I'm married, but I have single Christian friends who are looking for spouses, and I know it's tough. I was thinking about this forum, and I thought I'd just create a thread for people to post a personal ad for other forum members interested in finding a Christian spouse. I don't know all the criteria used online, so other users might add suggestions.

You:
Age.
Theological/denominational background.
Height/weight/build/characteristics (piercing, tattoos, etc.)
Geographical location. Willingness to relocate?
Occupation
Gifts, ministries, etc.
Hobbies
Status: Divorced, widowed, previously engaged, virgin, etc.
Unique interesting fact about you
Do you have children? Want children? How many? When?

What you are looking for in a spouse:
Age.
Theological/denominational background.
Height/weight/build/characteristics (piercing, tattoos, etc.)
Geographical location. Willingness to relocate?
Occupation
Gifts, ministries, etc.
Hobbies
Status: Divorced, widowed, previously engaged, virgin, etc.
Unique interesting fact about you
Do you have children? Want children? How many? When?

What you have to offer, and your own philosophy of marriage. What would you expect marriage to be like?

You are looking for in a spouse (spiritually, personality, life goals, physically, etc.)

If you post pictures, the forum can show up on Google searches, so you can PM someone you find interesting for further details.

If this is successful, maybe it could spawn other threads broken down by criteria, e.g. geographical areas, never-marrieds, virgins, widows, height, etc.

Sounds like the perfect thread for marketers and predatory scamsters.
We recently had a fox in the henhouse complain of a catfish.

I had a look at the rules thread before posting this. It warns that posts looking for dates (or however it is worded) might not be well-accepted by other posters. But I figure having a thread dedicated to it could serve posters who are looking for a partner, and those who aren't into posting such things can read other threads.

I left out 'Education' as a category. That may be important to some posters. And posters can add favorite music, etc. to the 'Hobbies' section.

Could you interpret that? Was the fox someone who was really good-looking, and the other poster gave a fake photo?

Face pictures can be posted in private messages in response to the personal ads. If you ask for a Zoom call, I'd imagine it's hard to catfish on Zoom. But I have seen some rather impressive beauty video apps. My wife met this woman who posted videos as a very pretty 30-ish year old. In real life she looked very different and middle-aged, nothing at all like the pretty woman in the video. But I don't think that works with Zoom.

No, it was a new member who reported someone else who contacted him...the fox in the henhouse.

Sorry, if others like to give out details that's up to them. I guess Facebook and dating social media have been around for a while, so people are used to that. I'm personally private online for as many reasons as there are scammers, trolls and some who made serious threats.

I have seen a lot of people who were lawyers to other assorted thieves who tried to gather information and use it for gain. However, I can't blame your friend for wanting to find a decent woman.

Carry on.

I have not dating profiles but not a big fan. I have security concerns...I don't like sketchy guys even knowing I exist!

I know what you mean.
I get pictures of pretty women on my page wanting to connect from time to time. They get deleted right away because I don't know them.

Could you interpret that?
I could because I am the "new member" (I am anything but a "new member" where the body of Christ is concerned) that H&H has unwarranted disdain for because I have called him out for spamming this forum with videos of a well-known hate-monger, Steven Anderson, who, among other things, calls for capital punishment of homosexuals, lesbians, etc. In fact, if you are but interested in seeing it, then I can link you to a video in which the aforementioned hate monger tells homosexuals that the only advice that he could give them is to put a bullet in their own heads. As the old expression goes, "The apple does not fall far from the tree." In other words, H&H has the same type of hatred dwelling within his heart, and I could easily link you to his own words here on this forum as proof of the same.

Anyhow, here is a link to the thread I started about 3 weeks ago which is entitled "Catfish scammers":

https://christianchat.com/new-christian-chat-members-introduce-yourselves/catfish-scammers.212192/

Rather than "complain" about the same, I did what any true Christian should do. I notified the Administrator here and one of the moderators here of this scammer, and they banned the individual for the protection of members here.

Hopefully, this clarifies things for you a bit.

Have a blessed day.

A lot of posters use handles. They could list the region they live in as opposed to exact locations. Few occupations serve as identifying information. Philosophy of marriage isn't going to help identity thieves much.

I think being security conscious is a good thing.

This game is only for those who want to play it.

I know fox I'm the henhouse and catfishing. I just didn't get mixing the meraphores/idioms-- why the fox would complain about catfishing. :)

Full marks to presidente for trying to be helpful though.

Maybe I'll bookmark this thread and refer people to it when they come in looking for a spouse.

That was kind of the idea--a niche in the forum to put the spouse hunters. It's good if single Christians find Christian spouses.

Yup, there are people that I hate as well as there are people that you and everyone else hates. I hate child rapists like the wicked people of Sodom who surrounded Lot's house, threatened him with gang rape as I do the damned child traffickers. They can go to hell today and I won't shed a tear Jack.
I've had worthless trash like that go after my family members too. They deserve the death penalty because my Lord says so. I don't know one preacher who ever suggested that they kill the bastards themselves, but if I caught one of them attacking someone who was a victim I sure would defend them. There used to be laws in America against the crime of Sodomy up to recently. The only ones who objected to them were the queers.
Are you a queer or just on their team?

You on the other hand hate preachers who not only speak out against such wickedness, but also who preach the gospel. I will continue to post the gospel at this forum for love of the lost and you will NOT stop me.

I like pastor Steven Anderson. Society today is clear justification for God's tough stand against sodomites. Now these perverts are irreversibly mutilating children in order to spread their abominable agenda.
