    The cultic origins of Annihilationism

I think their judgement - second death - will be eternal, irreversible, and they will never rise again. But I still need to look at all of the verses together. Just took short break. :)

I agree with you here! :)

    The cultic origins of Annihilationism

Not necessary to post again. If you can't track with me then you just can't. No biggie. :)

    The cultic origins of Annihilationism

I'm not tracking you here... Yes, I will be resurrected when Jesus comes. I was sown in the ground perishable. I will be raised imperishable. And unbelievers are also sown in the ground perishable. They also will be resurrected. But not to eternal life but rather to the second death. All men...

    The cultic origins of Annihilationism

Why say raised imperishable, raised changed in that way, this mortal putting on immortal - when we were already immortal from birth?

    The cultic origins of Annihilationism

And, in fact, it says we are raised imperishable. Sown perishable but raised imperishable.

    The cultic origins of Annihilationism

If there were eternal life for humans that is in themselves, why would God need to raise ANY of them from the dead? They would already be alive and so wouldn't NEED to be raised from the dead.

    The cultic origins of Annihilationism

The body is dead without the Spirit sounds a lot like: let the dead bury their own dead.

    The cultic origins of Annihilationism

The first three you list: everlasting fire, everlasting punishment, eternal condemnation - honestly, it is possible that they could mean irreversible, forever irreversible and so eternal and everlasting. If our courts put a man to death, that is a punishment that, after he is dead, stands...

    The cultic origins of Annihilationism

No, I didn't mean that YOU bother me. You are a help a lot of the time, even though we don't agree on almost everything there is. It bothers me to see two sides pit verses against each other and to see the inconsistencies on both sides and to watch a rerun of the same show over and over...

Yes, I know you don't see the issue. The verses in tension to don't bother you in the least. They bother me.

    The cultic origins of Annihilationism

Gosh, I have a great idea but I can't do it right now, gotta go work some. I'm going to (when I come back) go through the thread from the beginning and put each verse we've come up with on a card. Then I'm going to look at those puzzle pieces and see if I can fit them together into some...

    The cultic origins of Annihilationism

So, your answer is: another game of tennis? :) You don't like puzzles?

    The cultic origins of Annihilationism

Lol! Except that I don't suspect what I supposed there! I put it there as a supposition in response to a supposition. A guess in response to a guess. A perhaps in response to a perhaps.

    The cultic origins of Annihilationism

We are spiritual beings, in my opinion based on what I read, only after we are given Gods' Spirit.

    The cultic origins of Annihilationism

Neither do I. But it is so important to demons that they would prefer a PIG than to be cast into darkness.

    The cultic origins of Annihilationism

Yes. And then other verses clearly reveal that we aren't. So, another game of tennis? OR do we sit down and actually DO the puzzle?
