Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

It's possible that we who belong to Him will see Him begin to appear and descend and then be snatched up a few moments later. It's also possible that only believers will see this but that no one else will. I mean, it is possible. There's no reason why it has to be declared impossible. There's a...

Is eternal torment in hell fire Biblical

I've seen the many threads you've begun and the good questions you are asking. You have just come from Catholicism, where you were told by men what to believe about everything. So you have this habit in you now of believing as you are told to believe instead of having God Himself teach you and...

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

It was the first translation God put in my hands and the one that has remained in my hands since. I do have many other translations and I read them too at times to compare, but I always go back to NLT. I did find a pretty confusing mistake once though. But I just look at parallel translations...

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

Interesting for sure. As to coming back the same way they saw Him go, it is disciples this is said to. Since I am pre-trib gathering, I see this statement by the white robed men to be for believers and not to be the same event as when every eye will see Him.

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

But it reads like this to me. They saw a cloud take Him from their sight. But THEN, it describes this in more detail - they were straining(their eyes) to keep sight of Him as He ascended and became smaller. It helps too, to read a few different translations.

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

Haha! The NLT is my favorite translation! Haha!

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

Yes, I see that noose was saying there is symbolism in the prophecy. I agree there is symbolism there. Jesus is not coming back to collect grapes. The grapes are people. This man who is complaining believes the cloud is a literal aspect and the grapes and sickle are a symbolic aspect. I have no...

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

Apology accepted. It is good to know you do not think I am dishonest but were just confused because of not reading carefully enough and paying more attention. He could be sitting on a cloud when He comes. He could be holding a literal giant sickle in his hand. I personally don't think it will...

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

That's not even my post...how am I being dishonest when you quote a post that isn't even mine? You are quite mad man!

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

I disagree that just because a prophecy uses heavy symbolism, this means it will not happen. Jesus will come again. Will He literally be holding a huge sickle in His hand? Probably not. But this does not then mean He won't literally come again and that some men are going to die. At 6:00 I have...

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

Then why did John look at Jesus and say: look! The lamb of God! He was speaking of Jesus. Jesus was a human man, not a lamb. And you are saying that the lamb looking as if it was slain in Revelation is NOT talking about Jesus?

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

I'm not. You are reading what people say and coming to bizarre conclusions. And here is my recollection of the passage I am referring to: As they were peering, straining their eyes, squinting, watching Him as He went, two white robed men came and spoke to them and said, why are you staring into...

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

Yes, could be. I am talking about where the apostle was calming down the gathering who had been told that Jesus came back again already. Sorry, I assumed that's the passage you were referring to when you said eschatology was indeed of importance to Paul.

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

I did not say that. You have to apply your mind to what other people say. You have to work a bit at understanding what they're saying. If prophecy is presented in a symbolic way, it doesn't therefore mean it is not speaking of a future time and event. Just because John says he saw a lamb...

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

Yes. Who doesn't?? It reads like they stood there watching Him go, getting smaller and smaller until a cloud passed by and they couldn't see Him any more.

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

I think it is in Corinthians, I'd have to look. It's where someone had told them Jesus had already returned. So Paul was reminding them of all that would have to happen BEFORE Jesus comes again. We may be thinking of different passages.

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

He is saying the beast is a future literal being represented symbolically in the prophecy. If I say: that woman is like a rose - I could be saying she is beautiful but also has thorns that could prick you. Or I could be saying she always smells so nice. Or I could just be saying I think roses...

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

And those would be the symbols used in prophecy that EG was talking about...of course no one thinks Jesus is coming because He wants grapes! But it's prophecy. The event will actually happen, it's just that the grapes are people.

Why does Eschatology divide the Church into 3 camps

That was different. They were being taught by someone that Jesus had already come back and they had missed Him!
