you (For example; time of the month), is it ok?
Am I allowed to lust over my wife?
are you sure you're grown up?

I am not wanting to slander, I just do not agree.
Something does not have to be explicitly stated to be a sin we can deduce based on a variety of scriptures.

We know the chemicals are released (dopamine, oxycotin) and this behaviour can become addictive and you are training your body to be used a certain way. It is not conducive to forming healthy relationships.
My assumptions are not baseless.
Have a good day

are you sure you're grown up?
I'm pretty sure. lol, I'm 39 and have been married for 13 years.
Just wanted some opinions as I get mixed answers. Just like I am getting here. lol

I was told as a kid that it's a sin to masturbate and watch porn, which is true as I'm lusting after women I'm not married to.
but was also told that whatever happens in marriage is good. God created sex and everything with it.

Now that's my question. is it a sin to masturbate to my wife ( not calling it lust anymore but a strong desire or I guess foreplay?) or the better question is what if she does it to me and "spills my seed"? Is that a sin?

What about the other items like oral sex, using objects to pleasure each other, and anal (don't do this one but I've heard some married couples enjoy this sometimes). it is acceptable under God's eyes?

I would say yes as we are married and all sex is good if married to each other.
