I'm reminded of a boy on the church bus who wanted me to intervene in an argument. He was crying because another boy on the bus said he was eight.
"Are you eight?"
"No, I'm nine!"
"Then what does it matter what he says? It doesn't make you eight. You're still nine no matter how many times he says you're eight."
I remind myself of that sometimes. There have been times people have said some things about me. But the people they were talking to knew they were not true. (They were at least polite enough to not laugh in the gossips' faces though.)
Let people say what they want. Truth shows in how the people they are talking about live their lives. That boy was still nine.
