    The Chosen

I was enjoying watching the Chosen series but then got put off by the back ground of the makers of the show and the probable affect of Mormonism. It didn't bother me that it was not straight from the bible.. I just thought of it as a what may have been scenario. I didn't like the way though...

    Jesus is God

Yeah, a central issue going on is the 'what is true for me is true for me, and what is true for you is true for you'.. becoming dominant in christian circles. So rather than saying.. the bible interprets itself and contains all the truth we need. Many christians will say 'I interpret it this...

    Jesus is God

I don't think it is wise seperating Jesus from Yahweh. The one triune God has Jesus there right from the beginning. There are different names for God of course.. but God was never 'not' triune. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit have always been as one triune God. The different names are...

I am looking for a Pentecostal church

Why not read the bible and see what doctrines it teaches and then find a church that matches that?

    I love Jesus.

Ahhhh.. the love a believer has for Jesus shouldn't be romantic love. It is not the way you love a partner. It is a relationship, but it's more of being a servant to a perfect, loving Father, rather than loving Jesus like you love your spouse. Jesus is God. That's someone we can worship...

Are you a gentile or a member of the family of God?

Family... the one Triune God.. plus His angels and believers. Kingdom.. everything God is sovereign over. The Family is inside this. Within the Family is a body of Christ.. a local assembly of saved, baptised believers covenanted to carry out the great commission and commandment, with Jesus...

Are you a gentile or a member of the family of God?

The Family of God and the body of Christ are not the same entities. Just as the Kingdom of God is not the body of Christ either. Don't mix them up.

Justified/Saved by Faith & Faith Alone

James was saying their faith without works is alone. Not never there or lost. Again.. all the examples.. Abraham.. his act in being prepared to offer up his son Isaac was justified in terms of a right act. It wasn't to do with eternal salvation. Abraham believed God and was converted...

Justified/Saved by Faith & Faith Alone

Agree 100 percent. James is using examples of people who already are converted and using their faith for God. They still have their conversion if they didn't do the acts they did. Finally some one reading James the same way I do! :)

    The GIFT of Languages

Yeah I was part of a charismatic youth group back in the day and thought I was speaking in tongues. What it was... is a high emotional state accompanied by non linguistic free, broken speech. Bought on in a small group of convincing leaders in the church at the time. That would have been...

    The GIFT of Languages

Though I speak I'm tongues of men and angels.. from Paul.. The surrounding verses are of Paul talking in hyperbole and what ifs. Exaggeration to make a point. Paul compares speaking in tongues of men and angels with having faith to move a mountain. This isn't saying that he could...

    The miracles thread

If we are talking BIBLICAL miracles.. then it's whole different story. For eg .. human birth.. though amazing and God made.. isn't a miracle. It's a natural process. Also many of the supposed miracles claimed by Roman catholicism are not biblical miracles. To be a true miracle .. it's got...

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

The Holy Spirit coming 'upon ' OT saints was not receiving eternal life. They were getting there position empowered as kings. The key thing though is like you say.. being made righteous before doing good works. They believed in the Messiah before good works. The good works didn't save them

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

Yeah.. eternal salvation has always been faith in the Messiah. Whether to come.. or looking back at Him when He came. Job believed in a redeemer.. so did David.. among others. They weren't made righteous by their good works.. but God made them righteous by their belief in Him. The system of...

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

Judas had Satan enter him. A saved person has the Holy Spirit in them. Satan cannot co-habitate with the Holy Spirit. Unless it is a kind if figurative entering..but that doesn't sit with Jesus calling him a devil. Judas did have the bag as a treasurer type, so seems to be counted with...

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

Yes.. I'm not saying struggling Christians won't be saved or have ANY inheritance in the Kingdom. I'm saying the faithful will have more.

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

Inheritance is different to entrance. Entrance to the Kingdom is at initial belief in Jesus Christ as God.. John 3:16.. Romans 10:9-10 Inheritance.. is rewards for the faithful. Their works are refined in the fire and producing gold. Bad works.. they remain saved.. but works burned up.

    What does born again mean?

Regarding Titus 3:5.. that's regeneration of the Holy Spirit that washes away sin. It's not a verse about immersion baptism. The other thing is... you've put things as 'Protestant ' and opposed it. So then you are either Catholic or non Protestant Baptist. Non Protestant Baptists.. like...
